It's looking good, and you are right, It is a condenser (capacitor) on the generator, but check it with a meter first. If you put it on, check it on ohms since it could short out over time. You will see the meter read low resistance, and then it should go to higher resistance if it's working. Before you install the coil, you could even put one there. It would go on the coil + side. If the condenser is shorted, it will stay at near zero resistance like a short. Depending on the capacity, it will come down at a slow rate. If your meter reads capacity, it will tell you in microfarids. If you don't have one, use one from a set of points that will work, too. A capacitor just opposes voltage, which is what it does and keeps the whining noise out of the radio. You might have ground clips that ground the hood as an option as well. By grounding the hood better, the noise is suppressed getting into the radio and use carbon suppression wires. Solid core alows noise into the radio. BTW, Happy Easter to you and your family.
Don , your work is paying off. The P/S reservoir looks brand new and the 58 Impala wheel and the polished knobs in the interior are a nice touch. The talent you possess is endless. I can't wait for you to complete the body work on your ragtop. Catch you on the flipside all the best Ed.
Man, that pump came up sweet. I had no idea the shims was cardboard, and not rubber. Learned something new again. Thanks bud and thanks for sending us the rain LOL. It poured last night. Engine Bay looks fantastic 👌
Another fine video Don. The pump turned out great and looks fine installed. I really enjoy how you try to save and restore each part no matter how small. Hope your Easter was great.
Man Don the pump looks great. A fine piece of the jewelry to make the convertible look awesome. Enjoy the ride everyday brother. Happy Easter buddy 👍😎✌️
Yeah Bud that pump turned out great, that would be a hard decision on painting the air cleaner looks good the way it is to me , Keep it going Don coming along nice 👍✌️
There's nothing wrong with "stopping and smelling the roses" especially when it comes to building these trifives. The engine and interior seem to pop better on video with the door down
Nice job Don on the pump looks new its all about just gettin it done ambition is the hard part,LOL. Hey I also seen two ramshorn manifolds here locally on FM for $100 that were chromed not sure if you would be interested thought it was a good price in todays crazy market. I have ceramic coated headers so I dont need them or I would scoff them up, Happy Easter!
Yeah Don they sold quick in two days sorry for the tease. Ill try to not do that anymore,LOL! I mean well. They were really nicely chromed for cast iron would of been sweet on your convertible but it was a good thought either way take care ..@@donshotrodgarage1717
I've said it before, but he detail in this build has me super intrigued!! I was thinking the same about the air cleaner too bud... Hope you had a great Easter!!
Hey Don , don't take this suggestion wrong, for years I only used gloss black but I've switched to satin black and found that it look's so much better. Maybe just my preference but my JD tractor has all the black done in satin from the factory and it looks so fine.
Hey Buddy! There new coil springs for a 55 chevy with v8 engine. There still almost all the way compressed. Just thinking they should settle down at some point I hope. Later Buddy
I actually would probably agree with you. But my last dog loved ham loved Taco Bell and loved Reese cups. It lived to be almost 18 and we had to make the tough decision to put him down. The old boy never ate dog food one day of his life, he would rather starve. Later 👍
Looking Awesome! thanks for the updates!

You got yourself a nice nest egg for retirement
Nope.... No paint on the snout. Buff it out a bit, but definitely do not paint it. It tells the story and I like it. Good job Big Don
Pump looks like you put a lot of work into it. Came out Very nice! My 56 Chrysler New Yorker had that same style power steering system on the Hemi.
Hey Gorni! Yes I'm sure there was a few cars out there with this setup. Later Buddy
Keep up the good work, Don!
Do I remember a throttle spring hooked to the tab on the coil bracket? Been there done that with the linkage clip thing.
I'll try that one the spring. Thanks Buddy
Don do you know what the front coil springs are and where they came from. i would be looking for springs that have a higher stand.
Hey Buddy! There new coil springs for a 55 chevy with v8 engine. There still almost all the way compressed. Just thinking they should settle down at some point I hope. Later Buddy
Do NOT paint that air cleaner ,,,MHO.....
None of my business, but dogs shouldn't have pork products.
