    Fantastic video, I had the same problem & I bought the diaphragm only, then stripped it down to discover the broken Tabs!, therefore this has saved me £40 :)

    Can't thank you enough what a genius fix! I'm sure the culprit is leaving water in the flush tank and it freezing in the winter, as you know ice expands hence the damage to the weakest point. Thanks again Colin.

    Mines the electric pump model C 200 CWE but this video gave me the insight and courage to repair it. On mine the impeller was stuck after over wintering. A prise with the screwdriver and we’re back in business.THANK YOU VERY MUCH 👍👍

      This is what I do, I see a video on youtube and imitate it and it usually works, but couldn't find anything on this so decided to make one myself. Thank You.

      Thank you for your pleasant comment. As you probably understand, I'm not a pro at this video lark. but I am pretty good at sorting things out and if it helps others, then I have reached my goal.
      After this covid, thing, I am going to try and make a few of this type of videos to help you all out, and to keep my brain active LOL. Thank you again.

    Thanks for the video, my pump just gave up on me earlier today... Definitely the pump retainer at the bottom of the pump that you repaired, no doubt. Just found the part number for the bottom retainer which seems to be a weak point on these Thetfords. Part number is 23845, new part costs around £10, best place is ebay (for anyone who wants a new one) Thanks a million for the video, should really help the fixing process... Think I'll try the cable tie fix first see how I get on 👍

      Thank you for your comments. I didn't think they would do just the part I needed and thought they would only sell the whole pump, which you said they do and it was only a tenner so happy day. I fixed mine as we were at the van for a couple of weeks and would have had to do without a toilet for that time (only use it for wee's) so I had to fix it as we wouldn't get any parts until we got home. Been home for years now, and the fix is still going strong. So I love to do money making exercises. Thank you for your comment as it makes me want to do more, which I will be doing when I get back to the van after this covid..

      @@JustMeZero988 yes totally agree, I'd rather fix something than buy a replacement... Which is what I did the other day on the pump... A few cable ties and an hour of my day, job done. Solid. At least now I know the lugs won't snap off again! Thanks again for the video, certainly helped understanding how to get into the toilet unit.

    Colin you legend! 3rd day of holiday on a site where toilets are closed due to COVID and the flus bust! Same clip as on your one. It’s dark so didn’t fancy draining tank so put a used towel on the seat to catch any drips. Fixed it without detaching pipes and only 2 cable ties, result. Thanks for the video it really saved our holiday!

      Thank you for the lovely kind words. As you could probably tell, I'm not a professional, but I am a bit of a discoverer and I try to fix things if I can, If I can't then I haven't lost anything and just get a replacement if there is one. Later on, The button for the toilet compartment door was staying in and the door wouldn't lock. I stripped it down and filmed it (3 takes I did so it looked right). Got home and downloaded the files so I could edit them and I clicked the wrong button and it was bye bye video. So, I am waiting to get back to the caravan after this covid, and I am going to strip the door down again and do another video. So I am glad it helped and that was my intention and somebody doing the same has made it worth while doing the video. Thank you again.

    Great video in the nick of time. Once I removed pump found one of the clips on bottom broken. This compromised the seal at bottom and made pump output very weak.
    Using your cable tie method a repair was carried out successfully. Only addition was that I superglued hole left by broken clip. Otherwise flush water will escape through it. Flush water output now very strong and pump now empties the flush tank almost completely leaving very little to drain out through drain bung.

    Love it. Others suggest changing the bottom bit which is a tenner. Your way Is much better. Plus no more mould bleach sprayed in to kill the mould in the tank is helpful.

      Can't wait to get back to our van after this covid. I did a video on repairing the locking mechanism on the outside toilet door to the cassette and got the video home. uploaded it to my computer and ooops, clicked on the wrong button and there it was …. Gone. LOL I did 5 takes, taking it apart and putting it back together again so it looked right, and lost the lot. Keep watching as we are going back in the middle of July and I will do it again (if I can remember as it was very complicated, even for me until I got the hang of it).
      Thank you for the mention.
      Any other problems you have, I might be able to help? Happy Caravanning. 👍 👍 👍

Like you found out the hard way, I always try to youtube something I am trying to fix, to see if I can see how its done first. Thank you for your comment. I also fitted an aerial and filmed it if that helps you or anybody. Regards. Colin.

      Look up Caratech on the internet, they also have an eBay shop. Look at part nos23845 or 2373962 for the complete pump assembly (as of this morning before I found this video…).

    Hi great video 😊 What sealant would you use when replacing the cover?

    • @JustMeZero988
      @JustMeZero988  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably just an *Anti-mold Bath Sealant* or similar. The water doesn't really go that high so it will be OK. If you drive with water in it, then it might splash about a bit? but we always emptied ours whilst towing as it will affect the weight and balance whilst towing.

    • @liamsmall5852
      @liamsmall5852 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Colin Parry - Droflas yeah we always empty ours as well. Thanks for the advice, I’ve brought a new manual flush handle so this video will (hopefully) help me change it over this weekend 👍🏻

    • @robertfoster1151
      @robertfoster1151 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When I refitted pump I didn't use any sealant. This will make future pump repair/replacement easier. Before each journey I drain down flush tank so water will not be splashing around the top.
