Scoot is a sophomore point guard when the season starts and this will give the fans and the blazers a assessment of where Scoot is going as a point guard but he is a still developing player which is fine so people need to stop saying he is a bust after one season
People are going to be prisoner of the moment and I accept that, but I really think you're going to have to judge Scoot Henderson's development on the same timeline as players like Derrick Rose and Russell Westbrook. Both Rose and Westbrook put up rookie numbers not too dis-similar from Scoot. The important thing for both Rose and Westbrook in their rookie seasons was you saw flashes and towards the end of the season, we started to see those flashes from Scoot. Both continued to develop steadily if not super efficiently in their 2nd seasons and became fully realized players by their 3rd seasons in the NBA. I still feel pretty confident that this will be the same type of progression path for Scoot. Unfortunately for Scoot, I think a bunch of people thought he was going to revolutionize the guard positions the same way Wemby would for the bigs, so when he couldn't hit those heights people were quick to label him as a potential bust.
As a Blazers fan, I’m not at all worried about Scoot - he showed great flashes as a playmaker and slasher, and even as a shooter at times. He’s a rookie guard (who have historically had poor first seasons) who just needs to get a bit more confidence in his skills and he’ll be great. Don’t give up on him!
Scoot did have a better April than any other month. He scored 19 ppg at 41/41 splits with almost 10 assists. I think he's just 19 years old and hasn't figured it out. People forget he generally had basketball work for him his entire life, this is probably one of the first times his talent doesn't overwhelmingly give him success. Still can’t get over Gil saying Pop needed to be held accountable for the Spurs not winning… Wemby Vassell and Castle is an insane young core to build off. Props to SA for taking the slow and steady route.
Scoot was pretty good for a rookie point guard. Look at historically great point guards. They all struggled their first year. Also he really turned it on the last 20 games. He needed an acclimation period, and a confidence building season. This is why none of you are in an nba front office, because you don’t give time for player development.
He was worse than Wemby, Miller, Thomson Twins, Lively, Podemzki, Whitmore, Jaquez, etc. So yes not good for a player that would've gone #1 overall lol. And there's a reason people in the front office get fired.
Yeah idk why anyone’s scared, scoot potential ain’t go nowhere, just other guys like Bmiller showed the potential just as high. 14 and 5 on basically 40% is pretty solid when you remember small pgs always struggle out the game and he’s not the best shooter either. I initially wanted Scoot for Charlotte before the draft actually happened, but when I watched more tape on Brandon Miller and started looking at what folks I trust wanted the Hornets to do, I felt that Miller was the better option for them at 2 simply because he was a better fit position wise. Turns out, he was a better fit ability wise too. If the Hornets hit on their home run swing in this most recent draft and at least get a decent compliment to Miller and a healthy LaMelo, that team might actually start making some noise.

I dont really like how rookies get criticized as if they were pro basketball players themselves if you watched the ignite games then u know that scoot had a inconsistent shot and often times had some questionable decision making too but his potential was too much to ignore and its not right to write him off just yet hes been injured alot and he needs a full offseason to really develop which he has now give him some time hes had 30 plus point game outbursts he just needs time to figure it out and hes on a rebuilding time so thats fine too
I said it at the time with Brandon Miller and I'll say it about Scoot- give the dude time. It's been one season lol. I preferred Miller for CLT bc he's a 3 pt shooting SF who came out of a pro style system with a coach who actually prepares players for NBA. Scoot's been set back by an inferior developmental staff and less organized program at G League Ignite. I think he can get right with the right coaching and a little more experience.
God I wish the warriors could rebuild bc they have a lot of young talent and if they could tank and get someone in the next couple of drafts they would be crazy. Imagine like cam boozer with potz kuminga and such. But Currys there so that's not happening
Dallas’ tank job last season led directly to their finals appearance. Look at what was gained and what was lost. Lively, PJ and Gafford might not be on the team had we not lost the last two games. All three were instrumental in our playoff run. No team SHOULD BE FORCED to play their best players. Maybe from Now on just set the draft order at game 60 to avoid tanking. What’s the likelihood any of those teams will win their last 20 games lol? Or you can say who really cares about a San Antonio vs Chicago matchup late in the season? Regardless anything we can do to finally end the outrageous luck San Antonio has had in lotteries would be a good thing 😂……
Feels weird to even insinuate that OKC might regret drafting Cason Wallace, especially since the team went out and signed Isaiah Hartenstein to fill a role that Derrick Lively II would potentially have provided if OKC had wanted to go that direction. There is nothing wrong with OKC having excellent redundancy with defensive guards and Cason was incredibly efficient in the few times he was asked to provide offense.
