These comments are the problem with 2k community. What Tutes is trying to say is that 2k25 is “wired” the same way as previous 2ks. They didn’t add in any special reasonings, or algorithms, or bias. All 2k has done is adjust the sliders in a way that ratings don’t matter as much. And because ratings don’t matter as much, the possibility of what can happen goes up. It’s a problem with 2k, I personally hate it, but it’s not a special RNG code like people are claiming.
After getting lethal zones, learning my jumpshot, learning to rhythm shoot, buying boost, buying gatorade, plugging in controller, using ethernet cord instead of wifi, playing on lower frames, and still missing a wide open jumper with takeover just sends me over the top😂
Same I got the marksman badge to help me out more. I swear I shot better without that mf🤣 remember that shooting buff they gave us. I was greening way more with square I swear they reverted that shit🤣
@@Teangothey have no other competitors so what other basketball game are we gonna play if not 2k? Imo they should stop tryna change stuff every year making the game worse n instead fix the little tweaks in the games we liked and then implement patches catered to the masses.
Basically what I’m getting from this series is that in certain aspects the sliders are what makes things inconsistent, in my eyes if something inconsistent… it’s random. You can spin it however you want, but if one game you’re greening every shot, the next you can’t time anything with the same visual cue release… it’s random. Despite latency in previous years I was able to shoot anywhere between 65-75%, so I don’t find that as an explanation either. Same with everything else you just said like rebounding passes, etc. That being said I agree I don’t think there’s a god saying you’re going to miss this shot or not get that rebound, etc. but at the end of the day the inconsistency is what makes 2k25 random and that’s why the term RNG gets thrown around. This is not a good mechanic for what has always been more so a competitive game than a simulation game. And yes randomness has been in every 2k but it’s not as blatant and poorly implemented as 2k25. I’m not sure what else you would call a speed up or slow down for no reason (full stamina, high stability, etc.), a poor rebound animation with legend rebound chaser or a terrible pass with 90+ pass accuracy other than random.
Randomness is fine in moderation. There's just some stuff that just doesn't make logical sense. Take other competitive games for example like counterstrike. There is randomness in your first AK47 bullet fired vs other games they have a "pure" accuracy for that first shot where the bullet goes exactly to the center of your crosshair. In counterstrike the bullet has a bit of a window it could technically go through so it's not necessarily perfectly in the middle of your crosshair. Some players didn't like that(it might've even been changed at this point tbh) and compared that to other games like Valorant. Claiming that if it was truly to be competitive, it wouldn't have that "randomness" or "inconsistency." With that being said I believe even in games like Valorant there is randomness in the bullets following the first shot for "realism" of the kickback of a gun, but that is deemed okay by the community. As far as 2k goes or other games for that matter, some level of randomness and "inconsistency" is expected. It's when you crank up the inconsistency too much that people get annoyed. If my 99 pass build can't make a simple pass from halfcourt to the corner without causing the receiver to stumble, there's probably a bit too much "randomness" going on there. If I have 25 pass, that sort of thing should be expected. I think with shooting you need to almost just find the middle ground of a "pure" green window that is so small that percentages are lower without moving the green window around in the shot. I say that as some one who shot almost 80% in 2k24(60-70% in previous 2ks) and is ranging from 45-55% over the seasons in 2k25. Adding things like inconsistent gathers to even speeding up shots from different angles on the court or whatever is not providing a consistent basis to determine skill gap. The release queue changes every game so you have to find it every game and then adjust that on top of all the other inconsistencies. It just makes worse players struggle more and better player get annoyed imo. I can take being bad at the game because I can't find the window. I don't enjoy being bad at the game because they've over complicated shooting.
I'm with you on this! If the randomness was just tuned down a little (Not exactly sure how that works) I think it would be a great experience! I'm mostly talking about shooting, especially wide open shots. Everything else can be affected by other players like rebounding, losing the ball, getting a bad dunk/ Layup animation but shooting wide open is just you versus the game. Wide opens (no one around) should go in just a little more, but maybe I just suck lol
@@detroitboy52289 25 is so close to being a good 2k but is definitely being held back by the inconsistency. The only thing consistent about the game.. is the inconsistency.
Out here going 1-9 from 3 on a 99 3 ball player with LEGEND set shot… Then i’m on a stretch with 83 3 ball and set shot on gold and I’m out here sniping everything. It’s just a bad, poorly programmed game.
No it's still RNG, it's just not to the degree that people spout online. The fact that the green window moves on each shot release is why the game is pure dog shit. They're punishing majority of the player base because they can't find a legitimate fix for cheaters. It would be like if the NBA made everyone play with one hand tied behind their back, because 25% of players are using PEDs. It's just flat out ridiculous. And for the people who are going to say that 2K24 was too easy, it wasn't. For the top 5-10% of players, sure. 90% of my games were played in solo rec, and while I shot 70% from three, I used to see countless people shooting 2/7 1/8 1/5 in the rec. So it wasn't "too easy" for everyone, just the top players. Now dudes who were shooting 70% are shooting 50. Players who shot 50, are barely shooting 40. And the players who shot 40% last year are barely above 35%....all because 2K are incapable of implementing actual anti-cheat against zen users. Never thought I'd see a 2K worse than 2K18 but here we are....
