Props to you for owning it lol. I once did a video not realizing there was a small piece of lint on my shoulder the whole time and it bothered me so much I reshot the whole video 😅
For car world I use to entertain myself with Jeremy Clarkson’s commentaries. For watch world there is no better guy then Andrew. So glad to find him on his own channel. Was following him on Watchfinder for years, now I’m here for ever!
Your commentary is as always filled with delightful word play and is as entertaining as any of the watches that you review (including the MAD 1). Your reviews are a joy to watch (or to watches) (pun intended).
I love what Max has done with MB&F and as a hardcore fanboy I love all the MAD1s, sadly I never got a red but I'm happy that you get to enjoy yours. Kudos!
Yeah. The reality of this movement is that even Myota isn't the real original manufacturer. It's Hongzhu from Hong-Kong. And it is costing abou $50. It's a good movement. However in best Myota fashion it's construction doesn't permit almost any servicing whatsoever. Typical single backplate construction.
I've recently began my obsession as a watch collector. And i must say- out of all the luxury brands I've been researching, for me the amzwatch's watches are the most intriguing.
I got a M.A.D.1 Red, and I love it! (I did my own very novice review, as well) The fact you've met Max Busser... SO JEALOUS!!!! The Legacy Machines are some of my favorite haute horlogerie pieces...
I got "the call" or rather "the email" for the Time to Love version. How could I pass up the chance to experience it first-hand? It arrived a little over a month ago. I go back and forth about how I feel about it. I have a large collection of "proper watches" so having something so whimsical in the collection works out just fine. In all honesty, if it didn't come with the MB&F pedigree, I might not be quite so chuffed with it. It is a novelty that does wear off, though I do find myself reaching it for a few hours each week so far. I'm old enough to remember Benetton at their height in the 80's, so the primary colors for the TTL version are something I quite enjoy. Either way, in the long run, it will be a piece of horological history. Whether a passing fad or a genuine chapter in the book, I guess we shall see.
The MAD1 is brilliant, absolute genius. A true MB&F in spirit for a fraction of the price. The only comparable in the world of horology is Patek Philip with their brazilian Gondolo raffles at the beginning of the last century...
This answers a question I've always wondered about - what would a person look like if they mounted a "herb" grinder on a kitchen timer and stuck it on their wrist in a non-ironic way.
Nice to see a hands on review, don't see the appeal in these and I can't say i'm a fan of the price. Congrats though on being able to get one they can be hard to find.
I got my M.A.D.1 Green ‘Lucky Clover’ 🍀 delivered on Friday. Such a fun Watch, yet a little expensive for a fidget spinner! lol. As you mentioned, it’s the nearest the poor layman like myself will get to owning an MB&F (a brand I am a big fan of) and an interesting time telling drum to boot. Certainly a conversation starter. I’m not a fan of the latest iteration which was a collaboration with a French Artist and looks like the 1980’s electronic game SIMON. I wonder if they will carry on with any other coloured versions? A yellowish / gold toned one would look very Summery. I’ll maybe have to try some of the DeLugs straps that you spruiked. Thanks for the tip. I’ll look into them. ✊
I picked up a red recently and was going to sell my green. Still have both. There’s so many reasons not to keep them but I still wear both occasionally. And most don’t notice them on my larger wrist. They’re daft, pointless fun, which is why I like them. Must look at the deluges straps. Because the watches aren’t silly enough as is.
Hey there Andrew looking good buddy. I’m glad that you did a review of MAD -1 I have collected all the 4 models and I have to agree with your assessment of these models. It’s definitely a great conversation starter from purists watch collectors to newbies in the watch community. Questions always arise how do I get one of these pieces. Either Max got the idea from Aventi watches or visa-versa. The concept of actually being able to be selected to own one makes these watches special because we all want something unique that you can’t just buy from an Ad. Keep up the good work and I love your take on watches. I look forward to your videos. Cheers 🥂
NIce video as usual thank you. I have a MAD1 Red and a Xeric Inventor 2 incoming. IMHO the MAD1 is not worth the price but the Xeric definitely is. The Xeric Inventor 1 came out way before the MAD 1 so no points for novelty there. Hopefully the MAD1 is 10x better built than the Inventor 2 considering that they have the same movement.
Funnily enough. I wore my MAD1 red to work today. Carefully tucked under the sleeve of my jumper. It went unnoticed the whole day. I loved it. Interesting proposals from delugs! I got one for a bel canto and it is really nice and comfortable. I will have a look to the ones for the MAD. Great video! Thank you!
😂😂😂 That's made my day 😂 I appreciate brand allegiance, but blind fanboyism is bordering on pity... The Bel Canto, like all latest CW releases, is just a homage, a MB&F wannabe.... It feels cheap, the bird is laughable... Enjoy your watch....👍
How do you know ???? Thank you AM , as per , for delightful commentary , lovely pics , and super interesting subject . I call dibs on a signed copy of your first novel !!!!! L gooru
There are some watches where you wish you could stare at the movement all day. AL&S, for example. Then there's this. You'd think a $3600 watch that places the movement front and centre would give you something more interesting to look at than a Seiko 5 with an exhibition back (yes it's a Miyota - the point is, it's purely functional, not decorative). A slightly-shiny workhorse movement doesn't spark joy, at least not for me. As far as Busser's works go, this isn't exactly the zenith. Ah yes, Zenith - another brand whose movement i'd rather be looking at. This man's name commands a serious markup. Watch collecting is a highly subjective thing though. As long as you enjoy it personally, that's all that matters.
Most Lange watch movements are covered with a 3/4 plate. I understand your sentiment but only a handful of their calibers are really incredible. Don’t pretend that looking at screwed chatons on a Lange 1 will keep your attention for long.
Thanks for the vid Andrew. I agonised over the same watch-is it just the hype, is it just the link to the man MB, it’s only got a Miyota, it’s a child’s fidget spinner, overpriced etc, etc. But bold design isn’t to everyone’s taste nor should it be. It appeals to a few. Yes, my taste is eclectic. I missed out on the green so bought a red. Don’t wear it often but mesmerised when I do. Vive la MAD1!
I bought this popular video watch from MaMaCoo , which was originally priced at a few thousand dollars, but now it's only $380! It's really suitable to pick up feces!
Picked up a MaMaCoo 's watch as my first watch last month and I’m absolutely in love with it. Perfect size, looks elegant, very comfortable. Now my only problem is holding off from buying more watches so quickly!
Offered a new set by my regular grey at a very good price. Tried it on. Way more fun than anticipated but just couldn't pull the trigger. My kids will kill me.
Ask me how..😂😂😂 simply British innuendo at its best. But saying that, you know every owner is going to do that! And see if he can concentrate without the distraction of that mad rotor...😂
I had 2 of them and sold them very quickly. Considering you get a proper tudor for that money, and seeing that Japanese movement constantly sort of ruined it for me. But its a creative and fun piece - for 800 it would be worth it.
Of-topic, for which I apologize, but I wanted to pose the following question to you, Andrew. Do you know of any watch which has a retrograde display of time (e.g. like Genta's Mickey Mouse) and when a buttom is pressed, it changes to a chronograph. Then when, say, pressed again (or maybe twice), it goes back to normal.
I'm going to get one and ice out the bezel and lugs. I feel this can't just dip it's toe in the water, it's gotta high dive into a shot glass.....that's empty.
I failed all the raffles. I thought I had entered the first but for some reason I mistakenly hadn't, so didn't even get a green clover. I know they say it's independently assessed, but you can't help but see people that are connected, appear more successful in the raffle 😡
I am not sure the people understand why this movement (Citizen 82xx is one of the most affordable automatics and still in such an expensive watch) was chosen: - The Citizen movement has one-direction rotor which allows crazy spinning in 50% of the cases. - The bearing of the rotor, which is mounted on the bridge instead of the rotor, is solid enough to handle this huge rotor. - The movement is solid enough to handle those heavy "hands". And still folks are claiming "I'll never buy a watch with Miyota 8-series movement as it is so cheap".
Not for me and if I decide to spend $80K on a watch it definitely won’t be on a MB&F but they’re circulating the lifeblood of watchmaking and for that I’m appreciative
Sorry about the debris 😅 I wear this one quite a bit
What are going to do when your “the red one” is ready and it’s so close to this color scheme?
Props to you for owning it lol. I once did a video not realizing there was a small piece of lint on my shoulder the whole time and it bothered me so much I reshot the whole video 😅
As my old Scout leader used to say, the fun doesn’t have to stop when the lights go out 😮😂
“Show me on the doll where the man hurt you”
It's surprisingly easy to get a sore elbow from jerking it too much
That's what she said
I love me some dark pedophilia jokes along with my horology content. It’s an ultra rare niche 😂 lol
For car world I use to entertain myself with Jeremy Clarkson’s commentaries. For watch world there is no better guy then Andrew. So glad to find him on his own channel. Was following him on Watchfinder for years, now I’m here for ever!

