This was indeed a lovely little corner of rural England most of us would otherwise have missed. Thank you for showing us around and explaining their history.
Everyone, support your local churches, you need them as much as they need you!

@@maxwellfan55 That's certainly very true! And we probably wouldn't have found ourselves here if we weren't looking for the churches.. Its a beautiful little village with so much more to see, we'll be returning again when we can. Glad you found it interesting, thanks for watching 😊👍

I love the ruined church, it’s so nice to see it in all its glory thanks to the volunteers who cut back all the growth that had covered it for years! It would make a cool wedding venue!!

Like we said in the video, we couldn't visit these places properly without all the effort from volunteers, they've done a grand job trying to restore and preserve what's left here. There's so many more around Norfolk just crying out for some love and attention before they fall down.. its a really shame 😞

Lovely video guys, did you not go through the ford on the Tas? Lovely little spot down there. You'll have to come down my way and have a look at the ruins of St Mary's Church in Tivetshall, one of my favourite filming locations.

Sadly not Paul, we were fixated on getting to the churches that day.. its not an area we know particularly very well but looks beautiful so definitely would like to spend abit more time looking around the area.. Your St Mary's is definitely on our to-do list as well as lots more around Norfolk and Suffolk, we're trying to get through them all which is definitely a lifetimes work here in Norfolk! 😆 Thanks for watching Paul, glad you liked it 😊👍

How about Horsey Mill. Norwich Cathedral's and the one my Brother in Law took me to I think St; Bennett's where you can see the tower was built over another structure...Thanks so much , when the cost of petrol is so high , Norfolk has lots of old airfields etc , etc thanks!

Absolutely brilliant explore, there is something romantic and mysterious about ruined churches.i had just had a rough day with my asthma and this just what i needed, very calming influence.A tonic for the heart soul and mind.Great cinematography Stu and brilliant narration from Em. Also have you been to Reepham village which has 3 Churches close together?😀👍

Thanks Paul, your positive feedback and lovely comments are very much appreciated..
Glad we were able to make you feel abit better after your bad day. 😊
When we were making this video I said to Stu that I don't expect too many of our followers to be that interested as it's just a bunch of churches but it appears I was quite wrong!
It has certainly encouraged us to make some more like this and infact set ourselves a challenge which we'll be working on soon hopefully..
We've been to Reepham a few times and yes its churches are quite interesting, definitely a story I'd like to try and tell one day..
Thanks for watching and for all your support, Em and Stu 🙂👍

No relations in Shotesham, but a clutch are buried just up the road at Stoke Holy Cross.

By the sound of it, St Martin's was belonged to a religious order while St Mary's would have been part of the diocese. The dissolution affected the orders more than diocesan churches - where the bishops could be easily replaced - also, the connection with the aristocracy with parish churches was stronger than with religious orders.