@@ImSwiftLy2k don’t realize this shid doesn’t even punish cheaters, it punishes the skilled players, it makes skilled players appear to be casuals bc you can leave them open and on any given game they can go 1-6 from 3 and lose. But cheaters always win bc the find new scripts and new methods so there’s no other point than to just ban them. 2k stupid ahhess are putting in an anti-cheat for pc but not for console like wtf who plays PC 2k lmao 🤣 this is why we hate the company. They lucky I love basketball.
@@ImSwiftLy I completely agree with your argument, but can we agree that shooting 70% (or higher) from 3 is just RIDICULOUS 😂 the shooting might feel inconsistent, but if you look at the numbers were all shooting on par with actual NBA players. Curry (in his best season) was shooting 43% from 3 lol, 2k has brainwashed us into thinking that 35-38% range is terrible, but that’s pretty damn good shooting percentages. In that regard I don’t mind shooting in 2k25. They just need to do away with the random shot timing and make it slightly more consistent.
Yup, I have 93 pass acc on my center HOF break starter and randomly my player will throw the ball at the feet of the person I’m passing to that’s legitimately no more than 20 feet away from me , that should never happen
Idk why tutes even makes these videos, he can explicitly list all the reasons why this isn’t true, and explain why you might think that and smooth brains will still come into the comments like “nah bro I play a lot it’s def RNG” 😂😂😂
Yea the RNG is game to game, most ppl think it’s shot to shot. If I have good games I’m gonna have 2 subpar shooting games. If I go 3 games with 0 turnovers I’m not gonna be able to catch passes or avoid passing it off people backs or my passes will have worse animations while ppl going for the blitz steal for a game.
My one conspiracy theory that I actually believe is that the sliders change throughout the game when one team pulls too far ahead to try and even things out. It just happens *far* too consistently that once one team goes 10-15 points clear in Rec, the losing team will start to get more bullshit rebounds, steals, contested shots, and whites going in. I notice this when I'm on the losing team too so it's not just being salty. I call them "welfare rebounds/steals/points" in my head. The easiest way to see it is to keep track of AI shot % in close games vs blowouts. I've seen it happen twice in a 3 game span, in big blowouts where the final shot by the losing team is a chuck from full-court by the AI, and the ball has gone in. Personally I'm not against some RNG in the game, to stop it feeling completely stale. There are a million factors in why a player in real life might miss an open shot or throw a bad pass, which can't be accurately modelled in a video game. So adding a bit of randomness is ok in that respect. If I am right though, and they are fudging to try and help teams come back and make closer games, that is wrong I think because it is specifically *not* random.
I'll take your theory even further. I think they have an established schedule on how to tweak the sliders every year, which is why all the content creator have similar complaints around the same time every year.
this ain’t even conspiracy it’s real bc it’s an algorithm that’s been in the game for A DECADE. it’s just MAD obvious this year. Play mycareer on HOF you will very clearly see they will literally force the game to stay close and within 1-2 possessions even against the worst teams. No matter how good or smart you play the game will intentionally make sure the other team gets a chance. I’ve literally called plays before it even happens over 100x this year. It’s NEVER been this bad
Agreed. I love team chemistry because it rewards good play but I hate how strongly it needs the team with low chemistry. We have low chemistry for a reason, why make them that much worse 😭
I been tryna get my squad to understand this. It’s annoying because you gotta stay focused and make the right play every possession because if you throw and dumb turnover it’s like they immediately go on a run no matter what and vice versa
For the average/ lower skilled player this game caters to you whether you understand that or not. Here’s a great example, when you’re down 30 in the rec center, watch how magically most of your open shots are gonna be green. Once you get to 10-13 points away from the other team they start to miss again normally. 2k also allows you to have normal release timing, with square it sucks, with stick you can easily shoot 5/10 every game or maybe better off of straight whites.
Thank you for saying this. I realized 2k does this with rebounds also. They’ll give the “lower skilled” op way more rebound early on in the game. Then will let the “higher skilled” player catch up later on if they haven’t quit from frustration. Had a game where me and the op both had 24 rebounds after a double OT. There are way more OTs this year in my opinion. Think this is a coincidence?
