    Man, this story is moving FAST. Now info saying that Sterling WAS INDEED informed last Friday that he has no future at the club, Sterling is looking to get a permanent move out (that was obvious from the statement already), etc...

    • @theweekndxo7438
      @theweekndxo7438 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +27

      Listen, I love Abramhovic for what he did and he's the reason I got to watch my team win the UCL and a prem (during my time as a fan), but realistically he was also holding us back from becoming an empire like City. He never replenished the squad after major trophies, at least in recent times. He wanted Pep SIX times and was always rejected because Pep was quoted saying that Chelsea doesn't give managers time. If we didn't have the reputation just IMAGINE what could have been. We could've been the ones winning a treble.
      After we won the league in 16/17, Conte was asking for Naingolan, Vidal, Lukaku and a right back but I can't remember who, to replace Matic, Costa and Moses. What we got was Drinkwater, Bakayoko (made sense at the time), Zappacosta, Rudiger, Christensen and Morata. Rudiger and Christensen at the time weren't good and the rest were terrible quality.
      After we won the UCL in 2021 purely off Tuchel's coaching, we only got Lukaku and he didn't want him, he wanted Haaland. It was a board room signing which failed in months. That was our ONLY signing that summer, that's bad. He also sacked managers way too quickly during poor spells, and yes the new owners are doing something similar but it's for different reasons.

      @@theweekndxo7438good analysis there! So why do you think Tuchel was sacked after they are willing to give him Sterling and the other back that's sold to Saudi. Then move to Poch and after he did well at the end of last season now decided to part ways and find another manager again and find Maresca. What are the reasons for each of them?

    • @theweekndxo7438
      @theweekndxo7438 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      @@footballfan5048 Tuchel was sacked because they wanted their own man in charge, that's pretty much the consensus amongst journalist and fans. It had nothing to do with performances, they couldn't do it when they first came so they waited and because of some poor results they took that opportunity to sack him. They also didn't GIVE Tuchel the players they bought that summer. Those weren't Tuchel specific signings, the only ones Tuchel wanted was Aubameyang and a loan midfielder (Zakaria).
      Poch it's very simple again and it's a clear consensus amongst journalists. He wasn't "sacked" idk where you're getting that info, not every single time a manager leaves is he "sacked." He agreed to leave because they didn't want him involved in transfers and he wanted more control. The owners want a yes man, Tuchel wasn't, Potter was, they thought Poch would be one, but he wasn't and now Maresca is again.
      Nothing you said was a "gotcha" I hope you realize that.

It's why players like Gallagher looked good although he continuously lacked situational awareness and would run and press into space losing the shape of the team.
      Poch just wasn't it, he came in with one tune and quickly started singing another. He just doesn't work long term with this squad without making a huge overhauls to the squads structure. Maresca fits this squad far more than Poch especially with the technical and tactical approach he has.

      Now there is someone new in charge and it seems like they r tackling the actual issues. Who knows if it works out but at least they r attempting to solve the core issues.
      Abramovic def fired managers too quickly but at least they had a winning team.
      No idea what this new owner is doing/letting be done. Buying more players than others is one thing, but there needs to be a plan. They bought a 23/24 year goalie for 20+mil who is almost guaranteed to get zero playing time unless he gets loaned out (like many of his teammates).
      Whats the point of hoarding young players when they wont develop and become players for ur own club or be sold for a profit? Spending a lot is one thing, but theres need to a coherent plan.

No 20 goal striker, no standout centre back that is going to play every game and be a leader, no outstanding goalkeepers, just a lot of decent guys. I just don't understand why they didn't create a crazy starting 11 at first with decent subs, so they can compete right here, right now, and then you can try to add some young talent, loan them out and sell them for profit. It's like the only important thing is to get as many youngsters possible, not to actually improve the team. significantly.

But I think it's less of a surprise to me the way things have played out so far, and I don't really agree with it being a "mess". Whether you believe them or not, they have basically stated that the entire operations of the club needed to be re-worked. Also, as an American, I can see how the ownership's dealings can be seen as brash. But to me they are being ambitious, and I really do believe have the club's success prioritized. The Chelsea teams that have had major successes in the years leading up to Clearlake's purchase were not ever the most talented in England/Europe, but I believe for short periods of time they were coached at a world class level. Jorginho, Alonso, Kovacic, Kepa, etc. (while at points being good players) were not striking fear into City, Liverpool, or any European team on their level. There are certainly a wide range of outcomes for how this goes but I'm more optimistic than others. But there needs to be continuous improvement as each season going forward is going to garner more pressure than the last.

    I don't blame the fans booing him at the first game. He reminds me of Sarri a lot. Sarri was a super idealistic coach that only played with a plan A, no plan B. He played one of his best players (Kante) out of position the whole season for the sake of the system and this new coach is doing the same with Reece James. He also played Nkunku and Palmer out of position against City. Sarri at least had top tier experience this new coach doesn't. The fans were horrible to Sarri and I hope they're going to be even worse to this new coach if he doesn't implement a plan B !!! 💙💙💙

    I think you were correct the first time. Sacked he was.
    My only observation is how the manager/coach now is making decisions that will ultimately impact the value of the players at the club.
    With 42 players perhaps less now and with only 21 wanted it is a fire sale.
    The club spent £50m on Raheem Sterling. Their dearest hope is that he heads for Saudi so as to recoup the majority however, his salary of £325k+ is a stopping block for many.
    The coach without reservation says he is not his type of winger and they strip him of his squad number.
    His value is circa £20m or less now.
    To say the owners do not know what they are doing is to play the point.
    All that is left is to be charged with riding roughshod over the FFP rules and/or deducted points or relegated.

