  • Back with another part, and this is one of the toughest missions yet. One of the toughest missions in the game probably.

    Went with Mordred, Black Knight, Dagonet, and Ector for this mission, found the AOEs of both Dagonet and Ector working together to be quite useful in mob control, etc.

    The A.I. is very impressive in this game.

    Also I'm curious about the enemy types. I'm currently on my first playthrough(old faith & tyrant) and I know a lot about the early game & heroes from your videos. I've chosen Boudicea(will replace Balin) and Tristan as my vanguards because they are the strongest and unique among theme and I want to give them 2 slayer sigils so I can switch between them on different missions and they could bring A LOT of single target DPR -> but I currently don't know which would be the best, especially curious about enemies that Tristan is great against -> because of poison and damage reduction I think he is a great pair with someone like Red Knight(bleeds) and maybe Ector for burns and maybe Drgonet for CC.
    Maybe a series about the enemy types, their strong & weak sides? Counters maybe?

      I could probably cover something like that, though there isn't a whole lot to say for the most part. The short version of it is, The Lost are immune to bleed and poison. While much tankier enemies like Famorians will actually feel the effects of those status effects more because of their tankiness.

    Need your suggestion for my final 12 heroes on tyrant/old faith (my first playthough, on very hard, but it's very easy since i've seem all your videos):
    I am level 13 so far and I have to recruit the Red Knight and Lady Morgana le Fay.
    I have them divided like this:
    Buffer/CC
    1. Lady Guinevere
    2. Lady Isolde
    3. Lady Morgawse
    Arcanist/debuffer
    4. Sir Ector - He may be and option since i'm only keeping him for the relic shards, but i'm guessing those are super important
    5. Lady Morgana le Fay
    6. Sir Dagonet - Another option to dismiss and in general, a tank/dd/two support/cc are the perfect party and he is more of a debuffer
    Tank/DD
    7. Sir Mordred
    8. Red Knight - I saw your video on him and he is a hybrid, so nothing spectacular but I might only keep him for the ruthless ability, but 3% at level 15 and 4% at level 20 doesn't seem like a game changer.
    9. Sir Lanval - Yet another option since i'm only keeping him to keep all my heroes on the same level with the joust ability.
    Main DD
    10. Black Knight
    11. Lady Boundicea
    12. Faerie Knight - He is not a true main dd since he can't gain ap like the champion and the vanguard but as you well know, he is a hybrid dd/tank
    Here is my problem, I only have two true main damage dealers. I am thinking of adding/keeping Balin since atm, on level 13/14 I have some very good items for vanguard with ap and with bless/double inspire he sweeps like crazy. Balin somehow has more damage the Boudicea now since I have him on max reputation and with Boudicea I don't even have the first 10% damage.
    Am I in the right to keep Balin(i dismissed Tristan and the other ones don't have the jump ability), and if so which one should I dismiss ?
    Sir Lanval since i'm only using him to keep all my heroes close level
    Sir Ector but I find the relic ability way too good
    Red Knight ...as I'm writing this, I'm thinking that the fact that I can range select which mobs to agro seems like a good crowd control ability.

      If I had to drop one I would drop Guin or Isolde. I don't think you need both. Balin is a good sub in for Boudicea until you get her loyalty higher, which will require sending her on a few events and succeeding. Once that loyalty is similar she'll be a rock star. The Red Knight facility trait is actually deceptively strong, it's nothing super amazing, but the damage bonus is applied to their base damage so then other damage modifiers stack on top of it. So if you want to keep Balin for now until Boudicea's loyalty gets higher I'd say dump Guin or Isolde. As you get further into the game you'll only really need two characters as your main DD. Your main and a backup, the odds of you ending up with both needing to get healed should be fairly low unless you're playing pretty reckless. If you don't want to ditch Guin or Isolde, my next recommendation would be Lanval.

      @@maxxalos1267 Your experience is showing. From my point of view, I would never of thought of dismissing Guin or Isolde. Atm when I have them both in party, they seem godlike(for buffing my dd ofc). It's good to know that in the end, the Black Knight and Boudicea will be enough. Again, the only reason i'm keeping Landval is to keep him one level above my other characters so for example, if most are level 13, he will be level 14 and I can auto level up some that are 12.

    • @maxxalos1267
      @maxxalos1267  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MosCraciun777 Yea, I get keeping him for that reason. Which is why I suggested he be your alternative if you just really didn't want to get rid of isolde or guin. The xp trick is nice, but I personally don't think it's worth keeping him for. That's just my personal taste though. Going with a double Sage buffing strat works quite well. I however prefer debuff centric playstyles if I'm going Old Faith Tyrant so for me I'd only use one or the other.

