Eric eating the vinegar soup over the rice looks like a smart move. The kare kare chicken and the bbq meat from the US meal were my favorites. I was eating a salad and would have liked to reach out and partake. :)

The Dude's Got It is right that Julie usually complains and puts down other cultures' foods, but in this one, she thought everything was great. She did not hide this fact, but it was annoying to watch.

Sinigang is a sour soup that uses tamarind or iba-iba (which is a sour fruit found in the Philippines) to make the soup sour and you can have with it either pork, beef, chicken, seafood or just plain veggies.

The purple in halo halo is not sweet potato but "Ube"😁 its a purple yam which originated in the PH but you can find it in some parts in the world now.It has a distinct natural purple color and flavor and one of all Filipino fav ingredients to use in some dish and dessert.😁

I want to hop on a plane to CA as soon as the pandemic settles down! The food from CA looked like food from home (Hawaii) & I miss home now! The Kare Kare, BBQ Meats, Lechon Kawali, along with the Bagaong is making my mouth water! Where I am now we don't have Filipino restaurants so I have to live vicariously through you all. As for the food from Japan, The Sinagag Soup & Lumpia Shanghai looked delicious. Filipino food should be salty, sweet, sour, bitter, it's suppose to touch all the taste buds in your mouth & so you leave with a full belly & a great big smile! Thanks for the video. Look forward to next adventure!

filipino food is very interesting, it's probably the most diverse southeast asian food since it draws together elements from so many surrounding countries as well as the usa. but yes, filipino restaurants seem to be hard to find, there are a few in the seattle area and we have one jollibee location. seems really odd because i run into filipino people everywhere around here....

filipino foods are trying all the flavor blend in ... salty..sweet...sour ... savory ..bitter some times.... thats why it might be over whelming ...thats where the rice comes in... rice will help to mellow it a bit..and we have alot of dipping sauce and "atsara"(pickles) (most common is made of green papaya) so when it is serve with dipping sause or side dish, use it,its part of the dish.. and always eat with a spoon .. spoon on the dominant hand, fork to guid as much rice and dish to the spoon so you can taste all the flavors as much as you can..filipino meats are cooked really tender,it should be easily cut buy a spoon, if you cannot cut it with a spoon, the cook failed you .. the filipino secret of tender flavorful meat is "gisa" and "sangkutsa" (cooking technic)

In General Filipino food is a 5 out of 6 for me. The cons are its normally heavy because rice is a must and it tends to be repetitive with most main dish being somewhat Vinegar base sweet and greasy. The pluses are well its very tasty addictive and personally a great food for parties since its really fun to eat specially their legendary PIG called lechon.
