      @DroidTech 40mph i would get a full facemask. Also look for the xiaomi seat addon. I put that on my ecoreco l5. Now i have a seat on my scooter. I cannot guarantee it will fit on the rev. But if i get one i can try to add it on to see if it fits.

      I´d rather fly over a car than smash into it. My bet is that it is actually safer to stand when you actually crash, but less safe in the aspect that you crash more often because of balance problems when you break hard.

      an average skier or snowboarder will do 40mph on a good slope, a pro can hit three figures.

    • @mylesgray3470
      @mylesgray3470 5 ปีที่แล้ว +50

      I’ve ridden fast stand up shooters and I agree 40mph is a death wish. The thing with shooters likes these is your feet are not bolted down like a snowboard. One big bump and your feet leave the platform and you just hope you land correctly or your face planting on the pavement. It’s a terrifying feeling over 25mph. 40 would be nuts. I’ve gone 80 on a sit down scooter no problem because you have 1 more point of contact to keep control. Makes a difference.

      As an owner I can say - the cable disk brakes work very well. If you mash them, you can lock it up, so you look to use the back brake more than the front. The disks are the same size as you would find on a bike, but they are on 10" tires, so they get tremendous leverage.

    • @ruslans6662
      @ruslans6662 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      the boosted one is almost twice as light than this one and (may not be true) could be more reliable and well-built, while also having dual motors, enough speed and about the same range. That extra power you get might really not be necessary for you cause every kph adds more and more danger to your ride. Of course, there's a surplus for it being developed and manufactured in the USA (that can cost like 30% extra depending on the comparison)

      @@ruslans6662 Boosted is 46 lbs. Lightning 77. BOTH too big for "last mile"/ take onto train or bus. Lighting vastly faster, acceleration beast, and excellent suspension compared to Rev, which has NO suspension. For "last mile" get a second, smaller cheaper scooter. The Lighting will put a smile on your face, and comfortably ride over cobblestones, for 1/2 the price of a Dualtron. Rev is middle size and great at nothing. Aimed at newbies who will learn an expensive lesson.

The servicing is very easy, almost no maintenance. Tyres can be changed in 5 minutes and the screws dont seem to come loose very often although i do check them regularly for safety. The only thing i would change on it is the suspension, its a little bit weak for very heavy riders but it does the job.

    I have a 2-mode 1500 watt foldable chain-driven escooter. I actually like the 1st mode which is good to about 10 mph b/c I ride on the bike path where there's a lot of people. It keeps the scooter civil when in the crowds. Mode 2 is jerky at low speed, so it's good to kick in once you're already moving. Mode 2 brings the scooter up over 30mph, so I tend to use the mode switch just like gears. It works out very nice.

      build Motosykletist exactly.. I've been riding small bikes for 15 years, usually have one as a backup/local fuel saver. And I've yet to have an on road accident, my one good fall happened on gravel, in the dark going 5mph.. ripped my knee open down to the Bone. Anyway, when on roads I never assume I'll be seen and treat every intersection like a car is about to blow through it.. also give plenty of room for unexpected lane changes on multi lane roads, stay out of lanes with merging traffic, never sit in blind spots, never count on someone else's reaction time and generally just try to be defensive as all hell. Ride safe!

      Ecoreco is complete and utter trash. I ordered a “good” condition, “under 200 miles” scooter from their reverse auction deal. It came in and looked like it was a lime or bud scooter. Completely trashed. Rubber was literally peeling off of the tires. Charging port not attached properly. Entire screw heads just ground down completely. Absolutely unacceptable and the handlebars weren’t straight either!
      Sent it back, got a refund, and spent double ($1000) on the Turbowheel Dart. Brand new, goes 26mph, 28 downhill, full suspension, LEDs all around, etc. way better construction, awesome dash, etc. I’d recommend eWheels and the Turbowheel line of scooters long before the EcoReco scooters.

At the same time I want to go all ev after buying a set of battery power lawn gear a mower, blower, and line trimmer. It was night and day. It just make everything so easy. Long story short I got denied a credit loan even if I can afford the monthly payments with 750 credit score. So since I can't buy an ev car. I'm looking for alternative. Incredible performance for the price: 3.6 KW or 4.8 hp. Just bought a bicycle for around the same price. However, depending on where you live, if it goes faster than 20 mph, it's classified as a motor vehicle and you have to get plates and insurance. The premiums would be sky high because the most expensive policy component is accident benefits - and you're likely going to need them if you hit anything bigger than a squirrel.

