I think I was quite generic in that statement. What I really meant was that there is no proper way to deal with long samples. Plus there are some other limitations. You can indeed load a long sample into the DT. I think it is around 11 min of samples per project. However the sample will be converted (summed) into a mono sample. You can pitch it down, that slows it down too and get approximately to 120. But there is no such a thing as it does it perfectly and for you, like Octatrack or Ablaton Live’s Warp function.
There is a dirty way to play stereo tracks on the Digitakt. Just split a stereo track into two mono tracks (on a computer), import, then pan hard left and right, starting of course at the same time. I don't need stereo much, but this works well when I do need stereo.

I think I covered most of the differences that they have in that video. Sometimes those little details matter a lot. I'd say it all depends on the use case and personal preferences. Octatrack can do most of the Digitakt stuff? Yes. But for example can the Octatrack have 2 send effects, bit reduction, overdrive and 2 filters on one track? Hell no.

I'd go for DT too. Or even Model:Cycles or Model:Samples. In my opinion these are complex enough to play with as an instrument. Master it. And make music. @M B 100% what you said bro
You're asking "what would you recommend me to choose as my partner, without knowing anything about me?" Knowing you is more important than knowing the machines. Why not Akai MPC One? Why not Akai Force? Why not Polyend Tracker? Why not Roland MC-707? Novation Circuit? Maschine+? Who knows what someone likes. The devices are as different as people. The only way is to try something and learn. It will cost.
I have a digitone only at the moment- I absolutely adore it. Can’t decide whether to go octa or takt. Even with this great video I still have to ask myself what I really want to do Add to that - I have a deluge. Which makes possibly the octa a better bet for me.
Haha man! I struggle to sell any gear for that reason. It's like "what if need it for ...". But common! Now you have a modular! You can record it into the DAW. I have been recording into the DAW lately and I kinda love it!
One thing new digitakt owners dont seem to know, and maybe it was added in a later firmware, is the ability to use digitakts on board effects on your other hardware. Its a little limited, and clunky to get set up. but u can effectively send digitakts 2x inputs to the digitakt on board. And also, even though digitakt samples in mono, it does playback in stereo. It just sucks you cant use stereo samples. As far as choosing one, i couldnt, their so different. If u wanna get into elektron gear, i guarantee you it will be something u absolutely love or hate. honestly, if u are already a producer, it will likely only take you 1-2 weeks to know it through and through. I think octatrack is for the more advanced/patient, or simply gifted fast learner among you. But yeah I have seen awesome scratch djs turn this thing into a whole new breed of machine. Octatrack appeals to me for totally different reasons than digitakt. They may have the same brand, but like ihor says in the video, their 2 different things. I swapped my rytm for an octatrack and can honestly say it was the right choice. I dont use overbridge nor have any want to do so. But if you like things like that and being in your daw, u might want a rytm digitakt over an octatrack, or even an mpc. Samplers are such a personal thing to own in music. I mean the choices are all good ones. Ultimately, Its how u choose to use them that will determine their value. If u havemt yet, check out rolands new offering. The sp404mk2. For less than digitakt, it has some great beginner freindly (and advanced) features. Rock on Ihor n friends!
Thank you my friend for sharing your opinion and experience. I appreciate that a lot! I do agree with most of the points you made. Do I dare to try SP404 MK2? Maybe...
They both are quite good sounding. Don't forget that the Digitakt is just a sampler, but Rytm is a sampler and an analog synth. I think I can say that Rytm sounds stronger.
@@IhorMedia thx Ihor for important Info, you are right 😃 i bought now the Digitone + Digitakt (sampler + synth) is also amazing, rytm was as alone device to big and is not so flexible, because midi, octatrack is amazing with many fx but have not overbridge and synth, elektron makes me crazy to find the best setup but have very good sound, i love it ❤

@@M1L31 Thank you for a very meaningful and reasonable answer. I'm the kind of person who likes to deal with complicated things. Of course I will not buy a lot of equipment, I just would like to know the opinion of people who have used or are using equipment from elektron
I'd go for DT too. Or even Model:Cycles or Model:Samples. In my opinion these are complex enough to play with as an instrument. Master it. And make music.
@M B 100% what you said bro
Huge informations
i have OT if i were to go all Elektron gear, i would put digiTone and synTakt into Octatrack. Add HEAT to output of OT and now you're on fire!
i don't think to need digiTakt with this setup...
and then maybe 303 clone into digiTone
You've got a great setup!
I have a digitone only at the moment- I absolutely adore it.
Can’t decide whether to go octa or takt.
Even with this great video I still have to ask myself what I really want to do
Add to that - I have a deluge. Which makes possibly the octa a better bet for me.
@@LordoftheBadgers if you have a deluge, i wouldn't get a digitakt, it would cover mostly the same bases as your deluge...
Sold my OT to go modular, now I want my OT back to record my modular 🤦 so I can loop and slice it on the fly....
Haha man! I struggle to sell any gear for that reason. It's like "what if need it for ...". But common! Now you have a modular! You can record it into the DAW. I have been recording into the DAW lately and I kinda love it!
@@IhorMedia the best thing i learned is to record everything! Once you lost it its gone forever 😂
Bigamy is ok. ❤️❤️
Yes sure. I have Digitakt, Digitone, Octatrack MK2, Analog Heat, Analog Four MK2, Analog Rytm MK2, Model:Cycles, Model:Samples... So...
But where is the monomachine?
@@petergeist_ It seems that I have enough Elektron Gear, don't you think ?
Which one is your favourite?
@@IhorMedia Analog Rytm MK2 of course... The cheapest one ;)
@@FastRCToys haha, true! I love it too!
What is the point of purchasing one of these when the MPC's blow these right out of the water?
If I were to purchase my first ever MPC, which one would you recommend?
Well do they really?
Waiting for digione tutorials
I'm not into Digitone... for some reason... yet...
Both machines need to make a baby but I love my DT's.
Maybe...
@@IhorMedia yeah u should get one 👍🏻also, just wondering what camera you use?

2) which sound ist stronger better rytm or digitakt? special in good hard kick and nice filtered loops
They both are quite good sounding. Don't forget that the Digitakt is just a sampler, but Rytm is a sampler and an analog synth. I think I can say that Rytm sounds stronger.
@@IhorMedia thx Ihor for important Info, you are right 😃 i bought now the Digitone + Digitakt (sampler + synth) is also amazing, rytm was as alone device to big and is not so flexible, because midi, octatrack is amazing with many fx but have not overbridge and synth, elektron makes me crazy to find the best setup but have very good sound, i love it ❤
Nice comparison. Very helpful. But the background music is way to loud for me, it's distracting when I'm trying to understand something new
Sorry! I checked on few before uploading and loudness was good to me. But I must be missing some detail here. May I ask what device and speakers/headphones were you using to watch this video?
@@IhorMedia Desktop PC with RME Fireface UC, iLoud Monitorspeakers or Sennheiser IEM 400. PC loudness only by 20 percent. But it must be within the video or youtube compression ...
Elektron should just take everything the DT does more, add it to OT in mk3 and discontinue DT
Why?
I like my DT but I don't need a OT...
Why would I pay nearly double for features I don't want or need?
iGORRRRR :)
Ihor, could you make some content about getting started in modular? Some basics, basic elements, maybe cheapest setup to start? Please mate! 🔥
Hey mate! This is a good idea. Thanks! I will think what can I do.
@@IhorMedia you are awesome mate! i’m waiting 🔥🔥🔥
