Off duty should stop the 14 in my opinion
My truck is also used for my landscape company, i unplug my eld all the time. Its only plugged in when i am operating as a hotshot with my hotshot trailer hooked up. Its my truck and the DOT can screw. The gov aint gonna tell me what to do with ME PROPERTY.

Yard move won't affect your driving clock but will count against the 14. I use it all the time

I would never do it with a pre 99 pickup again
I wouldn’t recommend it either unless you have good mechanical knowledge and can do all repairs yourself.

I just had an incident just like your example. I parked on the get off ramp and you know it I had to move the truck and I lost 3hrs behind it.
What are DOT/FMSCA regulations on sleeper in a hot shot truck.. Do you need one for a team or solo driver..

You cannot claim sleeper berth in a hot shot truck because it doesn't meet the definitions under 49 CFR 393.76
So far 4 ELD systems simply don't work. 2 at truckstop RM no drive time on the newer truck 14 Volvo with obd2 adapter, worked in my 07, transflo logs you on when watching tv at home, telegis works same as Rand McNally no drive time, geotab works like transflo that went in the garbage. Anyone know of a obd2 system that works? Dot guy didn't like the no drive time. Gave a citation to take to a shop, but who fixes them? Do the best we can n keep a updated logbook on hand.

When you're at your pick up/drop off loading/unloading, and you put on duty not driving, does it still count towards your 70 or towards your 14? Or what's the best way to do that while still keeping it legal?

If you are at the shipper/receiver working you need to be “on duty” not driving .
“On duty”is working and deducts time from your 70 hour clock.

Hey, what about if I want use drive my truck Ram3500 without trailer , do I have to logout or disconnect device or personal conv?
Unidentified drive time and any tagged violations will show up to any admin and DOT on most if not all units in the investigation mode. The odometer will be your enemy
Its my personal truck as well so i unplug my eld when ever i am not moving any freight for money
Instead of using PC,because it leaves noticable usage on the graph that you can't hide.
Use on duty yard move because you can be on duty 24 hours a day and you can edit it to off duty once finished, the kicker is that once you edit to off duty, it doesn't mess with your clock and it just shows a little line on the graph and the rest is off duty, only an in depth inspection and the right person will ever see it.
Dammm, here I thought this was how to Bypass the ELD (Electronic Load Detection) regarding Honda Cars in America. A bullshit idea to increase MPG only to satisfy our Government. Which causes a whole new arena of problems for customers regarding their charging system in their cars.

How far back does dot look at ELD? Can they go back further than 24 hours during a stop?

These aren’t cheats. This is basic day one shit.
Hey Dave. I just watched your ELD video. This is great information (almost all of it) but all legal (almost all of it). When you unplug your ELD and move the vehicle, the 'driving' portion is place in unassigned driving report in Keeptruckin. If you have a safety department/person, they should be clearing out these entries. If they have a Compliance Review, it will be discovered if they are not assigning the entries. Even if the driver starts and ends in the same place, the unassigned entry will show how long the vehicle was moving and how long the driving portion took. Some companies will care about this being accurate and others won't. Just a mention. Once it is applied to the appropriate driver 'under driving', it will break your sleeper and creates a violation.

It's most likely a mirror effect because of the device he's using to record with. If he's using the camera on a phone it doesn't digitally reverse the image like other cameras do so the veiw is backwards left/right. It's either that or he's in Eurasia somewhere.

Hotshot Dave I know was just saying I don’t like how it does that it gets me a lot of times dealing with partial loads. Just the other day had 2.5 hrs drive left but 14 ran out and 3 hrs was off duty so saved on my 70. I hardly ever have a problem with my 70 because of what I do I am almost always home Saturday and Sunday. I leave from here on Monday and run usually 1500-2000 miles out drop then run back and drop Friday or Saturday so mine resets every weekend