Awesome to see a proper review Andrew, and as always love your macro photography and narration!
Did he just say "like my boy scout leader once said, the fun doesn't have to stop when the lights go out"? HAHAHA! Brutal.
Definitely one of the watches ever made
Ha ha brilliant
I've got a mad 1. I love it. Makes me smile every time I look at it.
Funny thing is that if this was $50,000 instead of $5000 the Richard Mille crowd would go wild for it
I love what Max has done with MB&F and as a hardcore fanboy I love all the MAD1s, sadly I never got a red but I'm happy that you get to enjoy yours. Kudos!
I've got a red one for sale if you'd like to complete the set?
At least if the Miyota movement fails, it costs a whopping $12 to replace from Aliexpress.
funny you mentioned it, this whole watch looks like it costs $50 on ali
Zzzzzzzzz
Yeah. The reality of this movement is that even Myota isn't the real original manufacturer. It's Hongzhu from Hong-Kong. And it is costing abou $50. It's a good movement. The Delugs strap is worth every penny! It makes the MAD 1 much more wearable, and it's not as crazy to wear as you think.
I got a M.A.D.1 Red, and I love it! (I did my own very novice review, as well) The fact you've met Max Busser... SO JEALOUS!!!! The Legacy Machines are some of my favorite haute horlogerie pieces...

