  • Features of the two “Legend” models Umarex currently produces of the P08 Luger are compared. The 2251800 model is double action, while the 2251803 has a more realistic blow back single action operation with a folding toggle like that of the real P08 Luger.
The standard Umarex Legends P08 Luger model has a higher velocity (410 fps). The blow back model has a slower advertised velocity (300 fps). Air temperature will have an impact on velocity speeds. Magazine capacity for both is 21 .177 mm steel BBs. The power source is a 12 gram C02 capsule. The standard model should give more shots per CO2 capsule load than the blow back model.
When ordering either of the Umarex Legends P08 Luger models, check the model number before buying to ensure you are buying the model you want (standard or blow back). The price of the standard model is about half of the blow back model.
Introduced by Umarex in 2014, these air gun P08 Luger models are near realistic in appearance, size and weight. They can be found with relatively inexpensive prices now several years after their initial introduction if you catch them on sale and with free shipping at some of the online retailers. Currently in most states, BB guns are not considered firearms and can be ordered and shipped to your door. Check your local laws for possible restrictions and/or requirements.

I couldn't resist buying the non-blowback standard version when the price got so low in Dec 2022...$47.99 + tax and free shipping from Amazon right to my door. But I've come to like both models. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Thanks for the good comment! I'm just an average guy, the guy you may find standing next to you at a gun show or at a gun store admiring the hardware on the table or in the counter...no more or no less. So, positive comments about the content I create are really appreciated. Thanks for watching!

Thanks! If people are trying to figure out which one to buy, I hope the video helps! People maybe are buying the standard model thinking they are getting the blowback Luger model.

Stripped the threads for the grip screws.
Any ideas on what to do?
Also been trying to make wooden grips fit, so far not so good.
They also don’t have a tab at the tips for them be slipped in to the frame.
So no idea how they will stay in place?

Wish I could help, but no ideas to repair your pistol. That plastic tab on the grip is a weakness. They are on the Umarex P38 model too. One of the tabs broke off on it and the grip is now held with by only one tab. Guess I'll be using Velcro tape to hold the grip on if the pistol lasts that long.

Mine is the non blowback, I love the power. Is 6mm BBs. The only problem is when fires two BBs at once... 😢

I hope the 2 BBs firing is not a frequent event. It's hard to investigate problems on these pistols, and if one does find the cause of any issue, getting parts to fix it is another issue.

@@thegunbarracks6064 the problem was the quality of the BBs, also, the loader spring is too hard... loading 8, usually doesn't fails. It's not a toy, it's not a gun, but it's funny. 😎

Mam standart, efekt trzymania w ręku jest niesamowicie realistyczny.

Yes, the Umarex P08 Lugers are very realistic as far as look and feel. I think the standard model may be better as far as durability. Thanks for watching the video and commenting.

Don't fire the blowback version on a VERY hot day. Mine blew it's toggle action apart

Never heard of this before...I hope you did not get injured! I know there is an optimum temperature to get maximum shooting velocity for these CO2 powered air guns...warmer air temperature is usually better. These air guns may look and operate realistic, but parts-wise, they are obviously not made of gun quality hardened steel. I do question their durability. Thanks for sharing your experience!

On a really hot day, any blowback C02 gun will be operating in extremes in terms of pressure of the gas on the operating system. The polar opposite to sub-zero temperatures, where it will take much less toll on the action.
Mine made a very loud crack and totally snapped the toggle. I was not hurt. I noted on the few shots prior, it was blowing back really harshly and the recoil in hand was much more than when I'd shot it a few weeks prior in cooler conditions. On a really hot day I only shoot non-blowback C02 guns now, such as the Umarex Winchester or the Umarex Webley revolver.

Thanks for detailing what happened with your blowback Umarex P08. Sounds like you have outlined some conditions and signs/ pistol behavior that Umarex P08 pistol shooters should be aware of.

My P08’s magazine empties all of the BB’s on inserting mag into gun. Worthless.

Meine Legends Umarex P08 war schon nach etwa 200 Schuß Defekt, Blowback Auslassventil!
4 Wochen Reperatur ? Dann etwa 200 Schuß wieder Defekt, jetzt seit 3 Wochen zur Reperatur 😮😮😮
Ich glaube das Teil ist nicht zum Schießen 😢😢😢😢

I'll post any more viewer comments on this if others are experiencing problems with the P08 blowback exhaust value. Thanks for sharing the issue you are having with your Umarex P08 blowback pistol.
