As a reserve deputy sheriff and vol ff I've seen many accidents in 20 years but nothing like this. I hate to even think of the young man killed and how obliterated he must have been. Very sad. Condolences to the family.
I thought that white debris was just a pile of trash. It took half the video to realize it was a a vehicle of some sort. I dunno know about you guys, but even with no opposing traffic, I normally do not pass on 2 lane highways. I also think people in general underestimate the sheer force that a big rig truck can exert.
My grandmother died on that bridge going into trinity by some kids on drugs. I miss her so much. And everytime I go across that bridge now to visit my grandma and grandpas graves in trinity I always think about what happened on that bridge. There’s been a few deadly accidents on their when I was growing up.
At about 9:30am Liberty County dispatchers received a call for a major accident on SH 105 in the Trinity River bottoms, just west of the Trinity River. Units arrived to find a 2012 Chevrolet Express van scattered across the bridge along with medical supplies. The van owned by a Medical Supply Company out of Burleson, Texas was driven by 27-year-old Zachary Bryant Ryals of Tomball. According to DPS Ryals was traveling east bound on SH 105 when he attempted t pass several vehicles in a passing zone just before the bridge. He was struck head on by 1985 Ford 18-wheeler pulling a log skid steer. The truck was driven by Robert Clarence Whitton, 55, of Cleveland. The trailer of that truck and the skid steer struck the van. The impact was so great that it broke the axle on the skid steer launching one of the monster wheels into the woods. The other wheel came to rest on the highway. The impact spun the van into the path of Bradley Paul Chesson, 35, of Cleveland. who was driving a 1992 Peterbilt and pulling a trailer with a knuckle boom log loader. Chesson hit the van head-on. The van came to rest in pieces on the bridge. The skid steer came to rest in the ditch on the north side of the road while the Peterbilt and log loader came to rest behind it in the ditch on the north side of the road. The 1985 Ford came to rest in the ditch on the south side of the road Ryals was pronounced dead on the scene by by Liberty County Precinct 5 Justice of the Peace Wade Brown. Pace Stancil removed Ryals from the scene.
How sad this happened. It never pays to hurry there is no place you need to be that is worth taking a chance with your life. The way people drive now days you never know. You may have plenty of time to pass when some one may decide to speed up or pass going in the opposite direction. My husband has driven semi for 30 years and was in a bad accident due to another semi driver going to fast. I am so sorry for your loss.
what a horrible accident, you cannot tell what kind of vehicle, this was, except we were told it as a van,...watching this, makes you realize how fragile life is.....R I P to this young man, and prayers for his family.....
it's horrible the one that was killed was my adorable cousin my whole family is shattered he was a great hearted man an has always been a survivor so we are so broken hearted an lost but he will always be in our hearts!!! I love you Zach the good die young an U were a good one but why you i guess i will never know but you Rest in Paradise!! we are missing you so bad already an we will never forget U for a moment I miss U an luv U
+Olivia Ketnor I am so very very sorry for your and your family's loss. As a traffic collision investigator I know that the thoughts of all the rescue and recovery personnel on a scene like that are very much with those most affected. Their prayers too...
+Olivia Ketnor My condolences. May GOD watch over you and your family. I lost a brother in a car accident. The woman was on the cell phone and not paying attention.
I have to take major interstates everyday just about to get anywhere from where I live and work and it's so scary the way ppl drive these days! I-40 or I-25
It took me 6 minutes to figure out what all that stuff in the road was. I thought it was a car...then u filmed a different angle n i thought it might have been a trailer of some sort. Then i saw the door and seats around 6 mins. Wow, how fast were they going to blast it apart like that?!?! Jesus, nothing is more important than your life and ur only given one. Be wise and watch ur speed when driving. Especially if its a big truck or something that can kill alot of people in the blink of an eye. Dont be dumb. Nothing is worth dying over or killing someone else over.
That company should get in some trouble for the condition of the flat bed trailer. The wood deck was rotted and holes all over. Didn't even look like it was road leagel
+Ricky Creason There's a link in the description under the video and it explains it. This was and unbelievable impact to do damage like that. I can say one thing positive, the victim never suffered a split second. RIP
Olivia Ketnor I am sorry for you and the rest of your family for losing such a young man. You are definitely not alone as many families are in the same boat as you and I will reassure you again, it would have been over in an instant. My mother lost her brother when he was 17, way back in 1955 in an auto accident that claimed his life and his best friend. It hurt them even worse because it happened on the eve of Dec 25th, Christmas Day. So my grandparents, my mother and her three brothers received a Christmas present that they did not want that year. I thought I'd tell you this to help you realize during this time of sorrow that you're not alone at all and really, Zach would never have felt a thing. God bless his soul and your family. Time heals the wounds of the heart, as it will yours.
+flashy5150 thank U an I do feel a little better thanks to u my family has been very fortunate this is the first real tragedy where it was a family member but you have really helped me to start this healing process an I appreciate you forever thank u
I would like to see explanations in your videos of what actually caused the accident. Makes it hard to figure out what went on by just seeing a video of wreckage.
Kathy Sparks Koonce, I feel the same way, I wouldn't have even know what all that white was if someone hadn't said in the comments. I normally look at all the comments and usually someone will explain.
I could not be in this line of work! My heart just wouldn’t be able to take it! 😢 This is truly horrifying! I have been in a fatal accident that killed my boyfriend. One car accident. It was extremely bad but Nothing like this! I miss and love you Carson Ray Solice! Forever!
I can't even imagine witnessing that there's absolutely no car left... I also definitely need a dash cam! I was almost wedged into a concrete barrier by a semi truck and trailer that didn't care I was even there before
Wait, wait. It reads the dude in the van was trying to pass a whole bunch of vehicles. What am I missing here? You mean to tell me he couldn't see a tractor trailer unit coming at him??
He might have panicked and stepped on the brakes or something like that instead of steering away, if he even had the space to do so. I see that when watching those dash cam crash compilations. Many wrecks are avoidable if you are quick-thinking enough.
Negative not in most places like before a bridge like this happend or a big hill the highway widens to two lanes for a little ways for faster traffic to make a safe pass without the danger of not being able to see whats comin at u
It seems to me that this is a result of someone hurrying to make deliveries and cutting corners to get there faster. Could be from pressures of a manager to get things done fast. It's a real shame that it has to result in the loss of life for a company to make money. All delivery drivers are pushed beyond safe boundaries to get things done and it makes things very unsafe for everybody.
But it's true , managers and supervisors and owners make people work fast. If they don't work fast their fired. Do now because he had a time frame thanks to the people above him. He never made it and he lost his life, they are out a worker and s work van. Maybe you owners and managers and supervisors could learn a lesson from this anf lighten up and lay off the workers!
Approximately about halfway through the video I heard an officer laughing. How in hell do you laugh on such a scene, and who the hell do you think you are??? That is incredible...no respect for the deceased whatever...I am shocked.
@ Tammy Ruth...with respect to your comment, sometimes laughter at these horrific scenes is a coping mechanism for some and you and I may not be able to fully understand as to why it can happen. The carnage they have to see on a daily basis and the bloodied bodies must be surmountable ....and harder for some to deal with such as we see here at this dreadful scene. I’m not saying it applies to the man we hear laughing at this scene ....but it is known that it does happen when someone is not able to deal with these tragedies emotionally.....we all have breaking points. Personally, I feel that the man is not coping too well, I could never think that anyone would find this tragic accident funny, at all.
As a reserve deputy sheriff and vol ff I've seen many accidents in 20 years but nothing like this. I hate to even think of the young man killed and how obliterated he must have been. Very sad. Condolences to the family.