@@YoungkillaJJ21 if it doesn’t cater to you guys, why would 2k put RNG in shooting? They don’t want better players to absolutely destroy you by making 60-70% of their open shots. You can look it up, 2k has purposely made sure that even if you time your 3p correctly every time for 10 jumpshots, the algorithm will make you miss at least 2 or 3. This added along with all the variability in shot timings has made this game very inconsistent for people who are good while at least making sure lower skilled players can be somewhat viable
Sliders still are scripting the games outcome, thus still worjing just like RNG . So replacing the word still doesn't change the issue that nothing under the hood should be impacting game outcomes. It's that simple RNG, scripting, or sliders. Whatever people want to call it, my stance is the same it shouldn't be in the game. It kills true competition.
After playing 1,000 theater 3v3 games I noticed there is a script based on rating, play style and the score of the game. It’s actually fun once you realize where you are in the script .
Yep, I've noticed it to for PNO. I wish the devs would take it out. At a certain point the opponent can just press x randomly and have everything go right for them.
somewhat kinda and I noticed they make my player slower laterally and when I try to start running when I’m playing against bigger heavier and slower opponents I get that stuck in the mud feel more often
@@ytbasketball101 Exactly it’s like it’s almost better to be down 6 or 7 points it’s obvious you get a sliders boost when you’re losing. The only way to break the script as the winning team is to get an open lay up or three. If the losing team plays perfect they almost always get the game.
COD has the same issue with “skill based damage” the randomness is to ensure everyone has a good time. There aren’t as many blow outs and runaways this year. You think this is because the community got better? 😅
This. I run 100% random rec and If I start winning too much it'll start matching me with the worst players online atm. I hover between high silver to maxed purple but soon as I hit Max purple plate, it refuses to give me any decent teammates. Same with my jumper. If I have 2 really good games back to back, I'm guaranteed to not hit anything in the next game. Game has gonna to shit this year imo..
This video just made me realize that no video game is perfect. That’s the real reason why it has so many inconsistencies. Just b.s that we shell out so much money on broken products
There's the answer guys. Its not that difficult to understand that the sliders are doing this. Now if you still choose to buck at this, its probably an issue with your inability to cognitively learn & process information.
I love 2k, but this year has been rough. The shooting in this game is ridiculously hard. I’ve been trying since the game came out to master the stick. I have games where I cant miss. The next game, I can’t hit anything. It’s annoying as hell. This game is expensive and frustrating. Two combinations that aren’t good.
Imo the shooting isn’t that bad, there are other areas that piss me off more… like me being pulled out of a wide open fast break stick dunk for the 68 block 6‘4 lock to block a slow ass layup animation of my 6‘10 Edit: I know it’s just the sliders but the question of why they are set up that way still remains. I always wonder who’s in charge for this bs
any decent player who plays the game online will tell you how bad the rng is this year compared to others. people also have been calling out rng without using the words rng in 2k always. moving green windows aka random speed ups an slow downs been in the game. they let you make a couple an then miss, let you miss a couple then make. it’s never been this bad an it’s not just about following the visual cue
As a dev, I imagine adjusting the sliders does adjust the algorithms used. Take passing for example. For every pass you make, 2k has logic that essentially runs a calculation to tell you what % of of the passes from this spot, this pass accuracy rating, pass style, etc. will be successful, semi successful, or unsuccessful. When you crank up or down the sliders, they are just adjusting that algorithm. It's not random, but to us it sort of is because we don't know that if the pass slider is on 75 and our player's pass rating is 75, that you will be successful at making a good pass only 50% of the time, semi successful 25%, and unsuccessful 25%. The only way to adjust this on our end is making a player with higher pass accuracy. If we up our build to 90 pass accuracy and the slider stayed at 75, maybe the success rate jumps to 60% and semi successful to 30% with unsuccessful being the remaining 10%. This is also why you'll see 25 steal builds still get lane steals. The slider and algorithm gives them with good positioning and timing the ability to still get a steal, but the majority of the time you'll get an bad animation and the ball will go sailing by to it's intended target. Free throws are perfect for this. If you shoot 100 slightly early releases that give you a "94%" make rate response from 2k, that's exactly what it means. Roughly 94 out of a 100 will be makes and the remaining 6 will be misses. You may in the rec game get the miss because that is just how stats work. It's not 2k making you miss randomly, it's just a fact of statistics and probability which in this case is based on 2k's algorithms since you didn't time it perfectly. Either time it better and/or upgrade to 99 free throw to not miss those.
The green windows move tho, that’s not really user error. The errors are built into the game. Real nba players are humans that make mistakes but people playing 2k are ALSO humans and make mistakes as well. I can miss by myself I don’t need 2k forcing me to miss
Great work tutes! I think 2k Did a good job this year with a lot of things outside of the gameplay. The clips you shared in this video show a few examples of exactly whats wrong with the game! (besides the per game VC wages, compared to a real life NBA salary & the spending power gap) The terrible spinning/falling out of bounds Madden/NFL catch animations, the ball hitting the side of the backboard or being shot at the back of it., These types of unnecessary, unrealistic, trolling types of animations are what's preventing 2k25 from being one of the Greatest!
