Vikings fan here, he gave me one of the more memorable games in a while, in a week I expected nothing. Seems like a great guy with a lot of talent. As a Tennessee fan and also alumnus, it is HIGHLY intriguing that Josh Dobbs will be playing against his old college teammate Alvin Kamara. Kamara was a superstar running back on the Tennessee team that Josh led as a star quarterback. They often competed against each other on who could get the most rushing yards in a game, often with EACH getting more than 100 yards on the run. Added to that, Dobbs would get a lot of passing yards as well. And Kamara would at times be a big receiving target. It was a real spectacle. The greatest spectacle of all was Josh Dobbs winning the Tennessee-Georgia game with a famous 60-yard Hail Mary pass to another NFL star who was also a Tennessee star receiver, Juan Jennings. It will be interesting to see Josh and Kamara checking each other out from opposing sidelines on Sunday.
Another great thing about the I formation is that the QB is under center and has all his lineman, TE, FB, HB around him which helps with presnap communication and that benefits a new guy to a team
At minimum he is the ultimate journeyman with his surreal ability of being a human document scanner and memorizing enough of a playbook in probably just a day or 2. I couldn't even memorize my HS playbook wing-t/power I/spread playbooks.
I met Josh dobbs when the steelers did a charity basketball game at my school really down to earth and so proud of how far he come from Pittsburgh to Minnesota.
There are people who are of a superior gene pool and Josh Dobbs is one of them. Dude graduating with a 4.0 in aerospace engineering, playing D1 football at Tennessee, and later pro as a starter are an insane amount of accomplishments at such a young age. The dude is successful at whatever he does, and that will translate well when he’s done playing football.
It’s pretty cool to see him doing the same major as I’m doing in college. (Aerospace engineering) However I’m after college, I’m probably not going to pursue aerospace engineering but instead be a commercial pilot
Titans should of traded Tannehill end of season last year when they probably could of gotten something for him, anything, and let Dobbs ride it out till one of the rookie QB's steps up.

Dobbs has never actually been given a fair chance at starting. He was drafted to backup Big Ben who almost never gets hurt. He moves on to the next team who drafts a QB in an early round and gets pushed aside. Same thing happened at his next stop. But he gets to be starter in AZ because their high value guy is recovering from surgery. That guy is now coming back and Dobbs is expendable. So here we are!
I hate when people say "we already know what Dobbs is, it's been 7 years now." Like you said, no, we don't know what he can do. It's so stupid to totally ignore the facts that led to him never starting.

There's no reason to think he SHOULD have started over Big Ben or Kyler Murray, it just didn't work out that he got much opportunity. It looks like he's used all that time to learn his craft. Dobb’s biggest problem has been inconsistency. He had quite a few games in AZ, and showed to be “viable”, but not yet a top tier QB. Thus far even in MN he has made quite a few mistakes, but has also made some big plays. Thankfully for him, the teams he has played against since in MN aren’t particularly great and the Vikes defense have helped him out a ton to reduce the damage of his mistakes. Being a Viking fan I am hoping KOC can help him to reduce his mistakes and turn him into a top QB going forward. He has all the traits, just needs consistency and needs to reduce mistakes.
Dobbs was literally the reason the cowboys lost to the cardinals in the desert. Dallas might have won had that game been during second half of regular season. Or perhaps if they had actually gotten their act together like in their heartbreakingly close loss to the eagles at the link. Philly may have that man to thank if they would go on to win the division by a game over the cowboys even if they split the head-to-head.
He's already had a good career because he's played solid to good football as the backup, especially taking to account that he got cut and signed mid-season.

Made me laugh when i was reading an article a few days ago about how QB play is down this yr and one of the comments the writer made was "he was bad enough for the cardinals to bench him" I was like.... Bro... Did you see the cardinals with Clayton Tune? In fact, have you even peeped at the cardinals roster? It was amazing that he could send that kind of shade at Dobbs. Im not expecting Dobbs to light it up week in and week out. But he is clearly a guy on the same lvl as backup QBs like Gardner Minshew and Jacoby Brissett. They will help you stay competitive and even win you some games. But i spose whatever an NFL writer has to do for clout

So a black guy almost needed to be a heisman or national championship contender to get drafted high! They would then find dudes like Carson Wentz from North Dakota and hype the guy up so he gets drafted high and simply holds a spot! They did this with Daniel Jones! Now maybe it is changing, but Dobbs never should've been bouncing around to begin with!
