RM85 TOP SPEED Increased after I FIXED Bogging Issue!

- my rm85 was fouling spark plugs and generally bogging out on long rides or just a quick blast on the field so I decided to take a look at the thing to get it running nice again. turns out I was running the wrong plug to start with and my fuel mix had too much 2stroke in it. after mixing the fuel correctly and replacing the plug it ran much better but still not perfect so I had a play with the air fuel screw and now my rm85 is running perfect !!

I’ve had my rm85 just over a month fully rebuilt it new gearbox everything lol love it tbh
50:1 is crazy i run 32:1 on my cr85 n i go thru 2 plugs a year
I have been given advice to add less 2stroke oil but have always been told 32:1 was for racing
I run 32.1 and ride trails in north Alaska

Yea it's a great size bike for that age, small wheel or big wheel doesn't matter. I think this is a 2006 model great fun
what year is your Suzuki?
Ir stands for iridium I think. Use normal ngk plugs the more basic the better I’ve found

I have the same issue as you, I have a 2004 RM85 running a NGKBR10ES plug, it starts first time but won't idle unless I keep revving it, it cuts out if I stop, the rim of the plug has black residue around it ( maybe oil ) I'm running a 30:1 mix, I put a new plug in and it runs for a while then cuts out and won't idle again, I filled up my tank 5 weeks ago and haven't riden it since then, just starting it daily, any suggestions? Thanks
Try a br8es plug that worked for me and then I realised I was running too rich so I turned the air-fuel screw on the carb about 1/4 turn to the left and it was a different bike after that first time every time from then on
@Motoring Helps Mental Health cool I'll try that but will the 08 plug and the air/fuel screw turned 1/4 to the left run okay with my 30:1 mix? Thanks
Good point, my mix is around the 40:1 mark
Should be fine, if u can't see any white smoke then you know you need to add more two-stroke 👍

Air filters should be cleaned properly or changed once they get a bit of colour too them. New ones are usually blue or red that filter is wrecked my man

I stole a iridium plug from my rm125 engine lol do have the first start vid after rebuild she was dead swapped plugs first kick lol

@@Adhdmee if you go on my Chanel mate there’s a old vid of her on there will get a newer one soon as she’s got brand new as3 clutch plates on too rips stupidly now lol, but yea crazy did check the plug after and checked it in ht dead lol put the cap back on the iridium first kick lol
I’m gonna take her out tonight for a bit with a phone In my pocket should get a good gist of what she sounds and runs like, my clutch basket has started rattling again so gonna get the locking washer ordered for that
