Scandinavia reporting, the church in our village is 900 years old. The roads follow the old boundaries of the fields/Owners land etc.
Makes you feel deeply rooted in the landscape, much like a Hobbit :)

This is what it’s like in many parts of the east coast USA.
The roads were based on Indian trails, which were based on Deer or Buffalo trails.
This does not apply to Florida- you can go anywhere in Florida by only turning twice lol.

To Americans that want to ride in Europe but money is an issue. Check the Transfagarasan (rated best road in the world by Top Gear) and Transalpina in Romania. Equally impressive but way cheaper as they are located in Eastern Europe. Also, with a bit of reaserch, you can find hidden gems of towns packed with castles and other historical sites that you can't find anywhere else. Cheers from Romania and ride safe!

OUTSTANDING VIDEO! So happy that you and JR got to experience this tour. Tours aren't for everyone, but if you go at it as an adventure, you always have a good time. I suspect you made lifetime long memories on this trip. I hope you did. And I must say, you can go to Western Canada without an airplane, always have English speaking hosts and the Canadian Rockies are so different that the US Rockies. Definitely something you need to put on your "to do" list. Again, congratulations to the two of you. Glad you had the chance to experience much of Europe and from personal experience, Italy was my favorite. I'm looking forward to the next video of this trip!

We did an roadtrip which included 9 (out of 10) of the highest and challenging mountain passes in the alps 3 weeks ago. To watch your videos brings memories alive and some goosebumps ;-) The riding in the alps is not comparable to what your are used to, but form time to time we have to get out of our comfort zone to get further in life. In 2025 we will visit the US for a 3 weeks roadtrip - so see you on the road

The nice thing about Susten, Grimsel and Furka passes is that you can do all of them in a row, and easily end up back at Lake Lucerne. It's like a roundabout for the alps. The narrower less traffic-dense passes like Nufenen, Klausen pass or lots of roads in the Jura mountains are all picturesque and you get to see some of the most beautiful countryside of Switzerland. If you want to see the scenery in any part of the country, just stay off the Autobahn and you should be good to go.

My trip to Poland a couple years ago (US military-paid) was pretty awesome but we weren’t allowed to get any sort of privately-owned conveyance. I still had a good time seeing the sights in my off-time because most of what I saw was off limits to Americans the first time I was in Europe (West Germany in the 90’s, also military) because it was behind the iron curtain! Poland, Czech republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, and former East Germany. It was amazing and I really want to go back to experience it on two wheels.

Tight hairpins are a technique, normal to struggle the first time. Takes turning you're head at the right time and arriving at the proper pace. The entry will determine your exit.

Thanks for sharing this experience. I have ridden in most of those places over the years, and now I live in the French Alps I get to ride these roads very ride I take. Seeing it through your American eyes was interesting. I understand why you took an organised tour, but don’t be afraid to make your own way next time. You seem a little insulated from things. And as for that bike, that is not a nimble bike! I would recommend looking for a lighter option next time as your curiosity will take you down some much smaller, tighter roads than these. There is so much to explore. Looking forward to episode 2.

With every week that goes by, politicians have new ideas to restrict something or block roads completely for motorcycles.
It gets less every year to ride, and it gets more expensive every year what they leave open for bikes… no matter if german or austrian site.

I live near to those places, I can be there litterally in a few hours ride. Watching those through your eyes gave me a totally different and new perspective on the places and the road that sometimes I could have take for granted.
This was an amazing vlog, I really loved to see the wonder spark in your eyes, I will definitely look again at those places with a fresh spirit.
    Thank you. ❤

Yeah - you're never quite the same after the Alps. I've done14 solo rides (so far) of 2-3 weeks each. Absolutely habit forming. A friend took one of Tour 1's tours last year (or maybe the year before) and was gobsmacked.
