Great on Jaguar for making an alternative to the X3. However, are they going to make a comfort oriented model? I would like a crossover that has softer materials and some wood trim. Something that makes you want to fix a cuppa and relax.
The buttons that recline the second-row seat look like window switches from a 2001 Ford Focus or Contour. Not sure, but I know I've seen those as window switches on another car before.
It's really unfortunate that the F-Pace has such a small rear leg room. People buy SUVs because they need the additional space in the rear! The Porsche Canenne and BMW X6 are also performance SUVs, but they have noticeably more rear leg room!
This is a lot more practical, it's bigger and has a more powerful engine. The Evoque is more of a compact crossover. I'd pick this anyday as I think it's a better value for what you get.
There is not 1 part that has to do something with an Evoque. This is a completely separate car. Also the mechanics are very different. An Evoque uses a haldex AWD system and is front + back driven. The f-Pace has a completely different system and is Bakc+Front driven.
as someone who works for a land rover and jaguar dealer I can tell you they are the same car. same pricing and equipment so it really comes down to styling. If it were me id choose the F Pace but the Disco Sport is still an excellent car also.
+Leather Face trying both here personally the XC90 is so much better. In quality and drive it's superb. I also love the XC90 gear selector. F pace is a bit cheaply made
Observations: Steering wheel is too cluttered with buttons, prefer a typical console tranny and its a shame the sound of an exhaust (for any car) overshadows interior or exterior design. Exhaust notes are mostly artificially manufactured. Design is a talent that should be acknowledged as a priority. Good review.
As Jaguar uses superchargers and not Turbo's the sound is the sound of the engine, not the sound system trickery that some use. A turbo solution is in between the engine exit and exhaust, and it kills the sound. That said, i also prefer a perfectly silent car. My old 2003 XKR was whisper quiet at any speed, the type of Jag i appreciate the most. Sleek, silent and fast (for the day).
The "puck" shifter is practical in use, my current XJ has it as well. It is easy to use, discrete and practical to put aside. No bone ugly stick sticking up 10" in the middle of the console like in the BMW's....
justin bouche im not making an argument, just saying its worth the money and well priced compared to its rivals. You really need to test drive one and go through the specs to see how it stacks up for you personally.
i have driven the majority of these products extensively. it was my job. im not saying jaguar is bad or anything.. im saying its just a bit high. cadillac and Lexus have made huge gains in interior, materials, and build quality... comparing jag to them is not a dis on my part.
A well-equipped Prestige model costs less than $55k. The back seat is small. This is much smaller than a Lexus RX, for example. More of a stylish BMW X3 competitor than the RX. A very attractive performance SUV going for a niche market buyer.

The Jag hands down. The Evoque is only offered with a 2 liter turbo with 240 hp while the F-Pace has up to 380 hp from a supercharged V-6.

the interior is right in line with what you get from Lexus, Cadillac, and Volvo... going to be hard to justify that price tag.