    One more thing, you you want to drive fast and the seller gives you the option to install hydraulic brakes I would recommend them, they work very well. What the scooter is missing is an effective front light. There are some lights in the plattform, the back red light is very well visible, and it flashes when you break, so this is pretty good. But if you want to drive at night you need to mount an additional front light, and there is no way of connecting it to the main battery without taking the scooter apart, and playing with the electronics. So take this into account. Also you can set the strength of regenerative braking, so the scooter will use motors to slow you down, getting some of the energy back, then when you slow down a lot if will use the mechanical breaks, this definitely makes the breaks to wear off less. Also the scooter in not water sealed, so riding in heavy rain is not recommended.
    There are multiple choices of tires, the ones in this video are the smallest ones, there are also offroad tires, around twice as wide with large thread, and there is one option that is something in between, which I use, and they work very well, not too offroad, so there is no noise on asphalt from the thread, but much larger than the standard ones. When it comes to tires and range it really doesn't matter much, what matters for range is how fast are you going, above 45 km/h you will be draining the battery much faster than when you go 35 km/h (very comfortable speed). Also when you like to accelerate a lot, the battery will be drained quickly. You can set the speed of acceleration on the LCD panel.
    The scooter is pretty high, so you go fast and your head is at very high position, so this is kind of scary, if you want to drive fast consider a helmet that will protect your jaw, if you fall over there is a good change that you will hit the ground with this part of your head. I also youse
    knees and elbows protection, and hand gloves.
    If your commute is between 15 to 30 km and a bicycle path is available for you, and you have a space where you can leave the scooter and charge it, and you have good weather it is a really great solution. Take into account that for me, charging the scooter after 40 km costs around 15 cents.
    That was pretty long, if you have questions ask.

    I drive an e scooter often, but I think over 25 km/h they are dangerous, because of the standing position and the small wheels, any bump or flat tire can send you flying, a flat tire is deflated almost instantly with small wheels.
    And for faster models, I think the free moving handle bar steering is also a problem, could be made like motorcycles to only be able to turn handlebar slower.

    • @k-leb4671
      @k-leb4671 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think up to 30km/h is fine with the right wheels.
      Honestly though I find the biggest problem with scooters is uphill mobility. I don't want to go really fast overall, but I would like to go 25-30km/h up a hill. I guess that's when these faster scooters are great.

    2:41 - I have the version with extended battery 52V 23A I can easily do 40km, with dynamic driving. The scooter has the most power when you charge it to 100% but it is not recommended to do this king of charging frequently. However I have friends that live 15km away, so if you start with battery charged to 80% and you like to play with fast acceleration all the time (what I do because it is fun to me) you charge will go down, and on the way back it will be slower. To solve this I bought a 58.8V 8A charger which very quickly will ramp up the voltage so I can have fun on the way back.

      I would say that both your heart and your kidney will be appreciated in organ donor program.

    I have the FLJ 5600 watt T112. Just got it and speed tested it today, I hit a genuine 50mph and it still had room to keep going but I back off because it was scary as hell.....please don't break please don't break...was what I was murmuring under my breath as the wind was slamming my face. haha The one hting is with this C-suspension it's hard to steer and turn, it will definitely take some getting used to.

    Have you ever been pulled over on this thing? I'm curious about the MA laws on these. I'm thinking about getting one for my commute to work

      Have you given one of the Bird or Lime scooters a-go in Brookline? I felt like I was COOKING and it was 16MPH, bumps are SEVERE at this speed and those don't have shocks but it is awesome none the less

      It's too bad you can't save a shit load on weed over there. Poor government now became a drug dealer and shot up weed prices with its monopoly.

    Feelsbadman to live in Italy some times. Actually it always feels bad, but rn it feels worse. This thing could make me fly to class/work so easy and without breaking a sweat (so in summer I wouldn't arrive sweating like a pig because of having to walk under the scorching heat and sun.) and I would be able to bring it everywhere, countrary to my bike.

    So he was too scared to go 40mph but 37mph wasn't a problem?

      He obviously had problems with 37mph as well and didn't dare to push it further as it was already sketchy.

    I don't need to read all 1,855+ comments to know that most of you are arguing the safety aspects of this. And I am going to bet very few have touched up on the simplest point, you are in jeopardy anytime you move. And often it has nothing to do with how fast you are moving, but rather who is moving at you. ;) You can be standing on a sidewalk and a vehicle hit you. ;) Whether or not you are being observant and taking the proper safety precautions is the bottom line. If you cannot ride one of these things at any speed, don't. If your area of travel is congested and or dangerous, take extra caution. Just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should. ;)

    Yes , standing you are certain to go head first over the bar. Plus the weight distribution is better. Men especially since our center of gravity is so high. I am not opposed to this scooter I am opposed to all small wheeled scooters. Small wheels mean trouble.
