Someone described the three Acapella groups like this: Pentatonix are like the student council, Voiceplay are the theater nerds, and Home Free are the guys throwing a tailgate party in the parking lot. Seemed pretty accurate to me.
@@madisoncarlton5568, I was watching another reactor, and she said “We are ready” before starting the video. Then she and her friend proceeded to freak out completely. I commented, “Since when are you ever ready for whatever Geoff is about to hit you with?”
Not only he hits those low notes, but, oh man! how long can he hold them?! Earthquake!! I love how they always get into character for everything they perform! Please, show this to Emily! Thanks, Brad!!
I loved your face when Geoff brought out the War Horn! Imagine facing him in battle and he unleashes that note! I've been waiting for your reaction to this. You didn't disappoint!
Doesn't get any better than this. I've watched this about 50 times, maybe more and im still blown away by Geoff's notes. Great reaction. Love the facial reactions.
I'm not sure about theater, but most of these guys have years of experience working at Disney- which I think counts. What I find really fascinating is that when it comes to their video production, they do pretty much *all* of it. They find and rent the sites to film (or use Pattycake Productions Studio- as in the case with this video- which is owned by Layne and Tony Wakim, another former VP member), they do the costuming, Eli does lighting, Layne or Geoff directs the video and does video editing, Geoff's wife Kathy provides production support... the only things I've noticed them sub out are makeup and cameras (and final mix, but every big a cappella group uses Ed Boyer). To me, a process junkie, their top-to-bottom approach to every project is one of the most laudable things about them. Selection to arrangement to recording to video-- it's all them, and I *dig* that.
Voice Play as a group worked at Universal Studios before going on the Sing-off. Of course they have changed a few singers since then. But they know how to put on a show.
This is my favorite song. I listen to it literally every day 🙈 I'm a Scottish Viking mutt, so I feel this song in my SOUL! I even sing it to the cow when I'm milking, hahahahaaaa

Yep! I agree that this video drew me in right away! Then Geoff did his thing and dropped that massive subharmonic note that sounded like throat singing! This one is my favorite so far! It was excellent all around!
Jose has been with Rockapella for about 2 years now. I just found that out. I used to watch Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego back in the day. I didn't know Rockapella still existed lol

This song is LIT!!! In addition to the lowness of Geoff's notes, the other thing that makes him not human is how long he can hold them! I'm sure he was doubled and they probably added some sort of echo effect, but DANG!!
Someone in comments to another YT reaction for this song noticed a dragon doodle on Geoff's cheek. I've actually never noticed that until reading about this - but had a clear weredragon impression from him anyway.
Completely off topic here: I put food out for 6 cats. They are not the only ones eating on it. I've also had opossums and chickens eating on that as well. Tonight, for the first time, that I've seen, it was a racoon. Much as I like the animals, there is only so much I can do. I'm retired and on a limited income. To be honest, I would not be surprised if the squirrels were eating it as well. Take care all, and I hope you are having a wonderful holiday season.
Greetings Brad from Australia. I am a huge fan of your Acapella Reactions that you do by yourself and your fiance as well. It seems like people that can't sing bass notes are constantly surprised by how low bass singers can go. Granted.....Geoff is RIDICULOUS. But still, I'm not a trained singer and I can hit a D2 full chest voice and I can hit a D1 subharmonic on occasion. It's not as rare as people think.
Geoff for instance worked at Universal Studios in the Beetlejuice Graveyard Revue for ten years as Frankenstein. That's where he met his wife Kathy who played Bride of Frankenstein. Then went on to Disney World. Tony also played as Dracula at Universal Studios. That's why they love to dress up, are very articulate and won't release a video until it's perfect.
