I've taken my A100 on multiple adventure rides, 600-700km across gravel country roads, up mountains etc. Even have an auxiliary tank plumbed in for extra range. Got custom front springs made, heavier fork oil, high front guard, Shinko SR241 tyres, better rear shocks, longer side stand. Goes like a champ, and I'm 125kg! Does need a bit more top end because the 3rd to 4th gear change is often a waste of time as it keeps dropping out of powered in 4th.
passed my test on an A100 back in the late 80s. Back then mine did a lot more than 50MPH! When we got back to the test centre the tester immediately came over and checked it was really just a 100cc because I shot off down the dual carridgeway during the test. .... He then offered to buy it because he thought it would be a great bike for him and his tester friends to practice the Pursuit test. I travelled to Stoke-on-Trent, corwall and many other parts of the UK on mine. I actually swapped it for a broken down and stripped Kawasaki 250 Scorpion which I had to rebuild (how I learnt about bikes). A100 was a lovely little machine and I miss mine.
I just bought a honda h100 cheap off ebay (came with a complimentary bit of bramble stalk which had grown itself up into the clocks lol!) It's nearly ready for the road and I can't wait to ride it, these little ring-ding 2-strokes are such a lot of fun! My first ever bike was a yamaha yb100 and I went all over on it, never let me down once. Such happy memories!
The vibration through your loins…. It’s quite nice actually! 😝😝😝 I’m going to get an old unrestored one running soon, so starting to look at videos, this is is entertaining!!!
I had one in the seventies. Terrible front brake throughout my ownership until I found that the pads were glazed from new. Five minutes work with some sandpaper was revelatory. 😂. Used to ride to school on it in a three piece suit and cowboy boots. Seventy was possible if slipstreaming something like a van. Just done the NC500 on a 125 and I agree that it is much more fun riding a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow. ❤
Had one of them best two stroke i rode. It went like stink as power to weight ratio was fantastic. Only bought it to pass test on as stepper to bigger machine. Stupid!
I'm happy to see the a100 again. I wish I didn't sell mine but I had to. about two months ago I picked up 79 gs550. I love the bike and I've been having a blast
My first bike. I remember once when I ran out of petrol at home and put some of my sisters nail varnish remover in the tank and it fired up and was enough to get me to the nearest petrol station.
Great job dude. Me and the missis had an identical 1978 bike in red in the mid 80's. Nowadays I always blag a ride on my sister in laws CG125, grinning from ear to ear. Would love another tiddler to sit beside the Z1000SX. Well done again!
Hi, I just bought one [it works] I fell the same as you , my brother had one from new, and this bike gives me more joy then a ninja, i had Kymco and honda 1100 , and i still smile all the time
Love that magazine! I read your article, never dawned on me that it was you though! Love the A100, they are awesome looking. I had an AP before the fizzy, absolutely glorious machines
+2Stroke Squashie Best bike mag out in my opinion and over the moon it got in. My dad had a AP50 which he used to ride around on with the guy who had this bike in the day. So it's been part of the family for a while. My had snapped his AP in 2 on a round about haha.
Bikes which have always been close to the family are the best. I hope I can keep all of mine to pass them down. How did he manage to snap it in 2?? Haha! That would be a great video topic!
Mine only has 1600 miles on itI often wonder when I'm riding it what it would do if it had an expansion chamber the bike stock rips it is a fine writing machine sorry about my broken English yes I am British living in America with a broken phone and that does not translate very well
I got the exact same bike, my dad bought it brand new in 76 and it got passed down to me, it's a great beginner bike and once I get a Harley or whatever I'm still riding my old Suzuki
Great to here another little A100 is still about. No matter what bikes go through my hands this i will always have. Is also the only bike i have in my house haha
I don't think you have to do anything about Reese leave anything you don't have to rebore the as far as I know my mace the same exact noise that's just how they were built
I had one of these little A100's in 86 nice little bike did 60 to 0 in seconds in the dark on a October night with as you say a candle front light and ended up with 2 broken legs and a wife and 2 kids after not making it to a blind date with her so met her in hospital next night :) Would love another but like rockin' horse now
I have a vintage suzuki ts 90 and it still rides good I may sell it part ex or swap for vintage ts 125 or honda XL 125 if there's enough interest in the suzuki ts 90 with original paintwork let me know bike will do 60mph even theese days and is reliable if looked after I spent over1500 on this bike mine is the rotary disc valve rare model with the distinctive chrome snake us import exuast it is a us model with us title tax mot exempt
Great bike, wish i was about around the 70's so i had all these fun learner bikes. The wife took her CBT and i went out and got her a rd125lc haha. The A100 is a great bike though, will never get rid :)
+Daniel Jones I know, been looking for one ever since i have had the bike. I need a new barrel as well because this one is at it's limit. Yet again hens teeth to get.
Ah, very happy memories of being a teenager and riding my metallic blue Suzuki 100, BCV 781V. Thanks for uploading.

My background is 125 and 250 GP racing. I just bought an A100 for the pure fun of it.

More fun in riding a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow
I had one in 1975. Great fun, and reliable to. I also remember riding out of my home area to buy a "magazine" :)
I have owned a few over the years, AC100, AS100, A100K, and an A100M, which I still have amongst may other bikes.

Bugger! Now I'll have to get the TS out for a blast! Try to explain to non "little ones" owners the grin factor.
Take care bud.
