Thanks David! I'm really happy with how the column and steering wheel turned out. I had to trim and make the nomad door panels fit a hardtop , convertible door. I also plan on running nomad waffle pattern seat covers. Your right the nomad interior waffle pattern is stunning. Later man
Great video! Now I want a 58 wheel for my 57 Nomad. It was originally a three on the tree. I made the column smooth and put in a t-10 four speed and I love it! Thanks for your informative videos!
Thanks Man! Yeah a 58 Impala wheel would be cool or your 57 Nomad. I try to buy them whenever I find a nice original one at a decent price. Later Buddy
Don, like I suggested a couple of years ago. You did one hell of a job removing the that shift nub from the collar. It looks outstanding. Well done my man well done. Stay at it and get the rest of the dents out of the sheet metal. Make it one that I will drive out and try to buy off of you.
Thanks Man! I'm really happy how the column and steering wheel turned out. Im going to stay on it and get this one together and slicked up. Later Buddy
Don, I've learned a lot watching your channel which I'm grateful for, and I can safely say I defiantly prefer the 55 and 56, not a fan of the 57. Boy do I love that gasser, If I had the space and the money I'd happily take it off you hands without question! I hope it goes to a very good home!
Hello Don. Your busy. I'm getting my garage in order. Summer was just fixing motorcycles cars then my ford truck PO135 yeah working on that & so been busy to 🤪 all is good 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😎
Yes sir Don , that steering column looks awesome and makes all the work u did in Dash just pops looking great Bud . Yeah wish you luck on finding A 69 Camaro or 70 Chevelle, hard to come by , heck been trying to find a 69 Firebird hard to find in halfway descent shape. Have a good one Man enjoy the Family ✌️
Thanks Lonnie! I know man the muscle cars are hard to find and super expensive anymore. Good luck on your hunt for a 69 Firebird, there sweet looking cars. Later man
Thanks Buddy! Yeah I guess I've always felt like a philosopher! I look at life a bit more different as I grow older and realize everything is special and we need to take the time to enjoy it. Would be cool to be neighbors. Have a good one
Looking awesome my friend. Who wouldn't be so dam.happy to have all these awesome tri-fives. One can only dream.of what you have acquired over the years Don. (Priceless treasures) i still say make that Xmas card of BIg Dons tri-five garage. 😁👍👍
Thanks Richard! Yeah man it has taken me a while to find them all and they all have there own special spot with me. The Xmas card does sound like a really cool idea. Have a good one Buddy 👍
Wow Don, looks fantastic I really like the red against the black, and that steering wheel is awesome, 4 speed all the way buddy, have a great week Big D😀😀
I am catching up, been working alot, this my first stop and I find my buddy hovering around the tool box with us on it, lol. Great update man. That steering wheel and column came up sweet. Your gasser should move quickly. Take care brother
Thanks BW! Yeah man I sure do love the old tool box with all the boys on it. I'm really happy with how the convertible is turning out. I hate to sell anything but don't want to have a car just setting around for years if I know I wont get to it. Have a good one Buddy 👍
the steering wheel is for sure beautiful and all 3 nomads and the 55 ragtop, god is blessing you with special grace because your a good man and a family man, my chevy astro was making a constant banging noise in the back, i was worried sick it was a rear wheel bearing , turned out it was just a bad shock, i ordered new coil overs , jacked it up and did the whole job, made me feel great to be productive, since im 64 , had the cancer bad, but all gone, anyway i have always had chevys, cameros, corvettes, silverados, always working on them, thats why i get along with you
Wow Don looks great, you are definitely doing a good job. The car will be beautiful. I know that feeling, a man can only do so much everyday. I got ten on you , I can't find enough time for all the projects and keep up . Believe me you are doing great !
Thanks Mario! Yes man I was happy to get this part of the car done. It sure does make it tough being so busy in life, no much time for the Hot Rods! All in due time it'll come together. Later Buddy
Nice work on that dash and column Don, perfect choice on the wheel too! Love the story on the wheel too, nice memento and I can tell it means a lot to you. Have a good week buddy!!
Brother.... I don't think a sexier steering wheel has ever been produced!! And the restoration you've done on that colum is absolutely perfect!! I love the red against the black!! My old man loved Tri Fives... Always wanted one, but never had one. His favorite color combo was a black car with a red interior, and he loved convertibles... Needless to say, I love everything you're doing with this car!!
Thanks Chaz! I'm very happy with how the steering wheel and column turned out. The early Impala wheels are so freaking cool. Sounds like you pops was alot like mine man he loved the Tri5s. Have a good one Buddy 👍
Hey Big Don. Your steering wheel turned out great and I like the way you carried the paint through into the engine bay on the column. I really appreciate your love and strong bond with your tri-five collection. I'd hate to see the gasser go, but it would free up some extra bucks to go toward your convertible. Take care my man and have a good rest of your week.
Thanks Jim! Yeah the old Tri5 chevys have a very special part in my life. I've grew up around them my entire life and sure do love them. Time will tell on the Gasser my biggest problem is just letting a car set if I know I won't get to it Later Buddy
Hey Don , a mess means that work and progress is getting done . Looking very nice and it’s going to be hard not to drive that convertible everyday. Another great update 👍👍 Shawn RR
