***** So your telling me you can't tell the difference between Robert Downey Jr, and a Homeless drug dealer who smokes meth. I am a heterosexual, but I can tell Adam Levine is a good looking guy. You look through a girls point of view to see if hes good looking. :D
Yes, and it's fairly sound advice. Traditional 401K contributions come from your gross income. Some companies match a percentage (they put in something for every dollar you put in). If you already have a 401K with your company that has enough in it, you can "borrow" up to half the total amount for a down payment on a house then pay "yourself" back with contributions from your paychecks. Those come out of your net pay, though. It may be most feasible to save the down in a savings or low-risk investment account. Socking away net earnings, even a little at a time, adds up. Having a house also gives you tax breaks. Real estate -can- be a good investment, depending on the climate of the market where you buy geographically and depending on the percentage of appreciation per year in a given area. Sometimes it gets hot in a single area quickly so you need to be ready to act. Having the down payment ready for the right moment is the best possible thing you can do, and sometimes saving the down payment is the hardest, but I promise it's worth it. Once you've got money for down, earnest, and inspection, there is almost nothing stopping you, provided you have good credit and a dependable income / job. It's very feasible to live in a property, fix it up while you're there, then sell at a profit, while you continue to contribute to a 401K. Always go for the conventional loan. Always, even if it hurts at first. I realize some of us are already struggling financially; I was for quite a while, but pennies and dollars over time really do add up. If you're more adventurous and willing to take the risk, you can acquire multiple properties, but you may need to draw up a business plan and show prospective lenders that you'll make a profit, or you may need to show them that you've done this before on a smaller scale. (They need to know that they'll get their money back and that you're not a risk.) The key is to start SOMEWHERE then BUILD from there. If your credit sucks, start by building it back up. There are lots of ways to start doing this. Research it. Then when you can, start small with something you can afford in an area that's desirable. Pick a house with solid bones, built in the 1970s or 1980s, or later, which is only in need of cosmetic renovations. 1970s tract homes are very solid in some areas, but they're time capsules. The one I bought had green and orange shag carpet. Gugh! But it was all replaceable. :) Be careful about where you buy and what you can afford, realistically. Do whatever it takes. Rent out your couch. Rent out your spare room. Rent out your basement. Take odd jobs. Save all the cash you can. Then just GO for it. If you can borrow the remaining amount (after down, earnest, and inspection fees are paid) based on your monthly income, you can very likely "afford" a house. I swear, if I did it, anyone can do it. (Or you can write a hit rap song, but ya know that takes work too. ;-D )

+Cinccino TV Well all other things in the song: wear titanium suits, dont go outside, dont travel at all, furniture killing machines. Do you think these are sencere advices? I guess no, so what about Kendricks advices? I guess the song just stated other extreme to the YOLO-Attitude: "Do whatever you want, dont think about consequences." Hence not all of Kendricks advices should be (in general) useful.
In what way? How Much A Dollar Cost is(basically)about how Kendrick meets a homeless man and selfishly does not give him even a single dollar because he believes he is just some crackhead, yet this homeless man turns out to be God, and he tells Kendrick he has lost his spot in heaven for just one dollar. This then leads Kendrick to question the worth of a single dollar. Again, that's a really simple and summed up version, but I still do not see how it relates whatsoever to his verse on this song, which tells people to invest in their future basically. I guess one could connect it to the fact that there is a homeless man in How Much A Dollar Cost, as some people are homeless because of their own bad life decisions, but in no way does that break down the whole song.
+Sassy Sasquatch I think the original commenter wasnt talking about the song, but the actual worth of a dollar, and how it's funny that he releases a song about that 2 years later

Kendrick's verse is once again impeccable cause if you follow that advice you'll be in a good spot. Mortgage rates bar varies though based on the specific time, so be sure to cross reference the latest advice in that regard.
I hate it when you're going to kiss someone and Adam Levine interrupts it.
Ikr
+Olof Noaksson happens every tiem

+Olof Noaksson *shakes fist to the sky* LEVIIIIIIIIINE!!!!!

tehonlygod Lol if if I was one of those people that Adam separated, I'd kiss him instead.
Still atleast say no homo
did kendrick lamar just give me advice on financial structure ._.
Hahahaa
Yes he did.
First Friday of The Month Y'all
(Cleveland Show reference)
(Or you can write a hit rap song, but ya know that takes work too. ;-D )
Naiya Cominos Not sure if you're trolling or serious.
Kdot talking about investing in real-estate 11yrs ago... Hope y'all were listening !! 😂

Wow.
Isaac Mitchell wtf you can’t compare them. one is the greatest band in the history of music and the other are just some basic band from liverpool england
@Harry M. Smith i think you didnt got the joke lol
This lonely island song is criminally underrated...parodying the YOLO movement by taking it to ridiculous lengths
@Michael Jones the way i see it they took something toxic and send a message (and then a message in the message) and that is... pretty good
After all these years, "YOU OUGHTA LOOK OUT" still gets me.
30% usefull advice 30% good financial advice 30% stupid advice 11% scary advice
You sure we watched the same video? I found 100% of this useful
101%?
Some solid math right there. #101%
That's the joke.
Don't get butt-hurt because you can't detect humour buddy. My father did not use a condom, that's why I'm here, wasting my time typing to an imbecile on TH-cam. If only he used a condom, he could have spared me from you.
I can't believe this is how I was introduced to Kendrick Lamar. But he DOES give solid advice.
what/? solid advice...
I don't know if it's just because of how great The Lonely Island is, but this is probably the best Adam Levine has ever sounded.
heard em say's pretty good
Funny how a joke is slowly becoming good advice.
Kendrick lamar gave them financial advice, amazing

i love the fact that so many people came back to rewatch this after all these years. I really hope The Lonely Island starts making albums again!
We need more raps giving out good life advice.
I learnt more in the Kendrick Lamar bit about adult life then I ever learnt in school, yep that's pretty ad isn't it.
yep
I'm an A student but the shit we Learn won't help us really
The L Delivery Man Stocks and shit
+Cinccino TV making me think of the boyinaband song don't stay in school
+Cinccino TV Well all other things in the song: wear titanium suits, dont go outside, dont travel at all, furniture killing machines. Do you think these are sencere advices? I guess no, so what about Kendricks advices? I guess the song just stated other extreme to the YOLO-Attitude: "Do whatever you want, dont think about consequences." Hence not all of Kendricks advices should be (in general) useful.
did you not take a finance class
adam levine shouldn't be allowed to be so good looking with a singing voice like that
You don't like his voice?
I do, it's just not fair that a man with such an effeminate voice is also so classicaly handsome.
megamandude455 Ha
megamandude455
Well played
megamandude455 omg you so true XD
YOLO! BE CAREFOLO!
pure. poetry.
Lauren Hofreiter I love Adam Levines backing vocals on that bit it’s like he’s fully trying to legitimise the song 😂

Jalen R me favvvvvv
"There's no such thing as too much purell"
Is this what 2020 vision feels like?
Yes. 2020 vision. The superpower that lets you see everything that will or has happened in the year 2020
Holy shit Kendrick's verse literally breaks down how much a dollar cost
+Jack Ding In a comedic way, yeah
Idiot he's talking about this song lol
+Sassy Sasquatch tf was that for
Kdot giving financial advice to his hood is so on-brand for him. I mean he literally did it on the Pop Out Concert.
