Oh man, this was a blast to watch. It’s been a background car ever since I subscribed but somehow this car had always been the main image of your channel to me. I am beyond excited to see this thing running again. And even if it’s missing some cosmetics, it’s still so beautiful
Thank you so much! As this channel ages, I do believe most long-term fans will come to see and recognize this car as "my baby." It's the one that isn't going anywhere, and that I'll always be striving to improve.
@@stanceworks Take good care of that car turn out looking really awesome, watching your work on cars from Europe.. keep posting good content anyone likes what you done so far ! ;0)
@@stanceworks You're right on that one, this is your highschool sweetheart, the one to take to prom so to speak! Can't wait to see whats next for her when you want to improve it even more than it already is!
Thank you for continuing to make content that you want to make. I came here to hear what YOU have to say, not to watch what the viewers want to see. For me, the moment most TH-cam channels lose me is when they stop doing what they set out to do and start doing what gets them views. Keep it up, Mike.
This E36 made me buy my first E36 back in 2012 as a HS self-graduating present, though it was a 318is, it was even grey too! Thanks Mike for your continuous work & keeping this hell of a Machine alive for the next generation to enjoy & be inspired to buy an E36!
As an Italian car fan (I own a Maserati and 2 Alfas) I don't understand why people don't enjoy the BMW episodes as much as the Ferrari ones. They're as entertaining and educational as each other... Mike, the BMW looks absolutely amazing! Love it.
There is nothing better to any petrol head than the first drive after days months or years of working on a car And that grin on your face says it all. Keep up the great content 👏
If you ever feel pressured or dejected due to your progress on the Ferrari. just remember project binky! 7 or 8 yerar build that has kept viewers glued to every stage of the build! It is always better to do it well than to do it fast :) I for one am here for the long haul and im relly liking these interludes where we get to see your othe amazing projects! This car was so special to me as a young adult. I'm so stoked that it's coming back together. You influenced me to get an e30. Keep it up. I will never forget the AWOL video on this car
This might be controversial but I (as an e36 owner) love watching these almost more than the Ferrari build - both are jaw dropping and hands down the best build series on youtube
I'm really not a fan of BMWs at all BUT it's been so enjoyable watching you put together your "old" car and seeing how stoked you are on getting ever close to this milestone from todays episode. Keep it up!
Mike, 3k’s + and you went through the barrier! HOW COOL IS THAT!? I’m so stoked to see this Beemer coming to life… now the Model A and the 308K and the world is yours! Thanks for such an awesome content, keep rocking!
E36 looks fantastic, Mike. Don't worry about the M badges, most markets outside the US have M Sport models where the badges are present on certain specifications of BMW with a host of M Sport parts.
The car that made me start my E36 journey (I'm on my 3rd one now), that not only started (in my opinion) Stanceworks but the entire stance scene world wide. I can't believe I'm seeing this car back on the road. Mike please put the M3 lip spoiler on the front bumper to complete the M3 look. You inspire people like me. Keep it up.
This car along with Seandub’s and Bastien’s cars is what solidified my love of e36s, way back in the early days of the Stanceworks forum. It’s great to see it rolling the streets again. Man I miss my coupe.
Wow, the new trim really does transform the look, excited to see it with new skirts and lip. Hope you can get the interior back soon too, this is looking killer!
I've got to say, the big builds like the Ferrari and the Model A are inspiring, but watching this build come alive is MOTIVATING. Watching this gets me pumped to go work on my own project that's been in progress for a few years. Thanks for the content and keep doing what you're passionate about!
I remember downloading a picture of this when it was on AMG 3 piece wheels, that was many years ago and long before I ever owned one, I'm now on my 4th e36 and still own 2 with my saloon undergoing a 4.4 v8 swap.
Just pulled the cover off my 36 after watching this video, I drove it once with the Zero Clerance StanceWorks shocks before parking it. looks like I'll be using these videos as a guide! More 36 videos please!
I remember my first drive when i upgraded to KW V3's and got the posche calipers up front. And again recently when I got my car back from my friend's workshop after he'd completed the engine rebuild and mapping session Car is so nice to drive, and that sence of satisfaction every time you completed that major overhaul. Congrats on the first drive, hopefully it'll help you finish out the car out. Looks absolutely epic.
I started watching the channel for the Ferrari build, but I have to say : you seem to enjoy working on the BMW more, and it's nice to see ! Keep on doing what you like, it's the best content, no matter the car, or no matter the project even
Dude that smile on your face on your first road test makes it all worth it dude! I’ve been in that position and it’s an amazing feeling! Can’t wait to see it in person!
I started watching your channel when you were working on the Ferrari, but when I seen the e36 I got more excited then watching the Ferrari content! I also own a e36 and bought a rusty m3 and parted it out and kept all the drivetrain. Love the e36 content please keep it up! Yours is awesome
Having just gotten rid of my Dakar '95 last year, this part of your channel brings me a particular, nostalgic type of build. Not to mention your warm California beauty shots! I can tell how excited it makes you, and that gets me equally as pumped. Congrats!!
Nice to see a smile on your face while driving it. Makes me miss my e39.

