Hey neighbor, us hardcore longtime Iron Maiden fans are in mourning today. Original Iron Maiden vocalist Paul Di’Anno passed away today. He sang on the first two albums. Please check him out with the band doing the song Iron Maiden live at the Rainbow in 1980. RIP Paul. 😢
Same…and of course, when all your adrenaline finally drained back to normal after hours of head banging, recovery came in the form of a big bong hit or two and the rejuvenating calm only Pink Floyd could provide…..
I saw SOOO many IRON MAIDEN concerts. 18 total tours from the very first one on up. They were rather loud. I was a Heavy Metal Manic! Ha Ha! Up The Irons! It was a scene……
I've been a fan since 1982. I was 12 when I asked my mom to buy the Number of the Beast album by them. My dad hated it.. My mom was more tolerant saying Bruce Dickinson had a beautiful voice.. I, m 54 now and seeing your reaction reminds me what it felt like listening to Iron Maiden for the first time. Your Maiden journey is only beginning..❤
That has always been my favorite by Iron Maiden 💯💯💯Red you rock lady ❣❣❣❣#ironmaiden #ironmaidenreaction #rimeoftheanicientmariner #firstreaction #ironmaiden #ironmaidenreaction #rimeoftheanicientmariner #firstreaction
Glad you had a blast with that! 🔥 They've been around for about 45 years now so there's a fair catalogue. lol I can listen to any of their first six albums and not want to skip a single song. After that they have loads of great songs too but for me the pinnacle is anything pre 90. If you want stories and history in your lyrics they are endless. They have loads of high energy ones like this and plenty of mixed ones too with slower transitions etc. I think you'll love the other one too, great story, a slow start building up to a fast finish. There's also some great one's with their first singer, Paul D'Ianno, who as you saw sadly died today. The drummer here sadly died about 10 years ago, he'd had MS for a long time. He was replaced in the mid eighties. It's a big rabbit hole if you want to venture down it. 😆
Odd coincidence but the original Iron Maiden vocalist Paul Di’Anno’s death was just announced. But this is my favourite track with Bruce Dickinson as vocalist my brother had this single.
Iron Maiden's original singer Paul Di'Anno passed away in Oct. '24 at age 66... This concert was in 1982, during Iron Maiden's first year without him and breaking big worldwide w/ vocalist Bruce Dickinson. After 2 albums by 1981, vocalist Paul Di'Anno parted ways w/ Iron Maiden, burnt out from the band's extensive touring schedule... It was worrying at the time because Di'Anno had made Iron Maiden very popular since their club days in the 70's. They auditioned new singers and picked former Samson vocalist Bruce Dickinson for his vocal range and energetic stage presence... Another issue was their 3rd album had to be written from scratch cos they had used up all the material written for the first 2 Maiden albums. They also had an ally in producer Martin Birch, who was able to guide the band's 1982 sessions and incorporate Bruce Dickinson's vocals into their new music... Dickinson said the first recording experience w/ Maiden was very taxing to the point he was threatening to quit. So, the album 'The number of the beast' was completed but Iron Maiden had a UK tour booked before the release... They decided to release a single - 'Run to the hills' ... to introduce Bruce Dickinson as their new singer to their fans. The single shot to #7 on the UK charts and the album 'The number of the beast' charted at #1 in the UK (Maiden's first chart-topping album!) and in the USA, it sold platinum (1 million copies) as 'Run to the hills' became a rock radio hit.
As a long time Iron Maiden fan, I truly enjoyed your reaction. I've been a fan since the 80s when I was a teenager. Anytime you listen to them you get a history lesson
IRON MAIDEN UP THE IRONS FOREVER Beautiful favorite English Heavy Metal band not typical 3 chord band you know why they have so much energy they don't do drugs they don't drink alcohol the main thing they like to do is play soccer Bruce Dickinson is a champion fencer he's also a jet pilot I seen them live back in 03 cutie it's like watching a track meet on stage while playing instruments
Otay Red, atta girl! Now if you wanna wiggle some more, UFO, probably one of the most underrated R&R bands of all time. There are some vids out there from the 70's, but the cream ala cream is the live album strangers in the nite, has been declared one of the best live albums ever recorded, they don't make them like they used to. :-)
Funny that you mentioned you were kinda "scared" of them in your youth. As an old school metal dude (now approaching 56!) Much like big burly biker dudes... Trust me. These people are the goofiest, nicest, most caring people you can know. The "scary" dark image is just that... an image. A look.
