    I like listening to people that aren’t using a script.
    I appreciate it ❤

    00:37 No, I didn't skip ahead. I was just looking for a video of someone explaining their differences, rather listening to sound examples and taking notes how each pedal sounds. Thanks!

    I love my Plumes. Mode 3 set all knobs at 10’o’clock. Sounds nice on my Jazzmaster bridge pup. Plays nice with other drive pedals too.

    Just the video I needed! That first few minutes of chatting was super valuable!
    Already have a TS808 so was curious how similar/different the plumes really is!

      Excellent. I knew someone would appreciate the pedal explanation in the beginning. Glad I kept it now. Thanks.

      There’s a lot of videos with fruitless talk, yours not one of them.

    Thanks for a well organized and very helpful video. It covered what I needed to know both descriptively and while playing. Extra bonus- I generally play without a pick as well so that was a good comparison for me. The captions were fun. Thank you for taking the time to put it together.

    i use it in mode 2 and it is always on, never turn it off, give a lot of clarity, percussion and punch, i add ocd or big muff op amp before it for distortion or fuzz sounds

    • @GuitarlordJohnBurton
      @GuitarlordJohnBurton  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yeah that’s exactly how I use it. I think that’s where is shines. It makes other pedals better.

    • @Helicon1
      @Helicon1 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is the way! Using this on mode 2 as a sort of clean boost after a compressor is just perfect as a base sound before adding any distortion

    Damn, great review dude! That Plumes looks amazing! I already have the Ibanez tube screamer, but have been looking into trying a different overdrive

      Thanks man! For the price of the Plumes, especially used, I think it's well worth giving it a try. It won't replace your Tube Screamer for that Tube Screamer sound but it will give you something enough in that same vein that you'll feel comfortable with it quickly and then can explore what else it can do very naturally.

      @@GuitarlordJohnBurton ride on, I won’t lie if I’m not just recording guitar straight into an interface on the computer I’m playing through a PA speaker. The Ibanez screamer has always sounded a little flat to me, but could be because I’m not using a proper guitar amp lol. That being said, I just love pedals with multiple modes and options, thanks for the advice Duder!!

      Btw per wiki, Earthquaker Devices supports the racist, Marxist, and anti American BLM organization. I won’t give them a dime. They’re spitting in the face of the people who buy their pedals. If they openly support racist and Marxist organizations, they should leave the USA.

    I really enjoyed your talking, don't be harsh on yourself! I think the thing about this pedal is that, indeed, it is based on a Tubescreamer but the guys from EQD said they made this mod for people who did not like Tubescreamers xD so its a modded version from people who didn't really liked the original pedal, and they tweaked it until they did. I bought it recently and it blowed me away. I used it with a Laney VC 15 (which I also got recently, I was using a Bugera v5 and a Peavey Audition 110 until now) and I am in a honeymoon phase with all my gear right now... I was enjoying the Laney al ot by itself and with this pedal was like adding cream to hot chocolate XD it sounds amazing with my tele but my Ibanez archtop goes on fire with this one, it really surprised me. I am very very happy with this purchase. I was lucky to get it for a nice price used. Pd sorry if I made mistakes, English isn't my mother language.

      @@Lalairu I appreciate it. Yeah I really love the pedal. I’m generally the type
      Of guy that sticks with one amp and guitar for long periods of time but I think if I were switching amps out every night, I’d actually enjoy this pedal even more for it’s versatility.

    Great video! I really appreciate this take on the pedal. Everyone else just compares it to the TS, which I'm glad you included too. I have the EQD Special Cranker and it's my favorite Pedal on my board. I heard it pairs up really well with the Plumes. I think I will definitely get one now. Your playing is great and you seem real laid back. Hey...you have a new subscriber here for sure!

    If it was simply a straight 1:1 clone half the people would hate it but since they dared to tweak it the other half hate it. I have a stupid number of dirt boxes but the Plumes always sticks around. To my ears the first mode is almost Rat-like at higher settings, the third mode sounds like a modded TS, and the middle is my personal favorite as I use it as the last little nudge over the top.

    • @GuitarlordJohnBurton
      @GuitarlordJohnBurton  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah sounds like you feel exactly the same about the pedal as me. Really enjoy the pedal overall but not for it’s Tube Screaming capabilities. I’d have that mode set to 2 all show. Really liked that clean boost.

    Plumes is cool! It’s super bright! The tone knob in the plumes off is still super bright! Not sure why they did that. Tube screamer sounds better to my ears for sure! I have an analog man silver mod 808 that is unreal!

    not at all, your insight is very important. Audio bites are cool, but sound is never true coming out of all the devices until we hear it personally on our smartphones, headphones, or home speakers.. so insights are definitely of the most importance.

    tube screamer mini vs plumes next?

    • @GuitarlordJohnBurton
      @GuitarlordJohnBurton  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That could be in the cards in the future. Especially if they make a Plumes mini. I don't think they do yet do they? I just got a RAT pedal in so I may do a comp with that one to something, but I'm not quite sure what yet. Thanks!

      Thanks. For me it doesn’t make much sense to just do a “sound demo” online with so many uncontrollable variables for how the sound comes out. But to compare it directly to something else at least gives me a few generally true aspects of a piece of gear I can take away from it. Still a very flawed approach but hopefully there is some value in it.
