How to make Mushroom Plant Decor / Ornaments using air drying clay: easy DIY craft tutorial video

Here's a really easy and fun DIY project to decorate your planters and house plants! Little mushrooms to add a bit of colour and whimsy. :) They are very easy to make. Details are given below. You will need
- Air drying clay
- Dry sticks
- Acrylic paints & brushes
- Varnish
Cut or break the sticks into pieces ranging from 10 to 17 cm.
Roll clay into a ball and insert a stick into it. Pinch the clay around the stick to form a mushroom top.
Make sure the stick is secured to the mushroom top from below, and doesn't fall out.
Make more mushrooms and let them dry.
Use Acrylic paints to add colour to the mushrooms.
Add a coat of Varnish to make them waterproof.
And your mushrooms are ready to be added to planters, to decorate your house plants!

We used Camlin Acrylic Tube Paints and added a coat of Varnish.

It is air drying clay. And later we have used white acrylic paint.

How long does it take the clay to air dry?

The clay we use takes 24 hours to fully dry out. You can also get faster-drying clay in the market.

Hello! No, air drying clay is different. An example is Fevicryl Mouldit. It hardens permanently and becomes like rock.