I also noticed they make my player slower laterally and when I try to start running when I’m playing against bigger heavier and slower opponents I get that stuck in the mud feel more often
I mean tutes I definitely brought this up in the comments on your other video th-cam.com/video/D_vK5cqJtTY/w-d-xo.html&lc=Ugwr7dl3mQye9WYxCp54AaABAg&si=INSPJsd2w9QD2qPh You’re asking why, it’s to get people to make more builds. It’s a business tactic. They can hotfix and make the game feel totally different. One day you have an 80 3 and it feels enough because the sliders are up. Next time they make it so only 95 and up threes are consistently hitting so you think you need a high 3 point build. You’re saying we need to come together for feedback. The way we do that is by slowing down how many builds we make until the game is more consistent. The permanent solution is to make sliders based on community votes. That way the community actually decides what should and shouldn’t be overpowered. I’m sure there’s issues with that but that’s the first thing that comes to mind
10000%. Gameplay & movement not the same as other 2Ks and people are still struggling with that 2 months later lol. It’s the low bball IQ players and you can tell, because these are the same ppl you queue up with and do the same move and launch the same stupid shots.
Simple fix don’t play 2K as much and the sliders will be in your favor. Go outside get some fresh air enjoy time with your families stop spending money on the game play every now and then turn the game on and turn it off. Then the sliders will be for you because now you’ll apart of the casual community
I notice a lot of players don't really play back to back game. Even after a win or a great game. As soon as the game finish players leaves. This mostly happen in random REC.
there’s definitely some form of comeback algorithm if u play random rec yk what i’m talking bout, this year’s 2K i’ve only had 1 blowout game where my team or the other won. y’all know this year u can’t even be comfortable with a 15 point lead and all of a sudden they right back in the game
can you show the people the difference in animations in 60 fps and 144+ fps on a slow motion camera, because a lot of the console players have no idea how higher fps looks like in real life on a good monitor. please.
From what I’ve noticed in the game it seems like the game wants everyone to shoot around the same percentage hence why if you’re a better player who can shoot more consistently than others if you try and use low risk or medium risk you won’t make as many whites or any at all compared to someone who can’t shoot consistently to balance out the game.
Hey Tutes, been watching you for years. Love the channel. Feels like you're proving the point of the community complaints and calling it a different name. That's where it starts to seem like you're defending 2K. "Adjusting the sliders" seems to make the catches random, even if it can be said that under the hood there are many factors taken into consideration. From a gameplay standpoint, if there's nothing the player can observe and take into account to force a different outcome, it's random is it not? The skillgap should have veterans take those factors into account and overcome them, while someone new to the game and lacking experience cannot. If we can't modify our behavior in such a way that we can prevent a specific outcome, it shouldn't be in the game.
I always do feel like the shooting isn’t very consistent it’s very inconsistent, I use rhythm shooting and one game I can go 6/6 the next they will make me go 3/5 it could be because of latency but there’s is no way to see that. I use a monitor and a LAN and my internet is consistent I do think it’s just that they people the sliders low for shooting, to make it harder but if you are using high risk then eventually the game. Will make you miss and then you can’t find a rhythm, 2K basically handicap everyone on the same shooting percentage around 50 percent. To me there is no difference between a 75 three or a 90 three or a 99, they game will make you miss and sometimes if not a lot of times make you shoot bad. Sometimes two games in a row or even maybe 3 if you are lucky.
2k just need to take out the moves that let you slide off ppl everytime and I’ll be fine and if you don’t know I’m talking about those starter 4 crossover moves just trash
There is RNG. Go play proving grounds and you’ll see the full affects of it. One team goes up early and starts blowing the other team out, the team that is up will start playing like ass, getting bump steals against them, missing wide open 3s, getting lane steals against them left and right etc. it’s like clockwork, every single game. It doesn’t matter if I’m on the winning team or losing team.
But tutes it’s like an eco system of RNG. Jump shots are on RNG, defensive contest, rebounding. And they all influence each other so it creates a butterfly effect where one RNG changes another RNG which changes someone else’s RNG. You add that all throughout a whole game and it feels like we don’t have control. They added a lot of “real life animations” and the RNG chooses which one works “best” in every scenario.
Fix the servers imo a majority of the issues people are having with rng animations and lag spike comes from the servers be trash. I have gone 6/6 3s in one game with little to no latency issue taking open clean looks and then the next feel like I'm playing over sea and hitting 1 or 2 shots even though I'm taking the same damn shot. Or give us a latency overlay so we can see how much to adjust our shots.
