    About 230 applications so far and hardly any interviews (from July to October 2023).
    Changed CVs many times, adding Cover Letter, Selection Criteria, flexible with salary and start date. Still nothing.
    Never was in this situation. I am 40+ with quite solid IT management experience coming from NZ. Always had at least an interview in NZ.
    I have applied for management, hand-on roles, different trades and domains, and have even gone for junior roles.
    Unsure what else to do.
    And… I’m not the only one. Something’s going on globally and Perth is not an exception.

      How did you go? I've heard you have to use exact / specific keywords in order for the application to even get accepted or read by an employer as sites like seek filter anything out without the ATS keywords.

    • @livingsimplyaustralia
      @livingsimplyaustralia  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for the comment :) In terms of where to work, everything depends on your industry/sector and is a constant changing climate - so I couldn't tell. But in the video I talk about JobOutlook for doing your industry research - I suggest checking that site, under Careers, click on Explore Australia, and you'll get the top industries/jobs in each state. Another alternative is checking Seek, and seeing whether there're enough jobs (relevant to your industry) advertised in the state/city you're interested in. Hope this helps

      No worries. It's unlikely you'll be able to work in Aus with a tourist visa. For visa advice I highly recommend contacting a registered migration agent - I explain this in more detail in this video th-cam.com/video/EnIvh8oqGqM/w-d-xo.html

    How do I get a job from my home country in Australia?? I’m an accounts assistant is it possible to get an employer to sponsor me ?

    • @livingsimplyaustralia
      @livingsimplyaustralia  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Getting sponsorship from your home country is tricky - unless you have very high demand skills or work for a multinational (I know people who got transferred between companies). However, employers usually prefer candidates who are already here in Australia. Having said that, you can get started with networking with recruiters via linkedin, and test the waters - perhaps once you are here they have some interview opportunities ready for you. It's all about networking and building a good job application. But again, they'll prefer you to be here.

    Thank you for your video. At the moment, in Sydney, looking for a job :P.... this video is very useful for me... English level is Big problem ? how to find a job who is a low level of English.

    • @livingsimplyaustralia
      @livingsimplyaustralia  ปีที่แล้ว

      English level is pretty important when it comes to finding a job, especially in professional environments. Having said that, it all depends on the job (but a basic level of English is almost a must I'd say). So I'd always recommend focusing on working on improving your English not only to maximise your chances of getting a more secure opportunity but also to be able to perform well on the job. But everything depends! Have a look at the Selection Criteria for the job you're interested in, usually they clarify whether they need candidates with excellent communication skills.

    • @livingsimplyaustralia
      @livingsimplyaustralia  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Having experience will make it easier for you to get a job, but it shouldn't be a huge problem if you don't (they usually have trials, so if you perform well at the trial, you should be fine - you'll also need the RSA certificate in most instances). There are also massive skills shortages in the hospitality industry at the moment, employers are desperate for people, which I reckon will make it even easier to get a hospitality job!
