Ayo mate, you didnt mention that buying it from their web site and using your promo code to get the FREE magsafe adapter actually meant that these are shipping from CHINA ... if I had known that I would have ordered one from Amazon ... placed my order like 3 days ago and its just now shipping, now I gotta wait 7 more days ... not the end of the world but its best to note such shipping delivery timeframe. Question about data security: Do I need to allow the Insta360 app access to my photos or camera? Or does Apple Dock Kit tracking work without it?
Really tempting. The icing on the cake would be an interchangeable mount so that you could use the gimbal with an action camera too. That would be a deal breaker for me.

Great review as always! I have one question… I wonder if you can confirm, is there a possibility to combine magnetic clamp and external magsafe ssd on iPhone at the same time while using the device? It doesn’t have to be the real “big one” magsafe disk, maybe magsafe enclosure with nvme disk… Thank you in advance!

I notice you have the Magsafe adapter from the creator kit. But then most of your recording has you using the clip instead. Does the Magsafe option have issues if you move around alot?

That's a really slick device. Overkill for me, all I do is take pictures of my cat, but slick nonetheless.
This thing sucks because they got rid of the hotshoe mount. Where are our wireless microphone receiver supposed to go.

Have you tried the 360 Photography option? The last version had a lot of issues with 360 photos.

Nice, I like how compact and easy to use it is and especially that you can use the tracking inside any camera app. I've been testing and using the Hohem iSteady M7 with it's AI tracking and detachable screen, it would be really cool to see a V's between them!

Is there a cold shoe mount? I have the rode wireless mic system that uses cold shoe to mount the receiver and plugs into the phone via usbc

how is the grip, alot of the gimbal now days doesnt fit a phone with a case on and require you to take it off

I really wish you mentioned magnet strength and difference between using a MagSafe mount on a bare and a phone in a case.

Please be honest answering this.... My question is: Does the gimbal get in the shot of the phone? That was a big issue in the last model. In Vertical mode it would get in the shot and even horizontal. I have an email from INSTA360 Admitting to this. So just making sure is not the case here.

All for iphone, which i don't use - hohem isteady v3 is far superior and has a removable remote and is 30 quid cheaper.

As others have said this isn't really for Android users as more than 50% of the facilities are only for Apple phones
Only the dockkit stuff - you can still use the insta360 app and 3-axis stabiliser with any phone

This may just make my DJI osmo pocket 3 obsolete.
I had the first one for about a week, i sent it back. It was shocking bad. It kept on turning itself off. It wouldn't balance correctly and would reset itself mid recording.
So many TH-camr are paid to promote things. It's difficult to know a real review nowadays.

Android phones can absolutely use it - it just lacks Dockkit, so you won't get the 360 tracking outside of insta360 app

No one has enough storage to use this properly for video taking. Unless you’ve spent an arm and a leg for a 1TB iPhone it’s a useless and expensive product
