Probably because you played the games as a kid/teen when you were very impressionable. The games are emotional enough but the music makes it transcend that. So when you hear the music you equate the melody to a particular feeling - the one you felt when the song played in game.
The title is incorrect -- it is not "Music from Final Fantasy II", it is "Distant Worlds II, Music from Final Fantasy" (while FF2 is included in the music, it is not limited to FF2)
dorkandproudofit o... k...... I already was intending to play the SNES versions, I need courage first. Also, I never finished the 9 and now there is an android version.
Do the GBA version of VI. It's the best version as they re-added a lot of stuff that was censored out on the SNES version, cleaned up some dialogue here and there, etc. The other ports are sadly subpar. You won't regret playing it--there's a good reason a lot of people argue it as being the best in the series. :)
I really hate this arrangement of JENOVA. Why on earth they would use the Black Mages arrangement, which is meant for a small ensemble, rather than the original arrangement, which was meant for a full orchestra, is beyond me. Also this is compressed to shit, thanks for making my ears bleed.
If you want to listen to the album in actual HQ, try this playlist.
Distant Worlds II: The Prelude
I started playing final fantasy games just because the the music was soo good.
A Place to Call Home
I'm glad you posted these. As a result I bought both albums.
Thank you for posting this. I was in grade 8 in 91' when FF2 came out. Even in it's 16bit format that music was and still is beautiful to me.
Guys.. Please, tell me why the music of FF is so special to me? I cry in some of them and feel joy in some. I really don't have an explanation.
+FoxDie85 That's just the beauty of good music. Good music makes us feel things.

Just realized some similarities between Ronfaure and Beethoven 7th 2nd mov, especially with the Base patterns.
Melodies of Life was different but enjoyable
This lady sang Melodies Of Life better than the original singer, but I don't think this song is something that should be belted out.
DarthSinistris Same situation as Suteki Da Ne, right?
Suteki Da Ne/Isn't it Beautiful (English version) from Final Fantasy X.

Quality change doesn't change sound quality. It's a video resolution...

Final Fantasy X was definitely the saddest in the series.
You obviously never played VI. THAT one had a fucking attempted SUICIDE.
dorkandproudofit By saddest I mean the story, too morbid.
Again, play VI. You may change your mind.

When these songs are sung in english it makes them sound like something out of Disney. Instrumentals would have worked better.
The playlist is from album 1 xD
Where is the HQ???
chile 2014 soon
Great, except for Melodies of Life, the singer somehow didn't match D:
+Bibi Colares sooteki da ney xD
Clearly not HQ.
why they never come to spain... we are the world's ass, we are always forgotten...
29 de abril en madrid, 30 de abril en barcelona.
Well Portugal was supposed to have Video Games Live and it was cancelled due to poor sales, I had a refund. I do not know what is worst.
cabron esta densisimo este pedo
What the fuck, man, you said "HQ" in the title but this is lossy as fuck.

Holy shit the audio sounds terrible!
yeah, it only plays on my central speaker. the other channels don't exist.
