This version of the video for the second mvement uses paintings by the artist Friedrich to visualise the Finnish landscapes depicted in Sibelius’ music. Caspar David Friedrich (1774-1840) is known for his Romantic landscapes filled with solitude and mystery, His works capture a sense of grandeur and introspection that mirrors the concerto. The first movement is also available in a similar format, which includes additional paintings by Friedrich.