"Sore elbow from jerking it to much"
Absolute poetry. His Watch content is nice too.

I am a cook I like to buy one
Nice to see a hands on review, don't see the appeal in these and I can't say i'm a fan of the price. Congrats though on being able to get one they can be hard to find.

you’re literally my comfort person i love you #amzwatch ! I'm saving up for my next watch.

Congrats man, I really want one as well!
It's very worth it imo.
I love mine and everyone who sees it wants one.
When it comes to expressions of creativity. Restrictions are most often the best mother of invention. 👍

I don't wear my MAD 1 red much, but I have a ton of fun when I wear it. Congratulations on adding one.
Why? What the heck does it make you do!?? Coke binges and a night in a brothel!!?😮
I've got a mad1... She's currently doing the dishes.
I think it's pretty cheap for such an unusual watch. It's art more than its time telling. Nice one.
I like this. At least it ain’t boring like the status quo!
“A neutron star in a washing machine.” lol You’re killin’ me!
Awesome watch just got the lucky green clover and I love it
I love mine - big fan...
It’s a small detail but I would suggest blueing the stem or coating it in a red since it is exposed.
Finally talking hands video!
Thank you!
that was incredible. what a beautiful watch and what great work you did on it!amzwatch
I’ve had a mad one and a bel canto - the bel canto is so much better. More interesting complicated design. Better finishing. More wearable even.
😂😂😂
That's made my day 😂
I appreciate brand allegiance, but blind fanboyism is bordering on pity...
The Bel Canto, like all latest CW releases, is just a homage, a MB&F wannabe....
It feels cheap, the bird is laughable...
Enjoy your watch....👍
@@chrisjones6439 I’ve literally owned them both and prefer the Bel Canto. By miles. :-)
fair enough mate, enjoy 👍
I need this watch. And those straps too ❤
Great score, Clive
How do you know ???? Thank you AM , as per , for delightful commentary , lovely pics , and super interesting subject . I call dibs on a signed copy of your first novel !!!!! L gooru
'As my old Scout Leader used to say...'🤣
Be careful that elbow. Tooooo funny. 😂
Thought the scout leader was hilarious.
Great review! ❤
I can see Alfred E Neuman sporting one of these. Nice.
Much as I admire the skill, engineering, and madness of it, I don't think I'd ever actually want one.