The actual RNG is 2k changing the speed of your jumpshot for no apparent reason. Believe me i get it if a defender is closing out or its a contested shot but a wide open corner 3 shouldn't be a different speed almost every shot
RNG makes a lot of sense for many stats except shooting. I understand RNG with a contested shot, but wide open it should be completely up to the timing of the user. Also passing lane steals should always be steals if you hit the button at the perfect time in the best spot, no matter if the passer has 99 pass acc
I was playing a dude recently, who kept spamming double-cross/ behind the back speed boost like your typical 5’9 guard. He’d do it for like 10 seconds and then shoot some fading corner 3. CLANK. “Bro I got a 99 3 pointer, this game trash on god with the RNG shit bro” I suspect that guy is most of these comments.
I have a question, then what about loose balls steals because Everytime you get block in online modes such as the rec, the other team will 100 percent get the ball back. This happen last year but this year it’s even worser, you don’t even feel a difference with pass rating this year online I have a 96 pass accuracy and people will drop the basketball out of their hands consistently. It could be the sliders which I agree with you on, but it seems like everything goes to the other team 💯percent of the time even when you are playing great defense. There are time when you get can’t get the loose balls steals and I event seen people do lay ups and hit the bottom of the net. People are getting tacking out of contact dunks, lob passes not activating correctly. I have 91 strength and have high interior defense yet people will hit very lay ups in the lane. The game just very unbalance and it always favors the other team instead of the team that is playing the right way. They give the other team too many chances. Merry 🎄 Tutes keep putting in the work, thank you for what you do for the community on giving us valid information.
Tutes, I appreciate your videos and how you try to dissect the developers intent behind mechanics. But I'll add to that the bigger issue is the lack of transparency by 2k interactive and the abysmal job that the "journalists" do every year when asking the developers about their upcoming game. They ask scripted questions about player ratings, graphics, and tattoo accuracy instead of the most important questions about matchmaking, VC values when creating players, RNG, momentum meters, latency, badge weighting, and shooting mechanics. It's madness and the lack of transparency is why players are so frustrated with NBA 2k and the enthusiasts who "cover" NBA 2k.
I swear I remember that mike said the difference between difficulties is how much a user can control the player and the game. So maybe its js the custom difficulty in online mode that reduces more user control to the game. For example, pro difficulty in mc game is a lot different from park game imo. U do get more good animations and control than park games.(Im not talking about latency or ping) Consider my opinion ❤
The sliders shouldn't make things different from game to game, unless they're changing our individual sliders from game to game. I get what you're saying about them causing inconsistncies in general, but those inconsistencies should stay relatively level between games. Doesn't make sense to dominate one game and then your character isn't listening to your inputs the next game just off of sliders that didn't change between games.
Tutes your magnum opus should be playing/ notating variables & animations in x amount of 5v5 games and then trying to recreate those circumstances with your own sliders to get an educated guess on what 2ks sliders may be set at
Dumb question, but do custom sliders affect online play? It seems like the passing sliders do, not sure what "weight" of the pass means. Not sure if box out assistance does anything as well. My guess is that it shouldn't.
They need to not make the game based off animations. And if they do, they need to make tiers of animations. For example: Say you have a 95 and higher layup you unlock animations only YOU HAVE. I shouldn’t have the same animations a player with a 65 layup has.
This is on point. Back In the day we called it 2k cheese 🧀 lol because they nurf players after a certain amount of games. Bad games are built into their algorithm. It seems like it’s to make the game more competitive and balanced but you can easily see it
the blowby/cutoff consistency is annoying. how do i have decent strength, perimeter d, agility and speed with good defensive positioning but bc a ball handler has slightly more speed w ball he’s able to run at me and blowby with no takeover or even a dribble move
It’s a mix of everything. Sliders, rng, momentum. Some games I be playing amazing then next thing u know top rep pulls and and my player forgets how to play basketball, how to jump for a rebound how to dunk, how to reach in a lane. I think it has a skill based sliders and rng. With the dunk meter I never mis time my dunk but get very early or very late, open or contested it’s always random.
I always thought I subscribed but I’d always tune in and like . But honestly atp them actually buffing shooting would help and for future references they shouldn’t put rng in shooting and make it more prevalent . Also getting rid of button delay because there was a twitter post before showing what button delay actually does . One thing what you think will be the gameplay patch for season 4
Yo, I got my offensive rebound on 99 (legend) and my defensive rebound on 92 (gold). Does having the legend badge making the d board act like hall of fame?
latency is real because sometimes out of nowhere my game lag/freeze mind you i use a wire with my controller & I also use Ethernet , after it freeze I can feel a whole delay in everything I do it's so noticeable I have to close the app and restart my whole 2k for example if I move or jump my character will literally react 2 seconds later
Regardless RNG is impacting every aspect of this game and when you have bad catching missed wide open dunks, lays, and shots the game is not fun period making this the worst I've ever played fr👈💯
all sports games have simulated momentum, its literally bben datamined from the files of numerous EA sports games before and 2k undoubtedly does the same
Video is invalid if we say…I DONT THINK!!!!. That means it could be RNG. Each mode is different. We can’t act like it’s not possible if we know they adjust sliders on every play. If you look at career, there are arrows showing when you lose stats. The game is made to make sure everyone has some ups and downs. They just want people playing.