Hey RHN, Yes we should have Iron Maiden Mondays. I saw this tour when I was a young boy 82 or 83, I don't remember. Freakin awesome. I just saw them about a year ago in September, still the same energy only 40 + years later. More Maiden please !!!! 👍👍🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🫵🫵🫵🤘🤘 RIP Paul Di'Anno 😢
Best Metal Band. Best Metal Album. Best IM line up The amazing and Clive Burr on drums The best Metal drummer ever! RIP Clive Burr. Gone too soon Sadly today Paul Di´Anno, the singer on two first Maiden albums passed away. RIP Paul.
It is almost impossible not to bounce around, throw your fist in the air, and headbang to this iconic track. Great reaction, Red. Keep up the good work. Greetings from Australia 🇦🇺🤘
Just saw Maiden in Phoenix back on the 9th of October and flew up to Denver to see them with a college bud (along with Judas Priest the next night)... simply amazing & still brilliant 40+ years later... RIP Paul Di'Anno and thank you for starting the Maiden metal journey. #UpTheIrons
I met Bruce Dickinson at country fair doing a fencing exhibition (with swords not wood ) , he doesnt drink or smoke which i found weird as a heavy rock front man , and he said he was selected to go to the olympics to join the fencing team in Moscow i believe , he said no as Iron Maiden were going on a world tour lol
He certainly does drink, but he was never into drugs just like pretty much all of his Iron Maiden band mates(never into the drug seen;), but they do love a brew, or two😉
@@azzajames7661 He told me he doesnt drink or smoke , he said his band mates called him a boring bastard lol , coz he went to his own mobile home at the end of gigs
@@steviesellers Listen to his interviews he often talks about getting drunk and one time he bought many beers for the pub/bar but there was no one there. walks in ozzy who was trying to convince him to pinch a taxi for a joyride, lol 😆 He may not drink now, but he certainly did😜🤘
Just saw their first lead singer, Paul Di’Anno, passed away today. RIP Paul. Listen to him sing their song The Phantom of the Opera in his honor please.

I've never called myself a metalhead, but this song was a favorite. Thanks for the reaction, and that's probably the first time I've seen it performed.
The audio on this live video is subpar. You should just listen to the studio track of the MTV video...however the vibe and energy of their fans/crowds is absolutely invigorating! Seen them live 4x...1986, 1988, 2012, 2021. The live Maiden experience is one of kind and so fun and entertaining to the max!
Hey redheadbanging neighbor, p-please❤ check out a heart breakingly strong song 19 years later than this one but on about the same theme, The Clansman live from Rock in Rio 2001 😊
How can you do Iron Maiden and not do this video first: Hello my name is Brian from White Bear Lake, Minnesota...You have watched the Live 1982 version of 'Hallowed Be Thy Name', it is considered to be the best rock video ever made, singer Bruce Dickinson sings his butt off in this video, you can really hear his operatic voice come out in this song, with his long vabratos, and long notes, not to mention his vocal range. In my opinion this why i think every other rock singer secretly wishes that they could sing like Bruce could when he was in his prime. Pay attention to the long note in the beggining of the song, and the 2 long notes at end of song, they are 'EPIC'...The song is about a man being sent to the gallows to be hanged and he is looking back on his life. Most of Iron Maiden's songs are about an important event that has happened in history. So watch this video for sure, it is amazing !!!...Must Watch. Thank You 🤘🤘 Video Link Below: th-cam.com/video/7vP2hFFV57E/w-d-xo.html&feature=share

Two of my top three bands. Check out ghost for modern 80s sound
I saw Iron Maiden open up for Judas Priest back in ‘82’. In Portland, Maine, $9.50 for the ticket. I still have the ticket stub! Great concert!
Rest in Peace Paul DiAnno
More Iron Maiden please! Or as their fans put it, Up The Irons! No need to be afraid, these are a bunch of nice guys, just as much as RUSH are.
As a life long Rush fan I will say that Iron Maiden is the Rush of heavy metal.
