I like this guy. Don't agree with everything. Feel exactly the same way about the use of the word progressive. Johnson is not a real libertarian. Trump may be the Andrew Jackson we need now to castrate the banksters.

I like everything about this guy, but his judgement on supporting crazy Gary Johnson is baffling to me.
He is not your usual everyday guy, he lives alone in a huge mansion-like home in some remote area with cats as pets has never married is highly educated and a successful business CEO, of a successful company. He is a little unusual.
Agree, Gary Johnson is nothing but fluff with air in the middle. It should have been William Weld at the head of that ticket, then they really could have had a real chance at preventing Trump getting the presidency.
Ironically, since that 4 years ago, Trump has emerged as the supreme buster of the Deep State. Well it december 2020 and I guess Patrick learned that you can't judge a man by his cover. Because apparently he has had a change of heart toward Donald Trump.

I would like to see him debate an expert on "naked short selling". He did want to get into the technical aspects of why naked short selling is dangerous. The technical aspects of how naked shorts rig the system is what needs to be exposed.

30-40% higher for what? Partly, you're paying for the convenience of finding it all in one place. Any cost comparisons I've been able to do, they were cheaper. Most things, though, I couldn't find anywhere else. Where are you looking?

I've identified as a moderate Republican for a couple of years now, ever since I was fourteen, but I eventually performed the Socratic method on myself. I've expressed interest in the ideologies of Libertarianism for the past seven to eight months now, educating myself had been a top priority of mine, but I can't help but wonder if I'm making the right decision here. I haven't watched but mostly listened to the entire interview, but I'm highly irritated by this.
Mr. Byrne’s integrity tanked the moment he started his biased lies about Trump. Trump went bankrupt a hell of a lot more times than what he said, just for starters. Anyone who can become a millionaire from zero, repeatedly, IS the epitome of a succesful business person. Good thing he waited until the end for that bashing. Not sure what Gary Johnson he is referring to since the governor of California acts nothing like what he says here.
This is the type of misinformation that is plaguing the country and it doesn't make any sense why people can't take the time to get their facts straight. Some of Trump's businesses endeavors went bankrupt and dissolved... he never went to zero... just used the bankruptcies/losses in his business to offset gains in other places (smart move but he's no prophet). There should be no pride in this type of repeat failure... filing for bankruptcy means the businesses failed. When did that become a good thing (a question for Trump's partners, employees, and lenders)?
Ironically enough, Byrne's bought and turned a bankrupt company, Discount Direct, into a billion dollar company, Overstock. He pioneered blockchain adoption and is creating blockchain solutions that will disrupt an entire industry. Trump turned $7.5-14 million dollar loans (from dad) into a $1.6-10 billion empire... even if you assume the lowest loan and highest earnings, do the math on that return vs the return on the S&P over the same time period. Trump made money over this period but he could have just invested in a basket of goods in the stock market, done nothing else and he would have made way more money.
Both guys come from good homes with Dad's that helped along the way so both had a good start (not going to argue about which had it better). Both have viable businesses but my personal opinion is that Overstock is poised to be a far more innovated company (if you don't believe it already is) and out earn Trump by leaps and bounds over the same time.
Unfortunately, the only biases on display is your unadulterated bias for Trump.

The only reason I wrote you is because you incorrectly asserted that trump went to zero and became a millionaire multiple times (which is false)... you equated someone that filed bankrupt multiple times as successful... that's comical, plain and simple. Sorry, he's on no successful businessman list... Byrne, Buffet, Jobs, Gates, Palihapitiya, Zuckerberg, Ma, Bezos, just to name a few, are good business men. I challenge you to read about these guys and compare to them to Trump...
I too wish Trump the best in his Presidency but the unwavering bias for the man by his base is unbelievable. Again, try not to obsess over every unchecked word you hear on Fox news or at a minimum stop listening to Hannity and Tucker and listen to Chris Wallace's fair and balances reporting.

I frankly don't care one bit about your educational background... I was merely defending my understanding of the topic that you so carelessly misrepresented.
You are entitled to your opinion and I welcome it... but do understand that your opinion was predicated on a gross misinterpretation of how bankruptcy works and your bias for President Trump, which lead to your false characterization of Byrne; if you're opinion was based on sound facts, I would have nothing to say... but to purport false statements as fact, to support your opinion, is unAmerica. I couldn't sit by idly while these lies permeate on such a great interview.
I truly wanted to give you the benefit of the doubt... that maybe you would own up to it and say "you know what, you are right about the business stuff... but I still don't like Byrne because I'm pro-Trump" or just learn something (free of charge) but instead you came back with nothing substantive.
