I dont get why Charles never mentions Jeffrey Lee Pierce. He practically ripped off his voice-no he did rip off his voice, ok added and made better (his scream is GOAT)....just weird. Please acknowledge him once! lol

It’s just disturbing to watch how uncomfortable these four are around one another. It’s like 4 separate interviews. Rarely see this in a band. Seems like there’s zero camaraderie among them. Zero. Especially when Frank speaks, no one dare makes a sound until he’s done. Frank Black seems to have no sense of humor any longer. His answers to the questions are so serious and protracted. Show me another band like this.
I can understand looking at it that way based on their early days, but the reality of what's happening is that they're just introverts, not “glamorous show business” type people (Kim Deal was the exception and the only real extrovert), they all let the others speak cuz they know if they disrupt their thought process, they will get derailed and just stop talking altogether...
at 24:37 you can see they feel free to talk over Black Francis and he doesn't mind at all... these are people with some of the highest contrast between being able to make insane surreal punk rock sounds while being ultra-ordinary in daily life
Man, I have to disagree. There are plenty of interviews where the others speak along with or even over Charles. Also, there is a TON of camaraderie amongst them. They have a ton of fun together making music, recording albums, and touring. And no, there is NO other band like this. They have their own unique DNA. If they acted like other bands, they would be LIKE... other bands. I love them the way they are.

@@mucous-membrane they have less camaraderie than most bands. When you watch their documentary, this is on full display
