The last drill, soft toss, is spot on. Allowing your players to develop timing, regardless of how you do it, teaching them and allowing them to learn rhythm is such a huge part of hitting in my opinion. If timing is on, everything else slows down. This guy's really good coach. Awesome tips!
I know this comment is 2 years old but I hope you enjoyed your first season and I hope that you continued coaching. I no longer coach but I did for two of my children over the span of 10 years. It was the best times of my life. Nothing is more gratifying than seeing those kids grow right in front of your eyes over the course of a season. Truly an amazing experience. Kudos for giving it a go!
The person asking about bat lag doesn’t seem to understand the concepts. We never want bat drag through the zone. It’s exactly what it sounds like, dragging a barrel through the hitting zone. We do want bat lag. Barrel works back, staying connected on the turn, lag is created in the turn allowing the barrel to stay in the zone longer and create a whip effect.

Guys, this video is freaking amazing! Thanks! (From a coach of young players)
Question about foot placement. I was taught the front foot should be at the back corner of the plate? Thoughts??
So much knowledge here. I'm a coach of little league. I'm overwhelmed at the precision being taught at that level. Lots of work to do.
Does eye dominance dictate stance?
Question do we need to have balls ourselves or can we buy some there?
I was just at one of their places today for hitting, and they have their own balls that you use. Hope this helps, even months later!
