Just gone from the 80D to the 90D and its great, I thought it would just be an upgrade to the 80 but it's so much more.Noise at higher ISOs is low, the focus tracking is so much better and the 4k video is superb. An excellent camera all round.
@@CookingwithShereen I'm not totally sure where, but I know you can turn that off in your settings. You can google it, or even just do a camera settings reset if you'd like!
Nolan, this is another video you crushed. The times on camera movement with the slow-motion makes a lot of sense and level up the shot. I am looking forward to your next video.
90d owner for about a year now and I love it. I've just been inspired to try out the video: up until now I'ts been potraits. I'ts all new (photography) for me. Thanks for that lesson.
Recently got the 90D and like my previous Canons never really used the video, not used it for any video but thought I'd give the slomo a try though and was a bit baffled - shot a bee for 4 mins and it was out of focus.Found this video and its really helped. Many thanks from Manchester UK.
I'm 5 seconds into the video and its so informative. I like how u didn't just show us that buttons we need to press you explained what it does and got us to read the what cameras telling us.
90D owner / Bird & Wildlife photographer......got to learn something new..Peaking Settings.....i am surely going to try some slow motion hand held with the peaking settings on.....Thanks and great going.
Please someone answer this at 8:35 you say that your slo mo vid will automatically playback at 24fps.... mine does not it plays back at 29fps and I need it to play back at 24.... Can someone help me why is my powerdirector 365 saying that it is 29... how do i change that to 24? Thank you
Awesome tutorial! Very comprehensive coverage of the subject without being overly long. Especially liked the section on focus peaking, which will be the difference maker for me using 120 fps. One small suggestion if I may. As someone who lacks patience to learn all the features from the beginning, I often find I've missed certain steps that may seem obvious to the seasoned enthusiast. In this case, it took me a while to figure out that I actually had to flick the switch on my lens to MF since I can't remember ever using this mode before. I'm sure I'm just a dummy for not catching on that that's what you were saying . . . but just in case I'm not the only one, it wouldn't hurt to actually show you turning the camera around and hitting this switch on the lens. I kept flicking through the menus trying to figure out how to do this within the camera LOL. Again, maybe it's just me. Either way, many thanks for the video!
I am planning on buying one very soon. I have been using my GoPro 8 and cell phone to shoot my videos for my channel but I really think this camera will bring my work to another level.. Thanks for the tips.. :)
Upgraded from the Canon m50.. rlly wanted the EOS R since it does everything the m50 does better. Went with the 90D instead, 120P, No Crop in 4K with AF and better lowlight ( than m50) Love the 90D
erix4erix you just have to get good at understanding how the peaking works as well as the range in the manual focus ring on your lens. It can get quite easy to nail after a few times and you’ll only get better, I even sometimes use manual focus when recording 4K 24p just because I want that total control over what exactly I want in focus.
Thank you for the very nice and informative video! I really think the peaking option is a remarkable. It works so responsively and intuitively, it gives almost an analog feel to it. Especially with low f-stop, it allows to effectively judge the focus area, and for me one of the biggest advantages: you actually can see in which direction you need to change focus to nail your shot. I really love the 90D for how it‘s built, how it handles and the usability. Such a great tool.
My first 120fps experiment was filming my son mowing the yard. Lol it came out really cool looking though Thank you on the tip about turning on parking. I just did this a few minutes ago. That was really cool.
Thank you so much for your help. I recently purchased the 90d and I absolutely love this camera. I Followed every step from this video and I love the outcome.
Hey. I am a beginner. People claim that the 120fps slowmotion doesn't record audio on the Canon EOS 90d. Sounds like a bad thing... but am I wrong by stating that you don't even need to record audio while shooting with 120fps? Because slowmotion footage usually takes audio from elsewhere? I hope that someone experienced might bring some clarity :)
Awesome thanks. I just got the 90D. I've been going over your videos about this camera. Great stuff. Question. After you finish with this setting to go back to filming 24FPS 4K. Do I have to get the sttings back to what it was before changing to shoot 120FPS?
Hey y'all great videos, I'm having a lot of trouble with my external microphone. As I move the camera or touch anything to do with the microphone plug in it causes all kinds of static and overpowering noise and also loss of audio after. Why does my camera which is a Canon SL2 do this? Or is it the microphone? It works great on tripod when I'm not touching it but if I try to vlog while moving my audio gets wrecked. Thanks for any advice!
@@nolanmolt yes it has a shock mount. It is just like a rode but it is the off brand one. Believe its called movo. Looks identical tho. It only does it when i move camera an wire moves around or i touch it/touch plug in. But it completely cuts my auido an is very aggravating lol
Abdussalam Khan maybe but the chances of that are slimmer since it's further away. It also depends on the lenses. Canon's STM lenses are much quieter. I'm not sure about other brands.
Thank you very much. I own the 90D two days now. I want to but a small lens. Like 17-50 2.8 or 17-70 2.8-4.0. When filming with a 2.8-4.0 lens can I fix the camera on 2.8 to get that bokeh effect? Thanx again.
Even after updating my firmware to 1.1.1 mine only shoots fhd100 fps 1920x 1080 . New to photography and videography is it because of the lens ? Im using 18-135 mm. ( HELP ME PLEASE)

So it plays in slow motion on the video editor already but can you increase the speed to get it in real speed should you need to?
Yes, in that case you would just speed it up as needed
Yes, for instance in Premiere Pro you can choose to "interpret footage" as 30fps or 24fps and it would play back normall.