Hi Mike, congrats on getting the build to this point! One tip: coat those brake caliper pins with some anti-seize. My ISF came stock with the same Brembo calipers, and all pins were stuck solid when I bought mine. It's almost impossible to press them out without damaging the paint, don't ask me how I know :(
I'm not a BMW 3 series guy (like me a 2002 though) but will comment and like on this video anyway because I really appreciate your channel and support your excitement. Keep up the good work
Hey Mike, congratulations on getting your baby back on the road. It made me smile and think back to my own E36. It was the first BMW I bought new back in 1994. It was a sedan with a four pot engine but I still put the full M-kit and M3 wheels on it and it looked amazing. Traded it in for a new E46 in 1999 and I still regret it to this day. Such a beautiful design. Together with the 308, you have two of the most beautiful cars ever made in your garage!
Quick change pads are definitely a headache reducer. I remember this car from ~15 years ago or so. I definitely like it's current setup. Looks great. Not sacrilegious if it's got an S motor.
Congratulations. I've got a small boat that I haven't had in the water for a couple of years, and I'm thinking that the feeling will be similar when I get her back out again. I'm glad you're not just staying with the Ferrari build. Thanks for the videos!
Fantastic to see this on the road !! My personal choice of splitter would be the AC Schnitzer carbon splitter. Yeah, It’s long out of production but well worth searching out. I had one on my old 36, it looked pukka 👌

Just so you know, you can remove that window trim pretty easily with a piece of wood and a hammer. Though getting it back on without damaging it can be pretty difficult.

Hell yes, two of the best things BMW made from this era: The e36 and the s54. That exhaust is definitely killer, it's hard to get the s54 sounding "right" imo.

I love how this car unintentionally became a brilliant investment! This is worth stupid money now--especially with your provenance. Looks stunning. Thrilled to see it back on the road.
No, this car is not worth stupid money. All original cars always bring more money from collectors. A modified car is never, ever, worth more. An original E36 M3 is more valuable.
i feel this as i am personally about to tear my e46 330ci down for a bit (daily driver) to pull the AUTO ZF out and throw in a 220 getrag (700 for a whole 325i YES ALL DAY) while i do rear subframe bushings, inforcing, bushings all around really plus a few other small things like CCV delete or new CCV unsure, and muffler delete. Lets not forget a new cooling overhual as its 128000 miles now, owned since 119k and only did plugs, coils (not needed) filter, control arms and disa gasket. got the car for nothing, but shell be tip top in due time. hoping its not down 10 years tho....hoping for two weeks tops...
Great vid! BMW is great. The Ferarri is incredible. The Ford is just sick! I look forward to all your videos every week. Build a Hyundai Pony. It would be F-ing great! And I would watch! Cheers!

Car looks awesome! At the start I wasn’t feeling the project, but as you keep add the small details the car slowly peaked my interest. Congrats on getting her rolling
I'm sorta disappointed he went out with no seatbelts, but I'm really upset he convinced someone else to do that just so he could film. They're both really lucky nobody crashed into them, that's how people get sent to the hospital.
At this point the car is better than any M3, so it's certainly worthy of the ///M badges. Plus it does have a bona fide ///M motor, arguably more so than the S52.
It's fantastic to see this car back on the ground, I've followed the build of this car since the early StanceWorks days. The content is great keep it up man 😊
Congrats man, I still remember seeing this car when you first did it on a video interview for SOWO? Wow that was a long time ago. Congrats again on bringing it back to life.

I think I have second hand excitement from you getting to take this out for a drive.
The smile on your face when ripping through the gears made this so worth it. Congrats, man. Well worth it!!
at 4:00 that is such a beautiful shot
I try!
Great vid! BMW is great. The Ferarri is incredible. The Ford is just sick! I look forward to all your videos every week. Build a Hyundai Pony. It would be F-ing great! And I would watch! Cheers!
wow this is insane! i just watch your 1st video from 2010 AWOL i got it on my pc and then i decide to search if you finally make a video again about this car and i bump to this WTF! i am so happy! :) youR m3 was the 1st one that i see with s54 swap ! and velocity stacks ... amazing! i was 19 back then ...now 31..crazy how the time goes
E36! Really great project. I'm almost done with mine.
Nice job! Makes me regret not getting into the e36 and e46 M3 game about 4 or 5 years ago.
Car looks awesome! At the start I wasn’t feeling the project, but as you keep add the small details the car slowly peaked my interest. Congrats on getting her rolling
This car is better than a new one - congratulation. 👍👍👍
Best regards from 🇩🇪
Dad in me is worried about no seat belts and no license plates! Always enjoy you enthusiasm! Keep up the great work!
Plus it does have a bona fide ///M motor, arguably more so than the S52.
good job man ✌ , only thing I don't like that rear wing .... I had that car ..... black it was a missile 💪.... good memories 👍
NIce work buddy. Despite not really liking BMW's much, this thing looks great.
It's fantastic to see this car back on the ground, I've followed the build of this car since the early StanceWorks days. The content is great keep it up man 😊
Been following this build since the beginning, love seeing it on the road again. Sounds soooo good! 😍
Congrats man, I still remember seeing this car when you first did it on a video interview for SOWO? Wow that was a long time ago. Congrats again on bringing it back to life.
Couldn’t wipe that smile off your face with a shovel. Congratulations man
Love the progress made on this thing! I remember the 1st time I saw it back in the day. Still Love it!