@@Mdksupreme1 it’s not an exaggeration I watched almost every single Okc game and I can tell you that he is the most consistent shooter on our team and that’s on a team that was top 5 in offense and top 3 in 3 pt percentage. Literally just look at his stats and the facts will speak for themselves.
Yeah but that tank loss to the bulls was game changing. If Dallas wins that game the Bulls probably get the 10th pick and Dallas falls at 11 which means the pick goes to NY and they (or GS or the Lakers) get Lively. As a Mavs fan, this bought Luka 3-5 more years of patience. If the Mavs win it all in 25 or 26, Luka will probably end his career in Dallas and I really think Lively might be the 2nd best player on the Mavs by 2026.
You exaggerate the tanking for Wemby. Yea bad teams willingly stayed bad and teams stuck in purgatory finally decided to pull the plug. Its not like we saw championship level teams trade their entire rosters for 2nd round picks.
No he did not exagerrate, utah literally gave away all their good role players for westbrook who they immediately waived, san antonio traded dejounte in preparation, and a bunch of other stuff, he definitely didn't exagerrate it
you shouldn't have covered the Thompson twins together. Amen is at a different level as a defender and playmaker. He really doesn't need a jumpshot to stick in the league. Ausar is more of an offball/secondary creator so he definitely needs a jumpshot. His defense relies more on gambling and using his overwhelming physical tools, but his discipline isn't there.
yeah, honestly the Houston Rockets were using them kind of like Aaron Gordon which might be a perfect fit for him since he’s literally good at everything else except his jumpshot the fact he can be a 1/4 makes him a real weapon to use because he’s driving /athleticism is unmatched and he’s like a really good rebounder and excellent play maker, so yeah, he honestly probably could get away with not having a jumper but Ausar I don’t think he can honestly because especially the way Detroit uses him .
Ausar is definitely a better and more disciplined defender than Amen. He could’ve made an all defensive team if he was in a different situation. Amen is really only better at ball handling, passing accuracy, and he’s a little more athletic. Ausar is a little better at everything else. They’re close and very similar as players though.
@@obi3924 not true at all. If ausar was as good as Amen at defense he wouldn’t have been benched for the second half of the year. Ausar gambles all the time and he’s really good at it, hence the huge stock numbers. But amen’s defense is much more impactful because he’s smarter about when he jumps passing lanes and goes for blocks.
@@Adbar10XDAusar got benched because Monty Williams was a garbage coach and Detroit desperately needed spacing (something that starting Ivey/Ausar/Duren together couldn’t accomplish).
Kobe Bufkin was injured or was at the g-league for the most part but he will be the backup PG and he will be a good defensive guard for a team that did not really have that option last year.
Minutes will definitely be there for Cason on OKC next season. Especially with giddy gone. Caruso can play at the 2 or 3 and Cason is an off ball 1 or 2. Cason as a rookie was asked to guard Kyrie and Luka. You don’t reduce a players minutes after having him do that
completely disagree with the scoot take. he took a huge step up in the final months of the season, PLUS, with his potential and skillset, you just can't bench him. Same goes for the thompson twins.

If you're Portland then just start Scoot and see what happens. I was so excited about what Scoot and Sharpe could be as the most freakishly athletic backcourt ever. It's a shame he's probably not going to be a John Wall or even a De'Aaron Fox but there is still time. And if it doesn't work out they're in the Cooper Flag lottery
Giving up on a 19 year old is actually insane.
they will need to trade simons and grant to actually be able to rebuild
Bruh has 0 idea what he talking bout
Anthony, black literally shot like 40% from three😂
Cason Wallace, 42% from 3: "inconsistent shooter" @@dsbeats5657
@@dsbeats5657 On 1.4 attempts. I'm a big Anthony Black fan and thought that Tucker undersold how good he was. But citing his 3pt percentage isn't doing your argument any favors.
@@rome8180but you can’t say he’s bad at shooting if there’s nothing backing that up.
@@dsbeats5657he has upside but he hasn’t proved he’s a shooter at all.
