You were the inspiration for me to restore a c-40 for myself. Thanks Ken. As I was reaming out the handle, it all fell apart into 2 pieces. No worries. A little more sanding and some great epoxy filled the handle and mated up a great badger knot on top! while not as beautiful as yours, it still fills the nostalgia and cool factor for me just fine.
Do not often come across products from India. Especially handmade. And in this country the culture of shaving is developed. It was lucky that soap having done this way got to you. Pearl razor returned, very good. I constantly tighten the skin on my neck, in the first pass. If the soap dries on the face, we can use a pre-shave, or add oil to the lather. Also add glycerin to the lather too. Thanks Ken!

Kensurfs So, have you extended your shave den with Christmas stuff? I splurged on west coast shaves lol. Got myself a Parker badger brush, a merkur futur, a Parker progress and a few after shaves. Not too long ago got a fatip Nero. So the den is coming along nicely. Just out of curiosity, where did you get that awesome crystal skull? I gotta have one!
I have all three trigodon artisians shave soaps I got them from Amazon they are amazing and I use them with my shavettes my saftey razors and my electric razors doesn't clog the razors and the smell is amazing on all three.
Nice Shave!, Trigodon Soaps are good, I had a sample of the "Turquoise Dream Shave Soap" and it smelled amazing. If possible do try the Biotique - Bio Palmyra shaving cream - another good shaving soap/cream from India. As always Pearl OC did a good job, another OC which you may know already is the Parker 24C/ Parker 26C razor. Would like to see you using other products from India as well.
Good afternoon Ken! Nice shave soap journey story...very unique. Your Pearl razor is lovely. I am looking forward to the upcoming shaves. I'm amused by seeing Christmas trees in the warmer climates, such as the tropics and temperate regions...Christmas trees need snow or at least bitter cold...lol. I went to one of those updated AMC Theaters with those power reclining seats and at seat service...I fell asleep during the movie! Too much comfort I guess. Stretching the skin taut makes a flat surface so the razor blade cut cleanly without cut the slack skin. That is good technique. Excellent shave Ken. Merry Christmas to you and yours!

Ahh, for this Midwesterner, it's always funny to see people running around in shorts (ref: the quick clip of Fashion Island) during the winter. I've always appreciated having four seasons, I guess. And your gripe about having to run out for "popcorn and other crap" in the middle of a movie sounds really familiar. Anyway, as usual, great shave. Great shave Ken. I'm back to DE safety razors now & I always pull downward on my neck area with my opposite hand. It keeps me from getting cut & results in a closer shave on my neck area which is very problematic for me. I've also learned to use the smooth leather side of my strop after installing a new blade to take the harshness away from 1st shave that you normally get. I get a better shave when I do.
So far i have 3 choices. The Gillette Slim, The original double OC razor from Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements and the German 37 from RazoRock. I recently tried the German version of the Wilkinson Sword and they're fabulous.
It's unfortunate that Pearl do not sell that SSH-01 open comb here in India. They only sell that model for the US market. Have been looking to buy one for some time.
Regarding the thing about the blade sticking out more to one side . You should check if the holes in the blade are cut different than normal - I never heard that being a problem before but you never know.

stefan andrei I only film 2 Shaves a week. The other 5 days I use all my soaps. In rotation. But if I used the similar ones in every video it would be like a repeat. I also give them to my family if I do not use them or give them away in an appreciation video 👍💈🎄
I had a look up on the ingredients in the soap a while ago and they disappoint absolutely. At appx 10$ i would prefer any of the wonderful artisan soaps available in the USA pay customs and import and still be cheaper than this local soap.

If you create a soupy, sloppy, slick lather, you don't have to worry about soap drying on the face. Wet Heads Forever!
