I love how in this video William seems just like any other random (albeit very talented) person covering a FOB song in his bedroom. If you didn't know who he is, you would have no idea that he knows the band personally.

They are often custom fitted for an individual's ears to provide comfort and a high level of noise reduction from ambient surroundings. So he had it in to hear the song to get the vocals right.
Okay, so when listening to a cover of a song, it's best to erase any predispositions about the band being covered and listen to the voice covering said song. No one will ever be Patrick and no one will ever be William. TAI was not FOB and vice versa. Completely different sounds. tl;dr, don't be elitist.