The Point guard position is the hardest position to play. He should rebound like a Jalen Suggs
I was a Brandon Miller guy from start and I am very happy to be correct
Scoot averaged 17, 3.5, 6.5 on 41% shooting and 36% from 3 btw but you don't watch so you probably wouldn't know
in the last 25
@@zebgunnarsson1302…that’s not that crazy
I initially wanted Scoot for Charlotte before the draft actually happened, but when I watched more tape on Brandon Miller and started looking at what folks I trust wanted the Hornets to do, I felt that Miller was the better option for them at 2 simply because he was a better fit position wise. Turns out, he was a better fit ability wise too. If the Hornets hit on their home run swing in this most recent draft and at least get a decent compliment to Miller and a healthy LaMelo, that team might actually start making some noise.
Miles Bridges averaged 21, 7, and 4.. Mark Williams averaged a Double Double.. And once he came to Charlotte Tre Manns averaged 12,7,8.. Off the bench mostly.. Charlottes there tbh.. The offseason adds of Tidjane from the draft, Josh Green from Dallas, and the vet signings of Taj and Seth Curry make them a 6 to 4th seed tbh.. The ONLY problem they have is health.. But if healthy watch the Hornets be AT LEAST the 6 seed..

Ricky Council IV playing more physical and improving on shooting and creating contact to making big plays in the paint
I think the Problem that Scoot has is that he’s Forced into the Shoes of Damian Lillard, To Fill his Spot and I think it got to him at the Start of the Season.
I still have a lot of Faith in him.
scoot is going to be a top 20 player next season. watch
As a blazer fan that's a bit much
*Top 20 2nd year player
The Scoot Henderson disrespect is actually insane. He averaged 14 points and the most assists per game for all rookies.
Yet you have the majority of nba fans calling him a bust. Insane world to live in
A lot of NBA fans were not watching Scoot at the end of the season. Scoot looked really good at the end of the season.
@@Kennyisdarkvanilla He averaged nearly 19 points a game in his last 10 and not enough people are talking about that
14ppg on 38% shooting is horrendous.
@@pnwdevvthe last 10 games of the season are a facade. Trust me. I remember Obi Toppin going off the last 10 games of the 2022 season and everyone was fooled that he "figured it out". Nobody is trying those last 10 games so scrubs numbers get inflated.
@@patrickoakley7890 as I said, go check his last game averages. Besides he was putting up almost similar numbers to Russell Westbrook his rookie season.
Why didn’t he talk about Gradey?
Scoot is going to be fine. We had our expectations to high for a small teenage guard. Hes going to be out for blood next season
I still have hope for scoot. Majority of the g league ignite got better at their 3rd season. Scoot needs a vet with him tho.
anthony black shot 39% from three ??????
Very low volume though.
keyonte george better
Bro throwing that 39% around when the dude is only attempting 1.5 3s a game…
@@rome8180 cody williams shot 42% on lower volume in college and projects as a great shooter, sporting logically just yapping
@@freezybreezy1001low PT. he was averaging like three 3PA per 36 on 39%
God I wish the warriors could rebuild bc they have a lot of young talent and if they could tank and get someone in the next couple of drafts they would be crazy. Imagine like cam boozer with potz kuminga and such. But Currys there so that's not happening
Keep going man it’s getting better
Dallas’ tank job last season led directly to their finals appearance. Look at what was gained and what was lost. Lively, PJ and Gafford might not be on the team had we not lost the last two games. All three were instrumental in our playoff run. No team SHOULD BE FORCED to play their best players. Maybe from
Now on just set the draft order at game 60 to avoid tanking. What’s the likelihood any of those teams will win their last 20 games lol? Or you can say who really cares about a San Antonio vs Chicago matchup late in the season? Regardless anything we can do to finally end the outrageous luck San Antonio has had in lotteries would be a good thing 😂……
The thing was people don’t watch college basketball. Brandon was clear best in the ncaa. So these scoot fascinations was insane
Brandon miller is such a sweetheart ❤☺️
am I wrong did Trayce Jackson Davis from GSW went 55 not 57 ?
Feels weird to even insinuate that OKC might regret drafting Cason Wallace, especially since the team went out and signed Isaiah Hartenstein to fill a role that Derrick Lively II would potentially have provided if OKC had wanted to go that direction. There is nothing wrong with OKC having excellent redundancy with defensive guards and Cason was incredibly efficient in the few times he was asked to provide offense.
Bro really called Cason Wallace an inconsistent shooter 😂
He’s the most consistent player and shooter in the whole draft
Now that's a horrible lie, he definitely isn't, stop the exagerration
@@Mdksupreme1 it’s not an exaggeration I watched almost every single Okc game and I can tell you that he is the most consistent shooter on our team and that’s on a team that was top 5 in offense and top 3 in 3 pt percentage. Literally just look at his stats and the facts will speak for themselves.
