That sea-water looks rich in minerals, you can tell by the colour and the sea-shell fragments on the coastline, I'm guessing the water feels a little slippery when you hold it. Filter it by running it through a doubled-up pair of women's tights, just let it slowly drain through naturally.... then boil the water left until it's dry, you should end up with a bunch of crystal sea-salt in the bottom. If I'm right, that salt will look like grains of rice and it will be white with flecks of pink. It will be worth a fortune if the salt is what I suspect. Jaywick might be sat on a huge natural resource.

Just up the road is Maldon. They do that on an industrial scale there - look up "Maldon Sea Salt".

Unfortunately the low grade housing stock in the Brooklands area (built that was because it was basically holiday chalets) compounds the issue. It really needs knocking down and the whole are rebuilding in more hardy materials. I guess the one benefit is that unlike American homes of similar timber construction, these don't have felt shingle roofs...

Obviously there are a few wrong-un's in Jaywick, just as there is in any part of the UK, but the general, average, Jaywick resident, are salt of the earth type of people that would give you the coat off their back if you needed it. My friend was a postman who delivered there for quite a few years, and he always said he always got the more generous Xmas tips from there, compared to any other more well to do places he has delivered to over the years.
Also, Danny Sloggit is a living legend, lol!

There are a couple of small supermarkets, and its a short car or bus ride to the main supermarkets like Morrisons Asda and Tesco,or into town.i lived in east london, born and bred, then moved to Clacton and i lived in Jaywick.i can honestly say that Jaywck is the best place ive ever lived with regards to a good community. They all look out for each other and everyone gets on.its a lovely place,The documentaries are shite.

Thanks for the video !!!.... it's so fascinating !!!
    ...
I think to regenerate an area is like helping to push a car to start it ????
    .
The authorities view regeneration at the scale between 95%-100% ... but it's the first 5% that's needed to get things moving !!!
(like a car needing a push)
    .
I guess everything has to start with revenue ???.... So the new flats are a start ???
    .
But the idea of a fun fair is a great idea !!!
