    Hey coach Justin, I really appreciate the video. I'm just getting back into baseball, and I didn't know where to start. But thanks to you I can be able to make my mark at tryouts. I have a question in mind dealing with preparation.
    how many days a week do I need to train and rest/recover? I will be playing at the high school level.

    • @UltimateBaseballTraining
      @UltimateBaseballTraining  5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I recommend listening to your body and taking a day off when you feel it's necessary! I'd train a minimum of 4 days per week, but if you want to be the best you have to outwork the rest!

    Thank you! This was a very solid video. The technique seems simple and efficient. Oddly, the spot most important to me was clearly the same for others based on the peak viewership marker. I worry my son is "flippy", as you call it. Also, one thing I don't understand about today's swings / swingers is why the bat often starts near perpendicular to the ground (mookie e.g.). If you look at George Brett's swing, he seems to simplify his swing so that his bat remains lower, more parallel to ground and more efficiently enters the zone. I think that's prob why he hit .305 career.

    Where were you in 1965 when I went 2 for 102 in Little League? My 2 hits came in one game against the best pitcher in the league. Kid had every pitch at age 12. I strongly suspect he actually curved the ball into my bat.

    The 2 tee drill is great. I do that all the time! Coach a question for you. I saw a video of miguel cabrera doing an interview with eric thomas and miggy said for advice to young hitters is to not swing too hard or overswing. Do you agree? Obviously cabrera is a god and the best hitter in the world and superstrong that he can just wave at the ball and it’ll go 375 feet for a hr but can you still swing easy at all levels and still hit the ball hard and for power? I notice when i swing hard i tend to strike out more because my head is all over the place and my body is outta sequence and mechanically off. Is the goal to have a violent explosive lower half and smooth upper half when hitting?

    • @UltimateBaseballTraining
      @UltimateBaseballTraining  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I totally agree with Miggy. When players try to swing hard, they usually tense up and actually swing the bat slower. Loose muscles are fast muscles. They also get into other bad habits, like pulling your head as you mentioned. I think the key is to have an aggressive mind, but keep your body nice and loose and relaxed. You'll tense up naturally at the point of contact without even needing to think about it.

      Ultimate Baseball Training thanks will do! The fact also that you brought up Nolan Arenado in this video is amazing too. I watch alot of his games on mlb network and how he watches the ball all throughout contact and his head is so still. Hands down one of the best players in the game 🙌🏼

    Stupid question from someone who is just learning the sport. Do you go on launch position before the pitcher throws the ball or when you are going to actually bat the ball?

    • @TheMagicFellow
      @TheMagicFellow 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sergio Victor Its a little hard to explain the timing but if you watch MLB slow motion batting then you can see when to get into the launch position

    • @Ephesians28n9
      @Ephesians28n9 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's just before the swing, ball is already in air.

    So I haven't played baseball in about 30 years. Played softball for 15 years. But haven't done anything for the last 10 years. Recently joined a adult league and I'll tell you what these exercises are so valuable. Cuz I'm pretty much starting from scratch. Well done
