Very good video! It's amazing how the oils can turn a boring looking scheme into something very interesting to the eye. Looking forward to seeing the finished model.
I was doubtful too :D and until now, I'm pretty happy with the result. Looking forward to finish this project and getting on to something more 'down to earth' :) Big thanks for you support Arthur!!!
The panels are looking great! The black bird is really coming to life. Another good video and also enjoying the background music. I remember the first videos where you were asking about it. I think you made your goal of the 2k subs. Congratulations!!!!
Hey Matt! As always, big thanks for your support!!! Finally another project done... very happy to broke the 2‘000 subscribers mark, thanks! No one was complaining about the music, so i left it as it is. Good to hear that it is going along well with the video. Cheers mate!
Sure thing!!! I think the biggest challenge in using oils, is the handling of the brushes (how much thinner, what motion to use, etc) but it leaves you a big choice and creativity! Have fun!!!
This experiment gives me a lot of new insights. I don't expect great results of this model. But anyways I like the aircrafts and tanks in uniform paint schemes :) Thanks for tuning in Bodo!
Lovely job with the weathering. Great choice with the panel line colour and with the oils. Subtle is best in my opion, less is more as they say. Shame about the seam line, but it's underneath so it won't really show much.
Nice work! Does the oil treatment mask the panel line job you have done before? Because i can see that you put dark oil over rivet which were you put light panel liner! Panel line job is still visible?
Merci beaucoup Bertrand! I tried to keep the oil work restricted only to the surface, which was almost impossible, like you saw. At some spots I have to refresh the panellinewash, but I'll try a different color mix and I'll do it with oils...

Just in time! Solving Korea-war USN/MC Flying nightmares all-black camouflage... Can you share the white-black shading materials? Probably with solid Oil paint (Abteilung?) + what is the black solution you use after you apply the solid oil white? Is it black paneliner diluted with White spirit solvent or what? Many thanks!!! The earbuds are dry or with solvent?
Hey Vit, thanks for tuning in!!! For the panellinewash I use AK Panelliner 'Stone Grey'. I remove the excess with a dry earbud. If the excess won't come off, I moisten the earbud just a little. And at 7:39 I present every material needed for the oil painting technique. The grey oil color turns out much lighter than expected when it dries... If you have further questions contact me on Instagram or Facebook...
After working with the oils I leave it as it is. On the Do335 I made the mistake, that i varnished again and it muted the oil-work done... But there's going to be another weathering layer with airbrush dust. Thanks for the good question!
Thank you so much..I made the reveal 1/72 scale u boat and heavily weathered it then sealed it in flat and noticed that the colors sort of blended together.to my eye....I also use powders .oils.and metal powders
Check out Plasmos modelling channel. I think he did a model only with oil paints. I think you could do that, drying time will be a challenge. Or enhance you brush painted model with oil colors. Just give it a try and let me know about the result.
@@xxmonsterxx9363 I prefer satin to work with oils. Then I only have to moisten the surface a little bit. With a matt surface I had the problem, that the oil colors left some stains, which I couldn't get off...
Hi mate, nic vid and weathering...I used similar light grey and mud oil wash for my night Bf-110... I just wanted to inform you that this V-shaped line on belly - about 2cm behind external tank rack should be also filled; painful issue when noticed too late, and Eduard does not mention it. Also there should be small hole in front of that line in lower nose that you corrected with filling. If needed, check some Bf-109 G drawings, you can still correct it, if you want...I am subscribing now and keep on watching, good luck and have fun :-)
Hey Nadrazak! Thank you very much for tuning in and leaving a informativ comment! It would be nice, if the manuals would mention panellines to be filled (some places they to, but not everything). I'll get back to the Pros like you, before starting my next project :) Thank you very much for your support!!!
Yes, you mentioned it, but i forgot to correct it with the other details... But it's definitely not the last Bf109 I build :) Thanks Alex for tuning in and leaving an important comment for me!!!
@@AirandGroundinScale Your welcome. I subscribe to probably too many channels but you seem to have caught my eye, nice work and explanations do the trick, keep up the great work and I'll keep watching. Also yes too true on the scale vs work, my choice is 1/48 but do a few 1/32 and 1/72 kits also.
It looks amazing, thumbs up dude 😎

Yes, it really gives some live to the boring paint schemes! Thanks for tuning in!
Another excellent video, Leon. Thanks for sharing!
Hey Chad! Thanks a lot for taking your time and tuning in!!!
I gotta say, Leon, at first I was kinda doubtful about the black 109 thing, but now that its pretty much finished, I really like it man.

I think it looks fantastic, and did not expect it! Well done indeed
Thanks for your motivating comment Darius!!!
Beautiful, i've learned so much...
Very good!!! The technique is really easy and fast to apply. Thanks again for tuning in to the Premier Tasic!!!
Great work!
Thanks a lot Mrs. Modest Modeler!!!
Hello Leon, it is really difficult to weathering a all black painted model, but your result looks fantastic and very interesting.

After applying all the oils in the final step do you seal the model with a final coat of clear satin varnish ?

You apply wash on gloss or satin surface?
I prefer a glossy surface... But it can be also slight satin, important is, that the surface doesn't soak up the wash and keep it in the panellines...

That V-shaped panel line where the wing joins the fuselage didn't exist either btw. Other than that, good job.

Black and white seem to be the most difficult to shade well. Great job, I'd really not like to try that in 1/72!
@@johnnichols9056 Thank you John for tuning in! I think the bigger scale the model, the easier - but the more time consuming...