Anybody who thinks the game is all RNG is bad at this game. They dont understand how counter animations based on attributes work. They dont understand that they aren't faced with the same latency or even defensive builds each game they play. These are the same people that cried about new mechanics they refused to learn, because the youtubers they look to think for them didnt get it at first either. Also, their criticial thinking is shit poor
I have over 700 hours into this game. And I know I'm above average at it. I honestly bet that content creators don't ever or hardly ever get nerfed. 2k benefits from ya'll who promote it. As a regular player it is blatantly obvious that we are getting nerfed and buffed. I could list off more examples than I have fingers of this happening. One simple one is movement speed like some other people brought up. I'll be moving like a Ferrari for a couple games, also while no nobody's off ball pest works. Can just glide by ppl without doing any dribble moves. Even ppl with super high defense. Next games (about 2/3rds of the time). My players move like a snail and my 90 strength power forward is being stopped by a scrawny point guard's off ball pest. Also, my 99 perim dfence SF who also has decent strength and high agility has legend on ball menace. Some games (a quarter of the time) my guy is glued on anyone he's guarding. Like there's a magnetic force pulling him on to 5'9 meta cheeseballers , not letting them do a thing. Then the other 3/4ths of the time I have the opposite affect occur where I am literally being pushed away from who I am guarding so they can easily glide by me. Its not stats. How does a 99 defensive lock have this occur against 85 overall bronzes? Rigged, scripted, algorithm is all set up for profit maximization (which is to favour the casuals/big money spenders).
I started using rhythm shooting and it was way more consistent until the last patch. Now all of a sudden I know I’m not changing my timing but but the feedback will say very early or very late on the push timing but I use the exact same timing on the next few shots and they’re all green I don’t get it
This shit just sucks regardless they need to adjust sliders in so many areas of the games.. I have a 90 pass acc and still get shit animations A LOT .. even passing into the defender straight in front of me even though irl I would just take a step one way or another to pass around them 2k just passes it into the defenders body. Then the dunking definitely needs adjusted.. so many dunks just don’t work in this game.
One thing I don't get is how people can defend 2K here? If you think its a skill issue then explain why most sweaty players are shooting 50% from 3? 50% is what I shoot and it's terrible. Not because of I'm timing it bad but because this game sucks. Players who shot 40% from 3 all the other years and are shooting 40% this year aren't gonna notice a difference because they're use to shooting like cheeks🍑 anyways. Those are the only people defending it. People who shoot good every year know this game sucks.
I have a fix Keep the rng in everything But Higher the ratings you have more control you gain in that area For example If im low pass like 70 to 80 High the rng But if im 90+ i want less rng cause high rating means my player has honed tht skill
I'm glad someone can really understand my point.
After getting lethal zones, learning my jumpshot, learning to rhythm shoot, buying boost, buying gatorade, plugging in controller, using ethernet cord instead of wifi, playing on lower frames, and still missing a wide open jumper with takeover just sends me over the top😂
😂😂😂😂 I have been there
😂💯
Same I got the marksman badge to help me out more. I swear I shot better without that mf🤣 remember that shooting buff they gave us. I was greening way more with square I swear they reverted that shit🤣
Ngl tho thats kinda on you. You might not actually know you’re jumpshot if you’re consistently missing wide open shots
Did all this overclocked my controller so its more responsive n still miss with perfect timing
It's just a bad game that never seems to get better
I got told it’s a skill issue when I said this 😂😂😂 some people can’t get off their knees for this game
Y’all just love to complain about this game too much lol
Because y'all keep buying it knowing it's bad every year. So 2K will never fix it because you are still going to buy it regardless of how bad it is
@@ethermac9015 2k25 is trash though 2k has it's problems but 25 is something else.
Claiming that if it was truly to be competitive, it wouldn't have that "randomness" or "inconsistency."
With that being said I believe even in games like Valorant there is randomness in the bullets following the first shot for "realism" of the kickback of a gun, but that is deemed okay by the community.
@@detroitboy52289 also you don’t suck.. I went from shooting 75-80% last year to 53-58% this year. Everybody’s shooting numbers are down
Most of what you said was valid. But that’s where I disagree with you. 2K is supposed to be a simulation game.
Out here going 1-9 from 3 on a 99 3 ball player with LEGEND set shot…
Then i’m on a stretch with 83 3 ball and set shot on gold and I’m out here sniping everything.

So basically it’s not RNG, they just deliberately made the sliders terrible.
