    Thanks brother! That did the trick, no hacksaw or blowtorch or big hammer needed...

    Hi, great video. I just bought a umarex mp 40, love it, but one thing that really nagged me, being an anal retentive history nut, was the sling swivel being on the "wrong" side. This video and five minutes, now am totally happy. Just gonna sit here the rest of the day, being happy!!!!

      Absolutely agree, that thing sitting on the left rather than the right just did my head in. I was really happy with the Umarex and then I saw a video with a genuine Mp40 and my first thought was the sling is on the other side LOL

    Mine came with the sling swivel on the right. I'm British though, maybe the US models are different? I also got the "battle worn" version, I can't remember it's actual name but it was something like that.
    Finally picked up a repro sling at tankfest. Wanna get one of the leather carry bags next. What I really want are mags but at 50 bucks each a loadout would be pricey af

      Put the Acetech bifrost on it! I just did it and modded the snout of the M3 grease gun to accept the adapter and got one there as well! way brings the immersion.

    I was going to do this sling switch. Like someone else already mentioned, the pin on my Umarex MP 40 also would not tap all the way out. My MP 40 is fairly new, so maybe they have changed something. When I tried pulling the pin all the way out, it broke into two pieces! The pin apparently is made of soft metal and not harden steel. So, be careful about trying to tug it out. I couldn't find a 1/16 inch diameter pin replacement pin that was as long as the original. I ended up just tapping the broken part of the pin back in. The muzzle assembly end still seems tight, so the broken pin is probably not an issue. I am just mad that I broke something on a new gun at the get go.

      You could just keep it on the other side and say your left handed I doubt the Germans had only one way they probably did modify it IRL like that

    Did the latest FX ranchero video include a part of Joerg's video? Or why was it copyright claimed?

    Thank You. Now the strap doesn't get in the way of the charging handle. Took about 4 minutes.

    Hi I got a little problem with my mp40. I was following directions with the pin removal and I was using the 1/16 pin punch and it accidentally slipped and hit the metal of the air gun which cause it to have a dent on it and I wanna know how I can fix this .

      Buff it out. Keep on rubbing. always gonna be there but will look better.

    I made the change. It was fairly easy following the video and looks great. One question, the screw went in again, however now it just spins. I tried to take it out again but it won’t come out. It seems to be all the way in and there is no movement to the barrel. I am thinking that somehow it’s stripped. Will this be an issue?

      It probably will if you ever want to change the sling mount again or if you need to get it off to replace the front end of the MP40. Being that it is a BB airgun it will probably be just fine for the rest of its existence. Of course, if you really had to get it off, it can be done fairly easily.

      @@notsosilentmajority1 Thanks man. That is what I was hoping. On the upside I was able to pick up a second factory refurbished MP40 at a great price.
      I heard that Umarex had discontinued the MP40. Hopefully that means to replace it with a new line. It’s a fun one.

      Hey brother, I literally just received a brand new MP40 TODAY. I bought it for my son. I got it from Airgun Depot and they are still making them. Nothing has changed and it still is an awesome CO2 air rifle.
      Congrats on picking up the refurbished gun, that was smart. Good luck and have fun.

    this makes no sense, my pin won't come out no matter what, left side, right side, full force, soft tap, maybe because I just bought it and it's made differently but yeah not coming out

    I can’t take the pin out

    • @airgundepot
      @airgundepot  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You have probably made sure the punch is small enough, but make sure you punch it from the right and obviously make sure that it is free to move, that is, it's not lying on a table or so forth. It's firmly in there but it should come out.

    • @timothymeyer123
      @timothymeyer123 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I actually used a very small screwdriver (for eyeglass repair), smaller than the pin, and tapped VERY gently from the right. Couple taps and could get a grip on the pin with pliers.
