    I got my Turbowheel Lightning last summer and it truly is the most fun of any of my pev's. I have several e-boards and an EUC and they're definitely easier to just pick and take with you anywhere than the scooter but the fun-factor of the TWL is just off the charts amazing! In my city they are street legal and bike trail legal, just can't ride them on the sidewalk - or at least we're not supposed to.

    I got the Lightning+ and love it. I was going a little too fast on it around a curve and crashed. But ever since then I have learned that this machine is powerful and to be more careful. It's not a just a toy. Awesome vid.

    I have an Apollo Pro which is a variation of the Turbo Wheel lighting. When I first rode it I was a little bit overwhelmed since it was the first time I an electric scooter in a few years. Now I'm used to it. Out here in NYC the cops don't bother you. You can ride in traffic. This is good at keeping up with traffic.

      These things are bad ass. But what will get them,banned is stupid people ripping buy people on the sidewalk at 40mph! Slow down around others walking and maybee they won't get banned. But my bet is that to many will get complaints from walking citizens about some kid ripping past them,at unsafe speeds on the sidewalk. They are already not road legal in some places lwere electric bikes are. Be wise or ruin the sport.

I have a scooter that does these speeds, but often times just cruise around at 25mph, then if there's a light thats gonna change, or i need to get away from traffic i bump into the higher speeds. Also since the battery is so large in these scooters doin 25mph with the occasional high speeds i easily get 100 miles on a charge. I'd rather have the available speed and not use it, than have something you're riding around at its limit all day on

    I always wondered why they put the kickstand at the way back. That seems annoying and less stable, but I dunno. Maybe there is a good reason. I'd imagine having it up front on the side of the front of the deck where you could easily tap it down as you step off, and having the stand closer to the leverage of the tall handlebars.
    I don't have one of these, but my nieces crappy razor scooter tips over all the time because if the ground is uneven or you bump it, the handlebars impart a twist and it falls at an awkward angle..
    What do I know. I'm no engineer! Lol

    I'm so surprised you've never heard of these power scooters! eScooters were my gateway as the One Wheel was yours. Now I'm eyeing ECUs but will need to rebuild my funds after my recent scooter upgrade! Have a look at the Kaabo Mantis Pro. I personally think it's better than the Turbowheel Lightning (called Zero 10X here in Australia). Lighter and just as powerful as the Lightning. Plus having that MiniMotors controller and throttle is so much better than the generic throttle of the Lightning.

      @estsicutest7482 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@aegisfate117 it's a well known factory defect still being discussed apparently but as a reputable manufacturer, they owned it and fixed it months ago at least in the US (this is a reason why you may not want to get a generic AliBaba stuff w Chinese "customer support" 7k miles of international waters away).
      Had no fear ordering it recently from reputable US dealer and content w it so far.
      The Mantis base was $1,500 which is nice for a brand name that goes 40 mph and weighs < 60 lb.
      The only negative is the battery capacity where it gets only about 12 real miles hauling 210 lb carcass up and down the hills of san francisco at full throttle. The Pro version has better range but of course at a substantial price increase bc it comes w other bells and whistles. It's cheaper to go on diet and lose 40 lb, l guess.

    You can't have hydraulic breaks - which you should have with that speed.

    I want to get one these not so I can go super fast everywhere, but just so I have the option to go fast if I ever need to.
    I'm sure you've had those times where you've wished your scooter would just go a little bit faster to get you where you're going.
    The extra speed could also help you avoid accidents that you otherwise couldn't avoid on a slow scooter, or even to get away from someone chasing you. You never know when you'll need to go fast but I bet you anything you'll be wishing you could go faster if the moment ever arrives.

    Good scooter and much easier to take places than an e-MTB. I personally would rather get an e-MTB for off-roading but whatever works for folks. For the money I would prefer the Kaabo Mantis Pro as it can clip down the stem when folded and is significantly lighter with a much better throttle and ESC package. There are also other power scooters out there better than the Lightning but that is still a great scooter. With the S18 and V11 EUCs now have suspension capabilities that will improve their already substantial off-roading capabilities. I will likely opt for the Veteran Sherman as I have become decent on my MTen3 trainer and I don't mind the weight of the Sherman.

  • @rustilldown7
    @rustilldown7 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I feel like the vast majority of riders ride these big scoots incorrectly. I always ride mine like I would ride my mountain bike, feet fairly staggered body pointing forwards. The "attack" stance I think is what it's called. Gives you better control over the thing in my opinion and lets one turn left or right much quicker while maintaining one's balance.

    • @e11even-o1p
      @e11even-o1p 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      yea. they kinda use the skateboard stance which is unnecessary with scooters,.

    • @thedejectedape953
      @thedejectedape953 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The wide skateboard stance gives you loads of stability when accelerating and braking that's why. If you have to break hard and you have your feet together covering the width of the deck pointing forwards then you're going one way - over the handlebars.

    • @soberacidtrip
      @soberacidtrip 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thedejectedape953 Nah that's BS. The way I ride is one foot on the kickstand, one foot facing forwards. Both slightly bent. When accelerating you put your weight on the back foot, and when braking you put your weight on the front foot. It becomes very natural and you don't even realise you're doing it.
      I cannot imagine riding a scooter that goes this fast like a skateboard (and I used to skateboard).

    • @lexsteel12
      @lexsteel12 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You should buy a full face motorcycle helmet. I bought one, and I'm glad I did. I had a crash several weeks ago on pavement, and ended up with a sprained wrist, and plenty of road rash to remind me. I didn't have full protection on. I won't make that mistake again. My full face helmet saved my head from serous injury.
