    Excelent video, thank you. Just a reminder that the screw heads on Japanese motorcycles are for JIS screw drivers and not Phillips. Less screw heads stripping by using the JIS drivers.

    An FYI- all the cross-head screws on Hondas and other Japanese bikes are JIS (Japanese Institute Standard), not Philips. If a JIS screw is pretty tight, a Philips driver can strip the head in short notice.
    JIS drivers fit JIS screws perfectly and there's little risk of damaging a screw head unless you're really ham-fisted. JIS drivers are available from a lot of online sources including Amazon and McMaster-Carr.

    Hi Chris, an excellent video as always... just a clarification, @7:40 into the video you mention the use of 16mm spacer on top but the text says 20mm and the opposite for the bottom, you say 20 mm but the text says to use the 16mm spacer. Please clarify. Thank you.

  • @HarleyRider33
    @HarleyRider33 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Is something wrong with the left side spacers?? I think the video is off saying to use two 20mm spacers when it only comes with 1. Thanks

    • @photoggenes7443
      @photoggenes7443 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just installed mine and it should be 20mm towards the center of the engine and (2) 16mm on the outside. The install kit also comes with a lot of extra ambiguous washers.

    Like these, but not real impressed with the fact Honda made the cowl holes square, and all the driving lights are for the most part round. Makes it look a little odd. I know I can use and older cowl but they dont have a matte black of these in the older versions. Excellent video.

      There are some newer models now that fit the rectangle.

    Thank you for the detailed installation instructions. I just purchased the OEM type fog lights from my local Honda dealership. I will be logging my installation too.

    As usual, an excellent, professional presentation, which will save me a lot of false starts and fumbling when I install these lights on my 2012 Wing.

    Those fog lights are good for a 2010 Goldwing? (round hose)

    My '07 bike has the factory fog lights installed. My factory switch is NOT illuminated.
    Will I need to replace the OEM switch for these to work?
    I also have dash lights wired into fog light switch

    • @cruisemansgarage
      @cruisemansgarage  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think so, you should be able to use the factory switch.

    My fog light switch is lit all the time, is that normal?

    • @cruisemansgarage
      @cruisemansgarage  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. It is so you can find the switch in the dark.

    • @prohomevideos
      @prohomevideos 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Is there a way to change it? I will find my self driving around and not know if the fog lights are on during the day.

    • @cruisemansgarage
      @cruisemansgarage  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not to my knowledge. I think Honda makes an OEM fog light switch that may function differently, but I am not certain of that.

      @prohomevideos 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +prohomevideos Did you ever get an answer to your question about the switch lights staying on all the time? During the daytime, I can't tell when the fog lights are on or off, frustrating.

    This was a great video, but has turned out to be completely inaccurate for the wiring adapter location on my 2008 model. I cannot find this factory plug anywhere. I also see that 'CruiseMansGarage' hasn't replied to one single person on here, with all these previous comments. Quite lame!

    • @cruisemansgarage
      @cruisemansgarage  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry about the delayed reply. Gmail was screwed up! You should have factory wiring for fog lights, not sure why you cannot find the harness. Did you remove the cowl?

      Thank you for the reply. I did figure it out, it was unfortunately frustrating. gl1800riders.com/forums/5-gl1800-tech-board/324033-kuryakyn-driving-lights-installation-problem-2.html#post4021289

    Quick question. I have a 17 and put the fog lights on. I am wondering what the part number is for the jumper to have them on with the high beams on. Thanks

      @@cruisemansgarage The link is dead now. I hope that Wingstuff still has it but in a different URL. Yeah, I'm going to install mine soon. I'm getting mine done with my friend who owns the exact same 2017 as me. He sold this fog lights to me because he didn't like the design. He got the Show Chrome Tridium lights instead. I can't get the Tridium lights because Wingstuff doesn't have anymore stock :(

    I can’t find the plug your talking about??

    • @cruisemansgarage
      @cruisemansgarage  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That plug can be really hard to find sometimes, but I promise you, it is there. You may have to "dig deep" into the shelter to locate it and pull it up, but it is there.

    • @robcraft1373
      @robcraft1373 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cruiseman's Garage okay, I’ll look again tomorrow... would it likely be straight down from the opera panel? Or coming from the fairing area?

    • @cruisemansgarage
      @cruisemansgarage  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@robcraft1373 It is usually in a bundle of other connectors inside of a clear or black rubber protective shroud, sometimes tucked next to the inside of the bike, not on the outside of the shelter.

    • @robcraft1373
      @robcraft1373 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cruiseman's Garage there is a protective black boot, that has two white plugs, but I don’t see any other plugs in that bundle. I’m really getting frustrated, I’m sure it’s in there somewhere but it’s not where others are saying it sould be🤨 it doesn’t seem like it sould be that hard to find. Every video I watch on this , people open up the control panel and it’s right there... boy not in my case.

    • @robcraft1373
