She saved the world by deciphering the formula in The Silurians when the Doctor was kidnapped and is virtually forgotten. She could have been a recurring character as scientific advisor in future years or spin offs
Back here on the day of her passing 🖤 rip my favourite late 60’s companion adore this gorgeous, intelligent and elegant soul I hope she rests in eternal peace 🥀🖤
@@timeladyjamie I do say Jamie had Liz Shaw been around for one or two more series of Doctor Who, she could have gone offplanet in the TARDIS encountered the Doctor,s Time Lord arch-enemy the Master himself and also encountered the Autons a second time and also the Axons, the Daemon Azal and the stone gargoyle Bok and also the Daleks and their henchmen the Ogrons, the Ice Warriors and also the Sea Devils the aquatic cousins to the SIlurians and also the Mutts and the people in Atlantis then she could have left Dr Who.
It's great to see you back! Liz is great, but seriously underrated and typically overshadowed by Three's other companions - Jo and Sarah Jane. She really did deserve more, or at least a proper send-off. It's a shame that Caroline John is no longer with us, because it would have been great to see her return as a high up in Kate Stewart's UNIT. I still remember how I learned that Caroline was married to Geoffrey 'Crispy Master' Beevers. He came out here for a convention in 2014 and before his Q&A the MC reminded us to be sensitive when asking questions about Caroline, given she'd only passed away two years prior. Looking forward to the next video!
Thank your for the kind words! I really appreciate your support! Liz shaw should have been given more love in the show. but we have to be grateful for that none of episodes are missing, and she was at least able to complete a short run in the 3rd doctor era.
@@timeladyjamie I do say jamie losing Liz was a shame, in billions of ways and she IMO had much more to bring to the show and had she stayed on for the second series of Jon Pertwee,s era she could have met the Doctor,s Time Lord arch-enemy the Master played by awesome actor Roger Delgado and also travel in the TARDIS too a shame none of that ever happened sadly.
Of the 8 Classic Era Doctors (Hartnell to McGann) Pertwee was my favorite, & part of the reason was (being a Back To The Future fan) he had such great chemistry with his companions of being an excentric scientist like Doc Brown traveling around stopping evil whether it was with Liz, Brigader, Jo, or Sarah Jane being his Marty.
Pertwee's Era is special to me And We love Back to the Future over here too! We keep rewatching classic episodes from 3 4 and 6 rapidly we noticed over here.
I do say it is a shame neither Liz Shaw or Sarah Jane Smith encountered the Roger Delgado Master, and also I know had Roger Delgado been still alive for his intended final the 6 part serial the Final Game Sarah Jane Smith would have been the 3rd Doctors companion and she would have met the Master as Roger Delgado she only met the Master in the form of Tony Ainley in the 5 Doctors when she was reunited with Jon Pertwee instead of Tom Baker who refused bluntly to appear in the 20th anniversary serial the 5 Doctors.
Late to this but having only recently saw Season 7 properly for the first time and listened to some audio dramas featuring her, Liz has quickly become one of my favourite companions.
I say Geoffrey Beevers who played, the decayed and emaciated form of the Master in the Keeper of Traken, instead of actor Peter Pratt is ne man I would like to meet and get his autograph and also Geoffrey Beevers is one actor who never appeared in classic sci-fi series Blake,s Seven he would have made a great villain in B7 had he appeared in that sci-fi series.
Liz was a powerful.female companion, which was quite a thing in hindsight. Sadly the series reverted to the hapless Jo as the follow up. Caroline played it superbly.
You showed footage from P.R.O.B.E., but then go on to say that we never find out about her life after leaving the Doctor. Wouldn't that spin-off count?
That Elisabeth Shaw was born in 2056. The Dr. Who Liz Shaw from the 70's. It's fun to think of her a descendent. but no relation since they are different franchises.
I will say Jamie in the seventies it was very rare to have strong female characters be they villains like the arch-villain and arch-enemy Servalan in Blake,s Seven and also as heroes and Liz Shaw was a strong woman very independent and she IMO was a character that really should have been retained in Dr Who longer the just one series and four stories she could IMO have gone on into series 8 and also at the time Jon Pertwee started his tenure as the 3rd Doctor I was only 1 and how I wish I had been been more than one year before Jon Pertwee took over the role of the Doctor from Patrick Troughton and also I did not like the way Liz was written out of Dr Who offscreen bit at least series 8 in the first story a second Auton story gave an awesome explanation for Liz Shaws departure offscreen and that she went back to Cambridge where she was recruited from by Lethbridge-Stewart and I lived in Cambridge at the time of that era of Dr Who .

Liz Shaw should really have been kept, on for another season she had more than enough potential to stay and travel in the TARDIS
so this arrived by transmat onto my home page, and IS such fun - thank you Jamie !
Thank you! Im glad you enjoyed my latest episode!
I was just asking for you to cover Nyssa when I get to the end and you say she’s next. Both Nyssa and Romana II are my absolute favorites
So happy to have you back

Is the Elizabeth Shaw character in Prometheus connected to the Dr.Who Liz Shaw?
This may have already been brought up but I would still like to know.

Liz Shaw was a missed opportunity.
Can you do the history of sarah jane smith
I like Liz Shaw