I bought a Hoga jump hour from the 60s where the dial was taken off. Paid like $400 on eBay - has MB&F feels :)
That scout leader joke was equal parts disturbing and effing hilarious.

Speedholes, great reference
Love it 👍
Spinner rims for your wrist👍
Offered a new set by my regular grey at a very good price. Tried it on. Way more fun than anticipated but just couldn't pull the trigger. My kids will kill me.
If this wasnt made by MB everyone would make fun of it and hate it. It looks like a spinner rim from the 2000s 😂😂
36Mafia would love it. 😂
18mm? Oooh. Bold. I thought you would get the space ship one
Ask me how..😂😂😂 simply British innuendo at its best. But saying that, you know every owner is going to do that! And see if he can concentrate without the distraction of that mad rotor...😂
Andrew, if you had to pick one "silly" or whimsical watch for your collection, this or Bel Canto?
I had 2 of them and sold them very quickly. Considering you get a proper tudor for that money, and seeing that Japanese movement constantly sort of ruined it for me. But its a creative and fun piece - for 800 it would be worth it.
I'm an expert on half finished Arifix kits, I have several.
This in a titanium case with lume on the rotor and a couple of other small changes, would be amazing.🎉
You left Watchfinder, but was it worth it?
Simply yes.
I don’t care what anyone says, I like it.
Xeric has the Invertor II coming out soon with a similar side view look.
Of-topic, for which I apologize, but I wanted to pose the following question to you, Andrew. Thoughts on the MAD1S?
"The reason the MAD1 is at the Kardashian end of the thickness scale..."
I can imagine meeting a lot of people with that watch on.
Hey guys should I get the Baltic HMS002 or 003?
Buy what you like, not what others tell you to buy.
I'm going to get one and ice out the bezel and lugs. I feel this can't just dip it's toe in the water, it's gotta high dive into a shot glass.....that's empty.
Hi Andrew. I am looking forward for a possible review of Christopher ward c65 super compressor elite watch.
Interesting.
I failed all the raffles. I thought I had entered the first but for some reason I mistakenly hadn't, so didn't even get a green clover. I know they say it's independently assessed, but you can't help but see people that are connected, appear more successful in the raffle 😡
Insane. I like it.
Crazy sized watch thougH!
omg I want one
You can always switch to the other arm.... 😂Nice.
COMEDY and Watches.. THIS MUST BE ILLEGAL.
I want to be a space ninja now
Anyone know what the total weight of the watch is with the factory strap and clasp??
85 grams. I just weighed it myself :)
Mad watch for a mad price 🤪
You should get what you want and like.
MaMaCoo watch are the best, I say this from experience.
Measure twice cut once! 🤣
I am not sure the people understand why this movement (Citizen 82xx is one of the most affordable automatics and still in such an expensive watch) was chosen:
- The Citizen movement has one-direction rotor which allows crazy spinning in 50% of the cases.

- The movement is solid enough to handle those heavy "hands".
And still folks are claiming "I'll never buy a watch with Miyota 8-series movement as it is so cheap".
"On the Kardasian scale" !!
I own in the last raffle, but I couldn't buy this time...😞
Not for me and if I decide to spend $80K on a watch it definitely won’t be on a MB&F but they’re circulating the lifeblood of watchmaking and for that I’m appreciative
This watch would be perfect for me, don't ask me why.
The LM101 is indeed a #HolyGrail. Is the MAD1 close enough? It's certainly more affordable!
I cant swap to the other arm. Im exclusively right handed😅
The only problem is you have to duck down to see the time so it won't work on the paintbaill field.
You've gone mad, yourself, Andrew.
What do you call her?
It's a toy for watch enthusiasts.