    What difficulty do you play on? And do you do Ironman playthroughs?
    I'm level ~6 now and been finding Hard too easy since level ~4 when I got the core mechanics down. Are there big difficulty spikes on Hard where characters may die with missions in between being more for like optimizing grinding? Is Very Hard with Ironman suicidal if you've not beaten the game before but finding Hard to be easy? On H/VH do your characters ever die/when?
    Do you think it's better to play with the Enhanced Edition? I like the idea of making Marksmen more relevant, but bigger AP pools seems like a chore to keep up with.
    Lastly, at Camelot early game how much do you prioritize spending resources on accelerating to keep characters healthy, versus upgrades? Do you ever buy gear early game or is that mostly a waste? Do you swap gear around your characters? Like I have 3 Champions and am only keeping x2 full kits because one is usually healing.
    Thanks in advance and also for the great content.

      I play on Very Hard, I've done one Ironman run. I generally don't just because having the ability to save at specific moments of the campaign to reload later for specific moments I may want to make content out of wouldn't be possible in Ironman. The game has a couple difficulty spikes at the start of each act when you reach the new enemy types. I've seen some people do Very Hard Ironman on their first playthrough of the game. For me personally, I can't remember the last time I've had a character die. I sacrificed Brunor intentionally during his recruitment mission on my Let's Play run because I brought a bad team and didn't want to have everyone get injured. They've all had to restart a couple times, but it's doable if you're ok with that. I think it's better to play the base game all the way through at least once before swapping over to mods. I swap my best gear to whoever I'm going to bring on a mission. I generally will spend the gold to heal anyone as fast as possible and sometimes buy gear, though not very often. Glad you enjoy the content and find it helpful!

    What do you think about early game strategy layer optimization?
    Like for example picking Ector, Yvain, Balin and Sir Brunor le Noir gives maximum amount of resources and it is dependent on amount of missions and can be done like ASAP(I've killed king of Midnight on very hard on the first try basically just with Sir Kay and under leveled by like 2). Ector basically sits in Camelot and trains for the whole time.
    This strategy gives the opportunity to start buying relics from the shop like almost immediately at the start of Act 2 which means you get 5th lvl relic gear right on lvl 5 while also not really lagging behind in Camelot upgrades.
    Will you do any videos about this part of the game?

    • @maxxalos1267
      @maxxalos1267  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've done a few videos talking about early game stuff. Ector for example in my video where I tier the facility traits, I mention how keeping him high level at all times is super beneficial for like what you mentioned. It's not really framed in a way like you're proposing I suppose. I do have a video covering some tips for getting started but it could maybe be updated a little bit.

  • @Nadoedalo

    I'm also thinking about the second playthrough. Do you think it can be viable for rightful christian to just reach 3 in tyrant and old faith to get discount & bonus dust? I think it would really help since there are a couple of opportunities in missions to pick like christian morale but no old faith?
    Hitting 3 Tyrant is easy and gives Balin. Hitting 3 old faith is a lot more costly but eventually might worth it? I don't think christian side has anything that worth it.
    Does the unlocks go away if I switched path but did not buy the upgrade?
    Does it work vice-versa? Like getting 3(or even 5 for OP decree?) in christian and old faith before switching out?

    • @maxxalos1267
      @maxxalos1267  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So reaching alignment points to unlock a hero recruitment mission are permanent. For example if you reach Tyrant 7, you can unlock Black Knight even if you drop to Tyrant 3. The passives however do revert. So going 3 into tyrant old faith is pointless if you're planning to commit rightful christian for the rest of the run. I did the math and if you want the high level bonuses for any of the alignment combos you need to commit early and stick with it. Like I think mathematically you could unlock Black Knight and then still unlock Lancelot, but it wouldn't be until you're in the endgame getting ready to fight Balor.

    Does globe of protection remove stun from a hero ?
    What are the prerequisites for the next level of items. In my case, the level 15 ones.
    Does 1 hero/all heroes need to be a certain level, is it based on main mission progression ?

    • @maxxalos1267
      @maxxalos1267  ปีที่แล้ว

      You unlock the next tier of gear based on main mission progression. You need to take one of the upgrades on Globe of Protection for it to remove negative status effects.

    I can buy the tome of prophecy from the relic shop, is it worth it, and if so, what hero needs more skill points ?
    I'm playing like you, tyrant old faith

    • @maxxalos1267
      @maxxalos1267  ปีที่แล้ว

      Morgawse probably isn't a bad candidate for extra skill points. Most of the characters in that alignment combination are actually pretty good of being able to fill out their builds without extra skill points. If you have enough relic dust laying around to buy the tome and none of the items have been real appealing for you then go for it.