    One factor you overlooked is how well Chelsea sell. For ex: CFC will STILL get paid 5 Mil from Real Madrid for Hazard, this year. Already over 100 mil in sales. The Joao Felix deal is a bargain and a burden, but will probably work out. If he's healthy, he'll still see a good price when he's 28 or 29. Clearlake will take a loss in one area to make gains in others, Like with Lukaku and Gallagher. In any case, we'll see how much in the red or black Clearlake make us.
    These guys are "fail fast," guys. Make your mistakes up front, fix it with cash and take your lessons and benefit your new idea. That's why it looks crazy.
    If we get Osimhen and make CL for next year, it's a different outlook.

      @@Leo-tn3ep This isn't anything new to Chelsea though, the term loan army was used when referring to Chelsea (even though I doubt the club was even the first to do so). The whole loaning and selling system was used under Roman, however what the club is doing now, or more so Blueco is for the multi club model like how Man City just moved Salvinho to their main club. If you want to bring up anything for sure, it's the prices they're paying for the youth that aren't going directly into the first team is my main issue although they do spend well for these positions but some seem under cooked with the main one being GK of an actual quality but last year Jackson was a good signing but nowhere close to being Striker quality.
      When anyone brings up the keeps Bergstrom is a youth keeper, Bettinelli is 3rd choice since pre-Tuchel and Jorgensen is the actual new signing.
      The main problem is the signing of players without having the full multi club model running.

    However, the many issues is whether Chelsea will be successfully in two departments, one is on the pitch and the second is buying another sister club besides Strasbourg. Last relevant news on BlueCo (Owner's of Chelsea) about purchasing a majority stake into a club was seems to be late 2023 and has currently run cold, we will wait and see if these two demands will be met.

    Lots of bias against Chelsea. Not saying you’re bias, but Chelsea are basically doing what everyone says they have to do (get rid of the old guard) and still getting criticized for it. The club’s owners can’t win in the eyes of the media. It’s not worth even trying at this point. I mean, even you point out that Chelsea would save £50m in wages getting sterling off the books-then you turn around and point to the fact that he’ll have to be sold cheaply. Who cares if he’s sold for cheap if selling him means you save £50m on a player who isn’t good enough anymore?
    Rival fans and pundits don’t care to see the situation the way it really is because they’re in it for fun and money respectively. Even plenty of Chelsea influencers are basically reactionary populists with opinions founded purely on assumptions and facts without context. The point is, Chelsea are doing the right thing by pushing out players like Chalobah, Sterling, Lukaku, Kepa, and even Gallagher (given he refused an extension twice). Keeping those players without already having younger alternatives in the door is actually WORSE than just having them there and languishing mid table for eternity.
    I as a Chelsea fan am very pleased that the ownership is willing to spend money now so that the team can be successful and sustainable for a long time. What I’m unhappy about is the media’s portrayal of it all. It’s making being a fan of football in general very difficult. At the very least, it’s given me perspective that all the hate given to other clubs at times is also founded on absolute nonsense.

      It's because the way Chelsea is going about it isn't safe for the club. Like it was mentioned in the video by stocking up on players without offloading the others the ball is now in the buying clubs park.
      Think of Arsenal and their Arteta project. It took 3 season for them to sustainably get rid of the deadwood and replace them. Not once during this project have I seen articles linking Arsenal with potential Profit and Sustainability breaches.
      It's not the fact they're trying to overhaul the squad it's the way they're going about it. As a Chelsea fan you should be screaming at the ownership to hit the breaks before the club crashes.

    • @kayceee6770
      @kayceee6770 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@alr68 This is the point everyone brought up under Potter after the squad just wasn't good enough and when Mount was on 1 year left and didn't sign an extension.
      The club almost has 2-3 tiers of signings. The 1st team, the players to loan out and the players to bring into the youth setup.
      All the club needs now to not make their model seem so chaotic is the multi club model since the costs of the signings are all on the club Chelsea.
      It's not that everything is perfect and makes absolute sense, but most of the things when concerning signings have been good with issues being acquiring players for the youth with inflated prices since they view the investment differently as the amortise their signings.
      Players will be sold, and the holes in the squad will be rectified. But with a club like Chelsea even when things are done for the betterment of the club someone will chime in and say everything is wrong when the broken sink just got fixed. One minute someone talks about wages and squad age when the squad has one of the lowest average salaries with a few on higher with an incensement contract, then they'll bring up experience when we have player that are around 26 and lower. Sterling is now the oldest in the starting players of last year left after Thiago left, however now he's set to leave lowing the "42 man squad" that's not even anywhere that large.
