I’ve had alligator once; it really does taste like chicken, but has the texture of pork. I would eat it again if offered to me, but it’s not something I would seek out. As for the pâté, every time I’ve had it here in the States, it was served as part of a charcuterie board, with other meats, and a selection of cheeses and crackers. You really don’t eat it by itself like you did, unless it was fois gras. And congratulations to Mega Brain 6000 on his impending college graduation and good luck on the job hunt.

I would frequently go to a bar in El Paso for gator bites. sadly it closed do to a shooting that happened. Sad..

It's eaten in the united states where I'm from lol it's like pork or chicken, but a little bit uh, greasy or slimy idk. It's subtle but you can tell your eating a lizard lol. Pretty enjoyable nonetheless.

Welcome back Megabrain, good to see you. I have always wanted to try Croc/Alligator. But it's a little hard to find in my area. But the search goes on. Those vending machines are crazy awesome. I want to do a trip to Japan just to visit as many vending machines as possible, Start at one end of Japan and work my way to the other. LOL

Gotta try the alligator tail and jowl! The legs are a darker meat, which is why it's red (and probably tasted like chicken thigh/pork). The prized part of the tail (tenderloin) is white meat and is like 50% veal, 25% chicken, 25% fish.
Also, I really do appreciate how you try everything you're served (or everything that you order) and really respect the culture and person who put the time/effort into making the dish. Cheers, Eric!

I did warn you that crocodile was really chewy lol! Pate de Campagne, is basically a country pate - usually made with pork, duck and chicken livers, and best served spread on toast or on a lump of baguette... without the bread, it does taste a little like dog food lol! Its very easy to make at home, freezes well and makes a great emergency starter when you have unexpected guests :)

Awesome video! It's always great to see you and your son do a review together! Quality time with family is irreplaceable and is something that they will always cherish. We only have so much time on this earth and the more time we spend creating great moments with family and loved ones the better!
Absolutely LOVED the selection you had today! Did the Gator leg come with instructions/recipe or did you think to fry it up yourself? Whoever came up with it, it turned great and the presentation the foot still attached was incredible. Not only does it give you something to hold on to when eating it, but it also helps to remind you what you're eating. It genuinely looked something you'd get at some exotic gourmet restaurant. The fact it was pretty delicious made it even better!
Kind of surprised that they sold just the leg/arm, I was always told the best part and usually the only part most people eat is the tail part of the gator. Because it's basically pure muscle with very little bone. It never really made any sense to me since there is so much more usable meat on the body other than tail, and it'd be such a waste to not use it.

I am sooooo impressed that you all were able to take a bite of that alligator leg with paw nails and skin still on!!