Great work BIG DON! Looks totally awesome and I am glad you are considering thinning the heard. I think that spending time on too many projects lessons the quality and focus. Plus where do you put them all. Anyway I always tune into your channel and I am not even a tri five owner. Cheers bro
Thanks Man! I'm very happy how the column and steering wheel turned out. Nice to be able to check that off the list. I also agree it time to thin them out some. Just not enough time and energy for them all. I appreciate you watching the channel Buddy
Don, the dash and column look outstanding! Gypsy Red is my all time favorite and I even painted over a popular Regal Turquoise/India Ivory paint job just to have a Gypsy Red/India Ivory car! That is a lot of work in that column and that shift collar! I have to do a special stock column on the delray and eliminating the shift arm nub may help me out with that column too. I have always liked the '58 Impala Wheels too! The whole story on the wheel is awesome and I see big value with adding parts to these cars that have stories attached to them. I totally get it with letting go of some of the treasures. Sometimes you have to do what's best for the family. I think hanging on to that driveline for a '69/'70 muscle car is perfect! Having owned a forest green SS396 '70 Chevelle 350hp/4 speed, I would be partial to them. It just sucks that the price of the '70's are so high! Keep up the great work Don and I look forward to the next one!
Thanks Jeff! You right man Gypsy red is such a awesome color. It can look orange in bright sun and Tomatoe red is shaded light. It's my favorite color by also red is my favorite color. Lol I sure do like Regal Turquoise or Harvest gold on a 55 Chevy as well. Your old SS chevelle sounds so sweet! Always liked the forest Green on them. The prices are sky high anymore but beyond that you just don't know for certain if there a real SS. I would rather see one original with some rust and wore out paint and interior for me to make my own decision on it being a real SS. I would hate to say but it could almost be true. I know a 70 Chevelle SS as much as I know a 55 Chevy! Have a good one Buddy 👍
Nice job on the steering column looking sweet. Love those 58 Impala steering wheels. Almost bought one for my 55 GMC thought one would look killer in it to. Have a good one man take it easy 👍🏻
Don great work on the 55 column and the 58 wheel. i had to put a column together for the 57 wagon is was missing when i got the car. i have the back floors and rockers made and welded in, now im doing the front rockers and floors. i would have put a whole floor pan and full rockers in but i don't have the cash to do that so i have to do what i can with what i have .
There isn't a better looking dashboard than a 55 dash. That steering wheel story is cool. I like the 55 wheel too and notice many people prefer the 58 one.
Hey Gorni! You right man there is not a better looking dash built than a 55 Chevy! I've always liked the look of a early impala wheel. Have a good one Buddy 👍
Big Boys down at the pool hall buy cars to impress others and make themselvef look good. Car guys buy only if they want that car and are willing to make ANY sacrifice to buy it, put their paw on it and treasure it. i know the feeling of your 55, 56, 57, Nomads. When my son inlaw and i went to get the 56 Nomad with truck and trailer. He said what is the plan. look at it inside and test drive it before i pay for it. I said no start it and put it on trailer and pay for it. This 56 Nomad is coming home if it is bend in half. What ever it needs we will fix it. thank you
Hey Giveblood! Yeah your right about that man. Your 56 Nomad is so freaking awesome I love the look of it. Your car reminds me of the cars I remember seeing when I was growing up. Have a good one Buddy 👍
Thanks Harvey! I'm very happy with how it turned out. I have a Belair steering wheel but just wanted the 58 Impala wheel on this car. Have a good one Buddy 👍
Thanks Man! 55 Chevy is my all time favorite car. I would draw pictures of them when I was very little. LOL I've loved them my entire life. Have a good one Buddy
Column and wheel looks great. I understand you can’t keep them all. Selling the gasser you can reinvest that money in something else. Take it easy and talk to you later. 👍😎✌️
Thanks Kevin! I very Happy with how the column and steering wheel turned out. Maybe the Gasser will go down the road and make someone really happy. Hate to sell any of them but also don't want to hold a car back if I won't get to it. Have a good one Buddy 👍
The ragtop is looking great. Love that steering wheel. I would definitely be interested in the 55 gasser nomad. Let me know a price with the motor and without the motor.
Thanks Mike! I'm very happy with how the column and the steering wheel turned out. I'll send you a email on the Gasser. It's a super cool old car but it needs alot of work. Have a good one Buddy 👍
2:48 Buck & A Quarter Crafts ears just perked up
5:40 Authentic and As Found are exactly the same Mindset I share
Steering wheel & column looks great. Also I noticed 55 nomad door panels. The waffle pattern is the best ever!!

Thanks John! Glad to hear you enjoy the videos. I like them all but 55 is my favorite! Have a good one Buddy 👍

It looks great, and it's all about the story. I was wondering why you keep that wheel on the car and not a stock Belair wheel. Now, it makes sense.
Thanks Harvey! I'm very happy with how it turned out. I have a Belair steering wheel but just wanted the 58 Impala wheel on this car. Have a good one Buddy 👍
Was looking at a 55 dash at a car show last Saturday. It had a roll & pleat cover/pad that looked great.
Keep plugging away brother---'55 is my favorite of the Tri-fives. She's going to be sweet!

I've always liked to 58-60 Impala steering wheel and how it looks on a 55 or 56 Chevy!
