Later sampled by New Edition in the song "Hit Me Off"
The performances are tight, the groove is funky and the production is immaculate. Bob James music stands the test of time
I remember meeting Mr. James, at a hotel that I used to work at. A very mellow and nice man to talk to. His music is great too.
Big up Don Fresh! Another Friday hit.
It's always a journey through sound when I hear Bob's music.😊😊
BBD where right in sampling this masterpiece😉😉
Bob James always into something!
New Edition - Hit Me Off
Yup. Great Song
I support Bob James.
Let me start off by saying Bob James is truly a magnificent musician every song he's ever done has a been a complete Masterpiece he has the best band behind him his music is always captivating blood pumping what more can I say.
Hi. I’m punctuation. Have we met?
I was only familiar with Grover Washington when this came out and mistakenly thought it was his! I was in high school then and not paying attention. Got the Bob James wake up call with Westchester Lady. Fortunate enough to have seen each of them in concert. So grateful!
Bob James did compose some Grover Washington songs so it makes sense.
So grateful to wake to this. 🌞Happy Monday to all.
STILL BAD IN 2023 🔥
NWA - Alwayz Into Somethin (1991). Man, this is one of my all time favorites tracks from Mr. James! I love the chilling vibe!

Killer lineup. I saw Will Lee perform a number of times with Hiram Bullock and that was a revelation. This track is one of my Bob's favorite.
@@marcusvolta6685 Will Lee is one of those underappreciated studio musicians you read about. If you check his astounding body of work, you'll find he's played with almost every artist from every genre of music. Rock & Roll, R&B, Soul, Jazz, Gospel, Easy Listening, Disco and Funk. Who knew he performed with James Brown, Barbara Streisand, Roberta Flack, George Benson, The Brecker Bros., Spyro Gyra, Diana Ross, David Sanborn, Carly Simon, Al Green and Cat Stevens just to name a few?! Very impressive.
The absolute cream de lá creme of the N.Y. session mafia! Just reading these credits it makes me wanna cry!
Just want to to thank you for your vision and all the reinterpretations of it. you are a king amongst men.
Best always
Great Song
Classy as always. You're the man!
Grand Daddy IU bought me here...such an awesome classic!
Playing this at work.Besides the music i love the visual as well.Since none of this generation is bringing this music I would like Mr.Bob James to bring it.I am not dead yet.I still have passion for jazz music. We are not taking over from the music that the new generations like we just like diversity.
Check out Anderson .Paak. He’s a rapper, singer, drummer and all-around funky, soulful artist and he draws heavily from 70s jazz and funk
New Edition sampled the Hell out of this for Hit Me Off
As did N.W.A. Alwayz Into Something.
Their writer producer did
so did rhymester.
th-cam.com/video/-RcCjsxoEMQ/w-d-xo.html

New Edition Hit Me Off
EL LONG PLAY "BOB JAMES THREE FUE MI PRIMER DISCO IMPORTADO QUE COMPRE EN AB DISCOS DE EL SR ANGEL BRAVO Y ME COSTO EN $225.00 EN EL AÑO 1975 Y ES UNO DE MIS MUSICOS FAVORITOS ATENTAMENTE GERONIMO RODRIGUEZ RAMIREZ MUCHAS GRACIAS.