If you actually play this game you know there is rng in play....from passing to shooting to defence and dunks it's everything...rebounds everything
Yup, I have 93 pass acc on my center HOF break starter and randomly my player will throw the ball at the feet of the person I’m passing to that’s legitimately no more than 20 feet away from me , that should never happen
💯‼️‼️ITS SO CLEAR
Facts, sometimes i’m even missing wide open dunks when dunking with a square. That’s how i know it’s rng
If I am right though, and they are fudging to try and help teams come back and make closer games, that is wrong I think because it is specifically *not* random.
hy I noticed this 2k let people go on runs to keep the game closer
Definitely I realize to 18-21 they gotta turn it up to Hof or something
Nah momentum is def real but it’s more about negative and positive takeover
Think this is a coincidence?
as an average-low skilled player no it doesnt cater to that group.
@@YoungkillaJJ21 yes it does thats literally who the game was made for
@@YoungkillaJJ21 if it doesn’t cater to you guys, why would 2k put RNG in shooting?
💯
Exactly! And to add to your point, it’s basically a gambling simulation. Since nothing is under your control.
Sliders influence the Randomness of outcomes so in a way it is RnG FROM the Slider settings.
Thank you! Tendency Sliders are RNG!
COD has the same issue with “skill based damage” the randomness is to ensure everyone has a good time. There aren’t as many blow outs and runaways this year. You think this is because the community got better? 😅
Facts facts facts
@ yep same, too many players are having this same problem. 2k or the community are not going to gaslight me
This video just made me realize that no video game is perfect. That’s the real reason why it has so many inconsistencies. Just b.s that we shell out so much money on broken products
Attributes aren't that impactful in a game that was made around Attributes 😂
There's the answer guys. Its not that difficult to understand that the sliders are doing this. Now if you still choose to buck at this, its probably an issue with your inability to cognitively learn & process information.
Its easier to say rng is why they cant shoot lol
But what are sliders? It’s just another word for RNG
2k tutes at it again 🔥🔥🔥 this is the problem they need to stop f*cking with the sliders to cater to bums its unacceptable ❗️
Amazing video, Tutes. This is what the community needed. Judging from the comments, not everyone understands the video, but we definitely needed it.
Long story short..game is ass 🤣
Imo the shooting isn’t that bad, there are other areas that piss me off more… like me being pulled out of a wide open fast break stick dunk for the 68 block 6‘4 lock to block a slow ass layup animation of my 6‘10
Edit: I know it’s just the sliders but the question of why they are set up that way still remains.
Either time it better and/or upgrade to 99 free throw to not miss those.
not spending 99 attributed to still miss a free throw😂 “time it better” what a joke
(besides the per game VC wages, compared to a real life NBA salary & the spending power gap)
The terrible spinning/falling out of bounds Madden/NFL catch animations, the ball hitting the side of the backboard or being shot at the back of it., These types of unnecessary, unrealistic, trolling types of animations are what's preventing 2k25 from being one of the Greatest!
Nba2k25 could of been the beat game ever if the shooting was like nba2k24 that’s a fact
It’s a bad game but we still play this bad game every year.
First. Merry Christmas
I also noticed they make my player slower laterally and when I try to start running when I’m playing against bigger heavier and slower opponents I get that stuck in the mud feel more often
I mean tutes I definitely brought this up in the comments on your other video

You’re asking why, it’s to get people to make more builds.
Think majority of people just flat out aren’t good at this game
10000%. Gameplay & movement not the same as other 2Ks and people are still struggling with that 2 months later lol. It’s the low bball IQ players and you can tell, because these are the same ppl you queue up with and do the same move and launch the same stupid shots.
They people that’s always been good at 2k is saying the shits bad 😂 you not on ur own league my guy lmao
Simple fix don’t play 2K as much and the sliders will be in your favor. Go outside get some fresh air enjoy time with your families stop spending money on the game play every now and then turn the game on and turn it off. Then the sliders will be for you because now you’ll apart of the casual community
Yeah I'm mainly a play now online player and I'm pretty sure once you win 2 games in a row they turn your sliders down in addition to adding sbmm.
Here’s something you’ll never hear from a 2k player
“Dang I miss-timed my shot, my bad.”
I notice a lot of players don't really play back to back game. Even after a win or a great game. As soon as the game finish players leaves. This mostly happen in random REC.
this makes me realize that in 2k21 next gen if they just turned down the contact dunk slider maybe that game wouldve been good
Tutes should be the official spokesperson for the 2k Community!
Thank you for this Tutes! Great content! All these idiots getting mad at the wrong person 😂😂
there’s definitely some form of comeback algorithm if u play random rec yk what i’m talking bout, this year’s 2K i’ve only had 1 blowout game where my team or the other won. y’all know this year u can’t even be comfortable with a 15 point lead and all of a sudden they right back in the game
Sliders they say. It's the 9000 animations that the game is always processing. The game is always trying to balance itself
can you show the people the difference in animations in 60 fps and 144+ fps on a slow motion camera, because a lot of the console players have no idea how higher fps looks like in real life on a good monitor.
