    This was incredibly helpful! Thank you for sharing all of your knowledge and experience! A few questions:
    1. If only a roach or two have been seen, should we typically go with an exterminator service or is that a bit too aggressive too early on?
    2. Do the products you use also kill any eggs that roaches have laid? I know the sticky traps will take care of any released eggs, but what about eggs that have been laid outside of the traps/before you all show up?
    3. If the kitchen doesn’t have roaches, but perhaps a basement or attic has it - do all clothes, furniture, rugs need to be removed?

      Hope this helps-
      1- if you see one, that could be bad, since they are thigmotropic they wil be in cracks and crevis areas unseen but as the population expands they start to emerge and be seen, there are always more than you see.
      2- it is hard to get anything that can penetrate the eggs, we do 3 services 2 weeks apart on our treatment to break up that egg cycle
      3- that is a call that we usually make on the inspection it all boils down to areas that they can hide and stay clear from our products, my rule of thumb is that if you can move items, then do it.
      Thanks for watching!

    I have a company(Orkin) coming to my unit soon. I live in a townhome. I received notice to clear the kitchen and every closet, shelf and cupboard. To place all bathroom items in the tub and kitchen items on the kitchen table and cover with plastic. General areas it says to clear the closets. What is considered a general area? What about my basement? It’s partially finished. Do I have to remove all clothes and bedding in all bedrooms?

    Eliminates the harborage area and allows the bait to be applied and vacuum the droppings and other roach debris to prevent roaches from using the pheromones to locate where they have been used to feeding

    My landlord just notified me that I need this done in my building, but I haven't seen any roaches (or any insects in my specific unit), so is it necessry to treat my unit too or is there a chance they might not need to do mine? I'm concerned about the potential health risks from this procedure and have a lot of questions.
    1) How do I clean the remaining residue from all the chemicals that have been sprayed all over my home after the treatment is all completed?
    2) If I have to wash it off with water, won't the water get in cracks/crevices (ie mouldings) and lead to mold growing if not dried properly?
    How do I dry behind the mouldings where water can collect?
    3) Will any residue still remain after washing and what are the long term health risks to living in that environment and breathing in that residue all day for years afterwards?

    • @pestcontrolguys
      @pestcontrolguys  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      1- Residue cleaning is done best with a soap and water solution. You can use cleaning products like windex or similar or any soap solution. The more water the better. I would wait at least a couple of weeks before cleaning.
      2 Moisture can be an issue for growing mold spores- you should ventilate and dry all areas thoroughly. Side note- mold can grow starting just over 70% humidity.
      3- Some residue will remain for a time. Current products are designed to break down before 120 days, usually closer to 90. The EPA requires that they breakdown so that they don't eventually contaminate waterways. Most of the products used now are pyrethrin based and are not as toxic as they have been in the past. They are designed to work on the central nervous system of pests and not humans. Breathing in products is almost impossible once they dry especially if they are a mico-cap or similar formulation. There just are no airborne particles once it dries.
      Hope that helps!

    What about bedroom, living room? There is NOTHING about those places in this video? Does the fumigator only fumigate the kitchen and leave? Should we remove everything from the bedroom and living room too? I hope you answer because my apart complex including my apart will be fumigated very soon and I am so overwhelmed by it.

    • @pestcontrolguys
      @pestcontrolguys  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@mine1685 it depends on where the roaches are located. Most of the time there are not infestations in the bedrooms or living room. Roaches typically localize by water sources and food sources. If there is food in those rooms then the areas would need cleaning and preparation prior to treatment. Your company should tell you preparation steps including rooms that should be prepared, if not ask them. Best!

    So I am having a treament done for the second time in my apartment. The first pest control companu that came by never gave me any instruction besides putting my eating and cooking utensils up and covered. They treated and my problem never went away. This new company the apartment hired gave me a long list of things to clean and have removed prior to the treatment and what do do after the treatment. How can i just be sure they're being thorough? It seems like they are simply based on how they've asked me to prep. What are questions i should be asking them before they treat?
    Ive had to rid almost all my furniture, books, paintings and childrens electronic toys due to this infestation.

    • @pestcontrolguys
      @pestcontrolguys  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That is a good and important question. Their instructions for preparation are an important step. Have they asked everyone to be out for a period of time? This would indicate that the product being used is a little heavier duty? Are there planned follow up visits? How far apart? You can also ask if they will use dusts, IGR’s and baits. You can always ask what products they plan to use and if they have a vacuum. Those are good indicators of a good treatment. We hope that the process goes well for you this time.

    We have a lot of oil, vinegar, soy sauce bottles hanging out on the counter top. Should those be thrown away or just cleaned?
    Also I’m afraid to put things from my cabinets to somewhere else in the house in case I transport the roaches further into my house from the kitchen. Any thoughts on this?

    • @pestcontrolguys
      @pestcontrolguys  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Bottles should be straight forward. If they are sealed and no bugs inside, you can clean residue off the bottles and they shouldn’t be an issue. Transporting infested foods is a danger but bottles are a less likely suspect. Good questions. Best of luck.

    • @pestcontrolguys
      @pestcontrolguys  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @naturalscratcher9498 1-dishes and cutlery should be washed then stored in bags(maybe garage or off site)
      2-Food, separate good from possibly contaminated, keep the good in sealed containers like Tupperware, get rid of the rest.
      3-anything else should be cleaned or removed outside until the treatment has produced results.
      We realize this disrupts life and can be a hassle. Anything questionable should be removed. You bring up a good point, infested products can cause future problems. Hope that helps.

    • @pestcontrolguys

      That depends on how bad the situation is. Rule of thumb is that anything that can be cleaned out and empty should be. It is always a good idea to give the technician more open space to treat. Cockroaches are drawn to electricity and water, so the dishwasher is often a hot spot.
