- I was receiving a lot of questions under my videos about some techniques and tricks. This guide can become an answer to many of them. This is the first time I create video like this so don't judge me harshly.
I think this guide will be interesting for those who are starting their way in speedruning Hitman or want to be a little faster and smoother in their runs.
Important notes:
- Guide was made on PC version of the game and some of the described tricks can work different on Consoles.
- I want to apologize for my english, it's not my first language and I haven't had much practice lately.

I played this game like for 1500 hours now and yet there are some new tricks for me in your video. I noticed many of those tricks , but I dont known how they works. Great Video. I was wonder if you have plan for future make full trilogy speedruns on stream :) I will be big fan of that.

I need more practice on some maps (especially from H2), but I was definitely thinking about trilogy :D
Tip for console players: fast interact also works on things like picking up items, taking a disguise, etc.
ie, instead of having to wait that half a second or so for the prompt to “circle” and actually work, you can inventory stutter then fast interact to pick up items at the same speed as PC players (since that [completely unnecessary] wait time for the prompts is a console-only thing.) Super useful if you’re running by an item you need and don’t have the time to wait for the prompt.
*[console players] also keep in mind, you need to press ‘B/circle’ (to exit inventory) before ‘Y/triangle’ for fast interact to work. since we can’t switch controls on consoles, ‘Y/Triangle’ doubles as the **_drop item_** action in the inventory, which “overrides” the prompt you’re trying to interact with.*
you have to change how you do fast interact slightly depending on what you’re using it for:
INV + B + Y (INV + CIRCLE + TRIANGLE)
- works for fast exits, picking up items, or interacting with prompts like tamper, release winch, etc.
INV + X + A (INV + SQUARE + X)
- *works for taking a disguise quickly.*
- since you usually exit your inventory with the same button required to disguise, you need to exit with a separate button (that doesn’t have a downside,) hence ‘X/SQUARE.’
- speed this up more by crouching immediately after you begin putting on the disguise and uncrouching halfway through to “leave” the disguise animation earlier.
INV + X + B (INV + SQUARE + CIRCLE)
- works for *grabbing a body to drag.*

Unfortunately "Quick shots" don't work anymore. It was fixed in recent patch.
Also boost on Alexa's balcony in Dartmoor doesn't work.

I can't believe I didn't know about that quick shot technique. I've always found myself releasing the aim button too soon and getting stuck in the hipfire animation. Useful video:)

one thing that i noticed is that when you throw a briefcase the nearest npc including the target surrounded by guards will walk up immediately to pick it up without hesitating (or calling it in if they are a guard) to then drop it at the guards if you are not seen throwing the case
Yep, that's a nice trick, it's known as "Visual lure". Person who sees the briefcase just goes for it.

I think this is my difference from default binding:
"Crouch" - "C" and one of side mouse buttons;
"Holster" - Scroll button on mouse;
"Drop Item" - "3"
"Inventory" - "Tab"
"Item Placement" - "Alt"
"Retrieve From/Conceal In Briefcase" - "Y" and one of side mouse buttons.

I use 'Tab'. I think I took it because of GTA binds.

Does the fast briefcase unpacking only work on the smaller snipers or does it also work for the bigger ones that have to be "assembled"? Also does the unpacking glitch work in reverse where you pack up the sniper?
It works only with Sieger rifles and Hackl Leviathan. It doesn't work with "assembling" ones.
It also works in reverse, you press crouch before packing it into briefcase. But for me, it doesn't feel like it gives that much advantage.
Please note the spots in dartmoore are patched however you can take cover and then vault with a spot it might work with the original spots. i have not tryed this was a helpfull video genP the qwickshots are my favourate lesson ✌
Yes, it works with both spots. Also one more spot was found, It's on the other side of Alexa's office balcony.
How do I do the boost spots in Dartmoor? I keep ending up just hanging over the railing.

Yes, unfortunately they patched Mendoza boost and last Dartmoor boost in the recent patch.
Can you make an in depth video of gun lures and mud shots? I think I am not the only one who doesn't understand them

Binding fast unpack to 1,2,3 is also a good idea imho.
how did you get the krugermeyer to mudshot on prof mode? it only works for me on casual mode
There is no difference how pistols work on different difficulties. It's just a bit less stable with kruger.

Do any of these tips work on controller?
all of them work albeit harder to perform
Fast interact requires an extra step in having to exit inventory before interacting with a prompt on controller. So instead of _INV + Y,_ you need to do _INV + B + Y_ in quick succession. (or _INV + CIRCLE + TRIANGLE_ if you’re on PS.)
Briefcase unpacking can take slightly longer on controller because of that half-second or so ‘wait’ before the prompt works (that PC doesn’t have.) You can get around this by fast interacting when you pull something out of the briefcase.
Everything else works essentially the same way.

square+triangle is far easier to slide

Hey, how to instantly change disguise on keyboard or is that a controller only thing.
What do you mean? I think default bind is "T" so you just press it. You can spam crouch when pressing T to make it slightly faster.
How come fast shots are mad inconsistent for me? Like, 2 out 4 times it doesn't actually shoot for me, yet I feel like i'm not doing anything different? Instinct>ShootButton>UnInstinct>Aim
It happens to me too but not very often. Try to press shoot button multiple times while in instinct to make sure that shot is stored.
I just switched over to pc from xbox and i just cant mudshot anymore, could this be an FPS related problem? I am really confused maybe someone here has a tip for me :/

I never played hitman on controller so I can't give you exact answer.
Maybe practice and experiments will reveal stable methods to you.

Surprised I didn’t see the muffin trick or the violin and breaching charge trick I know how they work but I can’t get it consistently
I remember I wanted to make separate video about boosting but then they patched it out and released freelancer and then patched it back so I got distracted.

what’s the best looking and aiming sensitivity?
I use 0.6 sensitivity in game and 800 dpi on mouse, but I think it fully depends on your personal preferences and habits.
Does fast unpacking not work with all snipers? e.g. Druzhina
Yes, it only works with rifles that have fast unpacking in general so you can make it even faster with this tech. Only Sieger rifles and Leviathan have it.

They mention Dartmoor in patch notes, but I didn't know they fixed Mendoza's boost too ☹

They removed it in some of freelancer's updates. It had something to do about freelancer crates or something else there.