I always do feel like the shooting isn’t very consistent it’s very inconsistent,
I use rhythm shooting and one game I can go 6/6 the next they will make me go 3/5 it could be because of latency but there’s is no way to see that.
It’s not RNG. Most people don’t even know what it stands for. It’s just that the game is so big that people aren’t as good as they think they are
But tutes it’s like an eco system of RNG.
RNG is keeping us from shooting 60-80% from 3PT like last year it’s holding us to 35-50% this year.
RNG is the game. With shooting.
That’s simply not true,.
I'm shooting 62 from 3s in 2k25 so.....
the random shot and layup timings are maddening
CLANK.
“Bro I got a 99 3 pointer, this game trash on god with the RNG shit bro”
I suspect that guy is most of these comments.
To your point I believe we are playing on a rotating slider from game to game set by 2k to keep us in a controlled gaming experience.
Tutes your magnum opus should be playing/ notating variables & animations in x amount of 5v5 games and then trying to recreate those circumstances with your own sliders to get an educated guess on what 2ks sliders may be set at
"and now you might say ahh tutes" lmao
Harder game this year and most players don’t have it.
That's definitely not it
without default sliders my 93 pass feels like hitting a fucking slot machine everytime i throw a full court pass
I haven't played it for over a month and have no plans to return anytime soon but I still support the content
Lmao, that Anonymous dude said Tutes getting paid by 2k, L Rage Bait 3/10🤣🤣🤣
Dumb question, but do custom sliders affect online play? It seems like the passing sliders do, not sure what "weight" of the pass means. Not sure if box out assistance does anything as well. My guess is that it shouldn't.
They need to not make the game based off animations. And if they do, they need to make tiers of animations. For example: Say you have a 95 and higher layup you unlock animations only YOU HAVE. I shouldn’t have the same animations a player with a 65 layup has.
Can you test out the effectiveness of individual attribute boosts
This is on point. Back In the day we called it 2k cheese 🧀 lol because they nurf players after a certain amount of games. Bad games are built into their algorithm. It seems like it’s to make the game more competitive and balanced but you can easily see it
well said tutes!
I play trippe threat park and i always just blame the stutter/lag/delay. Seems like every game the connection changes based on the other players
I think a lot of people don’t take into effect the defenders badges and attributes as well as receiving a pass from dimer or not
the blowby/cutoff consistency is annoying. how do i have decent strength, perimeter d, agility and speed with good defensive positioning but bc a ball handler has slightly more speed w ball he’s able to run at me and blowby with no takeover or even a dribble move
I don’t get why people say the game is bad I only play 1 or 2 days a week the game feels nice to me win some loose some still win most of the time
Could it be the sliders were adjusted to compensate for all the new 3000+ proplay animations?
All these 2K players learning the term RNG😂
Yo, I got my offensive rebound on 99 (legend) and my defensive rebound on 92 (gold). Does having the legend badge making the d board act like hall of fame?
latency is real because sometimes out of nowhere my game lag/freeze mind you i use a wire with my controller & I also use Ethernet , after it freeze I can feel a whole delay in everything I do it's so noticeable I have to close the app and restart my whole 2k for example if I move or jump my character will literally react 2 seconds later
Regardless RNG is impacting every aspect of this game and when you have bad catching missed wide open dunks, lays, and shots the game is not fun period making this the worst I've ever played fr👈💯
does momentum affect sliders throughout the game?
Would you please have a test on same speed with different heights?
all sports games have simulated momentum, its literally bben datamined from the files of numerous EA sports games before and 2k undoubtedly does the same
Video is invalid if we say…I DONT THINK!!!!.
If tutes does his testing offline how accurate can his online statistics be?
Rigged, scripted, algorithm is all set up for profit maximization (which is to favour the casuals/big money spenders).
tutes ur testing proves that there is momentum/scripting controlling the sliders... that's how it works.
Can you test if high flying denier boosts ur speed still??
Tutes, it's not just animations, r nd g with momentum in gm, the gm is r nd g
AGILITY IS MORE IMPORTANT
I started using rhythm shooting and it was way more consistent until the last patch. Now all of a sudden I know I’m not changing my timing but but the feedback will say very early or very late on the push timing but I use the exact same timing on the next few shots and they’re all green I don’t get it
They should leave the damn sliders alone its ruining the game completely
So essentially we’re just playing a “polished” version of 2k23 with different sliders 😂??
This just tells me they intentionally made the game bad simple as that.
I have a fix
Keep the rng in everything
But
Higher the ratings you have more control you gain in that area
For example
If im low pass like 70 to 80
High the rng
But if im 90+ i want less rng cause high rating means my player has honed tht skill
you know its bad when you have MYCAREER guys saying its rng. how tf is mycareer rng
All this means nothing Tutes! All these babies pre purchased the game until 2k27 and got complaints locked and loaded😂
