    my parents are so fixed on a crammed revision timetable where I study for 8 hours a day, with each subject being given equal amounts of time which I found super ineffective. having each day on a reasonable amount of content is the way to go. thanks bud.

      Hmmph. Say it again.
      On a real though, (I know it's a little bad, forgive me) but I'm hoping that someway, somehow, they end up having to cancel them because the pandemic really threw me and I'm in a bad spot right now - I'm in Year 11 but I'm still covering things that should have been done in Year 9. I kind of wish that something easier comes in to just make life a little easier for us, especially because we are at a major disadvantage.
      Then again, my tutor has warned me that because I'm a homeschooled student, I may have to still write exams written by a private exam center, which could be much harder and may have little connection to the exam boards I'm studying, and therefore I will know very little about what'll be on those papers. I just hope I make it through this alive, somebody pray for me😂
      EDIT: I should probably apologize for my tactlessness. I know there are many people who really want to write them, and it seems quite selfish of me to want their dreams ruined just because I'm not ready. I'm sorry.

      @@freya1253 Wow! Just saw this. Honestly, I was expecting a backlash for insensitivity to people who want to take them, so it's quite refreshing to see some agreement. Thanks for your well wishes! Let's hope Gavin Williamson sees this and does SOMETHING worthwhile!

    • @scarlett8562
      @scarlett8562 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jadynbenneh1176 The only problem with predicted grades is that I really don't want to have to stress about every topic test and work I give back to my teacher, especially as I spent most my years being unproductive and not revising a lot for topic tests. However, I heard they are dropping subjects, being generous with grading, and might tell us the topics in the exams so it generally should be an easier exam compared to other years

    • @jadynbenneh1176
      @jadynbenneh1176 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@scarlett8562 While I agree (mostly) with what you're saying, the first isue for me is that I have no predicted grades (I'm homeschool) so that messes up THAT. And then I have to think about if all these things Gavin is saying will apply to me because I'm a homeschooled student sitting CIE IGCSE.
      Oh, and there a third: since I'm already very behind, there's a high chance I won't be ready enough to sit the papers during exam season (last week I did a full set of IGCSE papers for math and each science, it wasn't great...)? If this is true, what could possibly be on these so called 'books and/or sheets' that could help me but wouldn't be cheating?
      Forgive me for anything naive I've said, as I previously mentioned it's very hard to find news regarding homeschooled CIE IGCSE students...

    • @friedfishh
      @friedfishh 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I can really relate to this. Idk if you still need it, but I tend to do a past paper for the sciences and maths, star any questions I'm not sure of or need a recap of the content and then prioritise my revision around those topics.
      For which subjects, I look at how much content they are, which do I have the lowest grades on and which do I find naturally easier and naturally harder (so ie, if I don't study for it, do I usually get an alright grade or a really bad grade. in other words, how easy is that subject for me to wing pfft). So for instance, maths requires lots of practice which takes time, history is very very content heavy for me, and bio is content heavy and also one of my worst subjects, so I tend to start with these first.
      Hope that helps and good luck :)

    • @lullaby4108
      @lullaby4108 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You should still cover all the content because you won't know what topics will come up until February which is not long before the exams

      I'm confused, will the exam boards actually tell you what exact topics are going to be in the exams in February?

    • @lullaby4108
      @lullaby4108 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sanchayminocha8981 yes, they will. btw i dont think this is for all subjects. for example, i'm doing history ocr b, and the only major change is that schools can drop one study out of four, but they won't be telling us what topics are coming up however, for science, we will be told in february what topics to revise. just ask each of your teachers to tell you the changes or check each exam board for subjects you're taking
