    The Kodak 2383 film print is Hollywood's most popular film look used by pro and amateur colorists. This Davinci Resolve Powergrade helps you get that popular cinematic look for whatever project you're working on. Obviously, this film look works well with films and shorts films giving them that cinematic aesthetic but with the recent trend in commercials and social media ads using cinematic color grades, you can also use this powergrade to grade any commercial projects and any other kind of video project. The powergrade is broken down into 4 simple sections and the bulk of the work can be done in just 3 primary nodes. The Kodak 2383 Film Print Emulation powergrade comes with an instructional video as well as some bonus tips and tricks on how to get creative with the powergrade and get the most out of it. Is there a way to get a refund for old one or some sort of half off this?
      I don't bought this one only a month back and it just doesn't work with Rec.2020
      Exposure is all over the place and monitoring doesn't work at all. I wouldn't haggle about this usually but TBH, I can't use the one I bought.

    • @george.colorist
      @george.colorist  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey Carl. Can you clarify what you mean by “it doesn’t work with Rec.2020”?

    •  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@george.colorist as you wrote me back earlier, the new version might be better for HDR
      Following the CST node and conversion for the old one doesn’t really work with PQ. It comes out oversaturated and exposure is even more extreme.

    • @george.colorist
      @george.colorist  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Definitely. The new version should work better for HDR. What you're describing sounds like a common thing that some people would get right after converting. For most it was usually the Sub. Sat. node that was set too high. If the new version is working for you then great but if you ever wanted to load up to old one for any reason, you can keep that in mind. Let me know if you have any questions. You can also reach out to me directly on IG. Thanks for your support.@

    •  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@george.colorist my point is, I have the old one. I bought it recently. But I rather have had the new one since old one never worked out for me and frankly I couldn’t use it, is it possible to get some sort of a discount to upgrade?

      Hello Paulo. You have to input your camera color space and gamma information into the Color Space Transform node. If you shot in RAW, you can check the RAW panel in the Davinci Resolve color page to see that camera info. Message me on Instagram if you need more help.

    This looks awesome! just a quick question, how is this different than the Kodak 2383 LUT that you also have? Thanks!

    • @george.colorist
      @george.colorist  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Winson. They both offer a standard Kodak 2383 look but the PowerGrade comes with give you more flexibility and better quality since it works with a Color Space Transform effect to properly convert your log footage without much compression as well as other effects like halation, glow, and film grain which you cant get with LUTs. Both are good options for creating a more pleasing aesthetic but the PowerGrade gives you more control and options for creating a look. I recently upgraded the PowerGrade which now comes with 3 variants of the Kodak 2383 look via the Film LUTs included in Davinci Resolve.

      @george.colorist  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey there! Is the effect of the powergrade being applied? Red text is usually an indicator that your footage is uncached. If the powergrade isn't giving you any effect at all, make sure you are on the latest version of Davinci Resolve. A lot of people have had an issue with this and updating their Resolve version fixed the issue. If this doesn't work, let me know.

    • @george.colorist

      This PG uses the Film Grain and Halation OFX but you can replace the halation node with this free halation method (th-cam.com/video/7QhA6MWgefM/w-d-xo.html) and the film grain can be turned off and substituted with film grain overlays added in your edit. You can find free overlays online. Thanks for watching Joe.

    I try to upload most of my work in HDR.
    Is there a way to use this for a HDR grade as well?

    • @george.colorist
      @george.colorist  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for posting this question. The new update for this Powergrade may be better suited for HDR content although it was not created with HDR workflows in mind. What kind of workflow do you use for your HDR content?

    •  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@george.colorist I’m still very much a novice of course. My aim is just for TH-cam currently.
      I do davinci color managed workflow, color processing HDR 2020 PQ
      Output color space rec 2020 ST2084 1000 Nits
      I’ve had pretty great result with it for normal conversions and simple grades.

    Hello, great, we are a beginner, do you understand Spanish? We have a sony A7iv and we just bought the studio version, we wanted to know if it works with this camera and with dji Drones "Dcinelike, Dlog" and to know what it consists of or what is "Kodak 2383 power grade", is it a tree of nodes? Would you have a tutorial on how to install it in Spanish, excuse the questions since we are starting to learn Davinci, thanks! 👍

    • @george.colorist
      @george.colorist  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hola Ricardo. Si, hablo español. Saludos! El powergrade es un árbol de nodos configurado para crear una apariencia cinematográfica. Puede funcionar con la Sony a74 si usaste un espacio de color SLOG y también funciona con DLog, pero es posible que tengas que cambiar uno de los nodos para que funcione con Cinelike D porque el powergrade usa el efecto Color Space Transform en Davinci Resolve y el efecto no tiene un preajuste para cinelike d. El powergrade viene con un video pero no tiene subtítulos en español. es un video privado de TH-cam asi que puedes usar la traducción automática que ofrece TH-cam.

    So what is the difrens in this 2383 lut compared to using the cineon film lut 2383 that come with Davinchi?

    • @george.colorist
      @george.colorist  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A LUT will only adjust the color of your video without adding any film effects like halation or grain. This is NOT a LUT. This powergrade uses the common 2383 cineon conversion used inside of Davinci Resolve but it includes film effects and other useful nodes that all work together to create a film emulation that is completely customizable.

      The 2383 LUT does come included in Davinci Resolve. However, the film emulation that this Powergrade offers is not included for free in Davinci Resolve. I developed this as a simple but effective powergrade that anyone can use to get a good film emulation effect. Some people will have a use for it, some won’t. 🙏🏼