@@undeadnlegend582 ALL LIES, you have ZERO ball knowledge, Jordan Hawkins is the most consistent shooter in the draft, stop that lame talk
Bro even if dallas won the last 2 games they would have missed the Play in.
Lively is special man, so so underrated
He is 2nd or 3rd best player in the draft. And his upside is stupid high.
🎯
yeah, honestly the Houston Rockets were using them kind of like Aaron Gordon which might be a perfect fit for him since he’s literally good at everything else except his jumpshot the fact he can be a 1/4 makes him a real weapon to use because he’s driving /athleticism is unmatched and he’s like a really good rebounder and excellent play maker, so yeah, he honestly probably could get away with not having a jumper but Ausar I don’t think he can honestly because especially the way Detroit uses him .
Kobe Bufkin was injured or was at the g-league for the most part but he will be the backup PG and he will be a good defensive guard for a team that did not really have that option last year.
what’s your opinion on gradey he had a good jump in production after mid january
Scoot reminds me of Dennis smith jr
degenerate take
10:01 Dallas was taking Lively either way.
I guess 13 pick doesn’t exist in 2023 smh
Minutes will definitely be there for Cason on OKC next season. Especially with giddy gone. Caruso can play at the 2 or 3 and Cason is an off ball 1 or 2. Cason as a rookie was asked to guard Kyrie and Luka. You don’t reduce a players minutes after having him do that
He doesn't know what he's talking about
I feel like this draft will be known as having a bunch of great player. Maybe 5 all stars or even a bit more
Scoot & Westbrook are twins
Whyd you skip gradey?
Anthony Black isn’t going anywhere. Your Magic insight was quite poor.
Miller was always the correct pick for the hornets I said it before the draft and after whenever everyone was clowning them
Brandon miller stats looked better bc Melo was out. Im just salty bc i had the under on his points lol
Ben Sheppard started games in the ECF as a rookie but I we won’t mention him I guess
completely disagree with the scoot take. he took a huge step up in the final months of the season, PLUS, with his potential and skillset, you just can't bench him. Same goes for the thompson twins.
KEEP POUNDING!!!!
Couldn't be bothered to put Amen Thompson's footage on when you're talking about him?
There was a comment in a random video I watched about this class and about Wemby in particle that was absurd to me, dude said Wemby is a bust because he didn’t live up to his potential as a rookie since he wasn’t a top 10 player in the league as a rookie and he only averaged 21 pts and 10rbs and was dead serious too🤣🤣
Your houston commentary is horrible, amen & cam are potential trade pieces but podz is a foundational piece for the warriors…okay 😂
Where do u get the b roll footage without copyright?
Cason Wallace mentioned 💯
Clicked on the video for Gradey because he was in the thumbnail with a grade but he was the only lottery player not mentioned……. Did u even watch him post allstar break??
Scoot Henderson is very Westbrookian without the passing.
cason wallace inconsistent shooter he shot over 41% ???
Another guy in this draft that wasn’t talked about due to injury is darik whitehead with the nets rebuilding I wanna see what he can do this upcoming season hopefully he stays injury free and doesn’t get sent to the Long Island nets
Keyonte george has a way higher celling then J.C
I was looking forward to his take on Jalen hood but he skipped him
Jaquez lowkey has all star potential and can easliy see him averaging 20+ in the future among with other bad takes this video is pretty bad 💀
In 5 years Brandon Miller will be the best OVERALL player from this class.. I guess people just act like he wasnt going crazy with poster dunks and CRAZY 3pt shooting.. But he led his team better than Wemby did with arguably less (until trade deadline when he got some help).. Brandon Millers REALLY being slept on like a mf still.. Thats why when he jumps to probaly 25ppg area this year people will act so surprised but shouldnt cause, he'll probaly get up to like 30 ppg in his prime..
Neither Dort or Wallace are inconsistent shooters, this mf is a bum ….
Wasn't Aaron Wiggins in this draft at 55?
The Knicks could have had Lively if Dallas hadn't purposely thrown their last couple games that season 😭
instead they get a late pick in one of the worst drafts lol
Womp womp
CRY AND SEETHE
Cry more, kid. Knicks fans tears are so delicious😭
@@ilrosso8612I mean it’s a pretty valid thing to cry about. If Dallas had won a couple more games last year then New York woulda had lively. Instead they got a late ass pick. Shit altered both teams

who would he have to overtake in the 10th spot because i don't think he goes any higher
You skipped lakers at 17?
It's too early for anyone but wemby to really know who they are.
