Since I too kept pausing to understand what was needed, I decided to spare the rest of you the pain, so here's the list: - 1 ram-drill; - 1 harvester; - 2 conveyer belts; - 2 vertical conveyer belts; - 2 conveyor splitters; - 1 pan; - 2 crucibles; - 12+ foundations; - 1 angled wall (imo much better just regular wall) Now to the piping system (unspecified how much in the vid, but this is how much I got to have it work properly): - 1 intake water pipe (you will know you placed it right if you hear a "splash" sound - you can place it further from the water as long as it's underground and you hear the sound); - 7 straight pipes; - 10 water elbow pipes (personal advice: it's good to have some spare ones just in case); - 3 pipe splitters (aka three end pipes - again, also good to have one or two more just in case); - 1 water pipe valve; - 1 pressure tank (shards fuel it); - 1 water pipe filter (suggestion: place valve, p. tank and p. filter in this order); - 4-5 corks (in doubt take more). Onto some personal notes/suggestions. Following the vid, I did not manage to get an efficient working station, although everything was powered; I had to brain it out to make it functional and this is what I ended up doing: - instead of 2 crucibles on the two piece of foundation like in the vid, just keep the one you already have and dig with a pickaxe two foundations down in front of the conveyor splitters; - place 1 wall between the c. splitters (from their bottom half down) to prevent the ores to mix (if you have the whole thing work for a few seconds you will understand why); - place 1 wall under that wall to further ensure that the ores will not mix once in the pit; - place 1 big concrete foundation as a base (the second wall you placed would be splitting this fundation in half, the ores will not mix); - I got myself a couple of funnels that I placed in front of the conveyor splitters (where the fundation is in the vid), but I don't think it's necessary for this to work, so up to you; - 2 pans to place in each side of the pit to collect ores; - without funnels the ores will scatter everywhere, so do yourself a favor and buy a magnet on a stick/magnet staff: it'll spare you so much grief and it's perfect to collect the ores in the pans; - as I said earlier on, instead of the angled wall, definitely use a normal wall and if the ores get stuck between the pieces of foundation and/or pass through them, use a shovel to fill the gaps with some dirt (doesn't look fancy, but it gets the job done). The way this whole build works is pretty simple, trust me. You get the water going for a while; when you're satisfied with the amount of ores in the pits, you turn off the valve; if you have a magnet, use it to collect the ores into each pan (remember: the wall is preventing the ores from mixing); toss the content of the pan in the crucible, heat it up with a furnace, make your ingots (the heavier the ingots, the higher the value); make weapons and jewels using anvil and gem refiner; sell for sweet coin. I highly recommend buying a smelter as soon as you can, it allows you to make ingots in a matter of seconds, but don't get rid of the furnace (you still need it to heat up the ingots before hammering them on the anvil). Also, a mining helm will prevent you from losing your sanity, but do remember that to light it up you have to first pick it up, left click to turn it on, drop it and then use "E" key to wear it. Also, do make shards into one ingot to power the pressure tank (if you struggle to place it and have the magnet, guess what, it helps a lot). Keep one or two tool kits next to your piping system once you have enough to purchase some and remember that only the filters, drill and harvester get damaged. I further improved the whole thing as I made money, but this will have it work. Oh, if your truck runs out of power, just get a pan and toss some water in the little pool on top of it (turns out the game is called Hydroneer for a reason) and if your drill is powered, but not producing dirt, you probably need to put some dirt under it 'cause it's not deep into the ground enough. Have fun!
Thanks! I really appreciate the comment. I try to make the guides as easily understandable as possible. It's all work in progress but I'll get there :) It's good to know I'm moving in the right direction. The next couple of weeks I won't have any hydroneer content as I'm working on an important project elsewhere but i fully intend to return with more hydroneer content after wards :)
Thanks! This was super helpful. And since some comments are doubting that this still works, I can confirm that it still does with the current steam version.
One thing I noticed yesterday, and I am not sure if it applies to drills, is that the size of resource gained does not matter based on the depth you take it from. It matters how deep your character is standing. I tested by digging a ramp to the bottom of a pit and then looking up and filling my buckets with dirt from the top. The dirt from the top mined while I was standing at the bottom was still big ores.
Yes, I've been told that the key thing to do is to be deep in the mine yourself, but that placing the goliath drills lower down does also improve yield as well
So i tried this and 3/4 of the material doesn't make it off the first angled conveyor and into the processor. I played around with some pieces and ended up putting what looks like a triangle piece of sheet metal between the conveyor and the hopper at the top of the next machine. Flat edge up. This shouldn't work. It should block the conveyor. But... somehow the conveyor forces the dirt balls over the top of the sheet metal putting them just that little bit higher so that they ALL go into the machine and none get stuck. Sadly 20 mins later my filter started sparkling and the whole thing shut down, I'm assuming this has something to do with needed maintenance but I'll have to figure that part out tomorrow. Oh also, you can't put corks in those two bottom holes on the sorters. If you do then you can't get the crucible close enough to the machine and almost all of the gold and iron end up on the floor instead of in the pot.
Glad you enjoy the games I play, I'm just trialing this as I do need to find other games to branch into - But I will be continuing the satisfactory videos and streams, so don't worry ;)
@@TotalXclipse I can imagine how difficult it must be to find a new game to move in to.