It takes a hundred yards to stop a big truck the this driving 55 mph

Wow ... I don't hold Chevy at fault at all. Being hit by not one but TWO semis ... that's brutal, even for a car with excellent crash ratings.
bassmaster1953 Thanks for the story! What a tragedy.
Thank you for the info...I thought the seat was a Chevy seat but was unsure.
What a heart wrenching horror to deal with.
bassmaster1953 what day of the week?
prayers

it looks like the van just exploded on impact.
good spirits I couldn’t even tell what kind of car it was until I read the article... Damn...
car bombs don't do that much damage
What kind of car was that
Wow! I've seen some bad ones working with Fort Worth Fire but damn, this scene is a mess. Did they figure out how this happened?
+Ricky Creason There's a link in the description under the video and it explains it. This was and unbelievable impact to do damage like that. I can say one thing positive, the victim never suffered a split second. RIP
+flashy5150 thanks for saying he didn't suffer for a second cause that was truly bothering me so that brings a little comfort so thanks again;-))

Ever think about checking the video description?
When a 40-yd dumpster is brought in to clean up: that’s bad. Driver must have been obliterated.
What is the speed limit???????????
From the drivers seat and the wheel well and wheel that was a 1500 Chevrolet express Van
7:00 That's all that is left of a 2011 Ford F150. This must have been a chrash of horrendous proportions. God Rest his soul.
Why in the hell would anyone try to pass several vehicles on a two lane highway? Thats just plain stupid.
well that's a first. Instead of a tow truck, they brought a dumpster.
What's the cartoon noise at 7:15?
cambo1200 It's called a cellphone.
I'm sorry for your lost as well Olivia

Its amazing how many people die in accidents its sad just how many bad drivers are out there!
no disrespect to anybody involved in this awful awful accident....what did i see in that big tire that was being pushed out of way....gloves??
I thought about that too. How sad
I think hand hoping I'm wrong though.

It says he was passing in a passing lane. Fact is, his earth cycle was over is this is where his angel received him. No escaping that end but damn...
Was that a full size diesel that's smashed to bits??!!
Cargo van. What I thought was a trailer behind the seats was van
Glad there were no injuries to the van driver 👍😂
my goodness, that's like a nuclear bomb
Can't tell what I'm looking at
I've been watching many of these videos and it seems that this area these crashes are normal.
You cant even tell what kind of car or what that white thing is!!! Sad story go with god to the ones that died!!!
The decking of that trailer is totally rotted away, looks like the skidder the truck was hauling fell off..
